    Shrimp are the best! I put one in a fish bowl as a water quality tester and hes been going around in circles for a week and a half now.
    It's super funny to see the never ending curve throw them off. They never seem to do this in square tanks. Perhaps he is lonely.

      @@FishKeepingAnswers Mine too! I got quite a funny video last night of another test shrimp living with my Vampire Crabs, he seems to taunt them as a food source. He always escapes their attempts to eat him but sooner or later I think he will make a mistake!
      It's an entertaining spectical as the shrimp will basically try to clean them....

    i love shrimp. had some losses but my first colony is about to boom the larger ladies are saddled and waiting to get into something more comfortable before mating XD. I wanted to start with red cherry but they got pricey when the guppies slaughtered em leaving 1 lonely female. i got rid of the guppies and got myself some ones cull shrimp so that i can get good as they say. the cull are skittles as he didnt want to specifically net out certain colors guess thats why its less then a dollar a shrimp XD. but they seem to be doing their shrimpy things and saddling am so excited to see some babies. my white cloud minnows also have some fry and the Ottos are fat.

      Hi. Thank you for subscribing and for your feedback. It is nice to know my videos are providing value to people.
      Firstly, at one point or another we all find ourselves battling the algae.
      Rather than type out a long, long answer to your question, check out this video from Aquarium Co-op czcams.com/video/jLaoKifwo1Y/video.html.
      Defeating algae often requires making several changes in the aquarium. But don’t give up, because once you beat it, it will be well worth it 👍🏻

    Yes this is all true, i recenty bought a few of them, i really love keeping them. But there is one problem, these guys loves my water lettuce , they hang onto the plant and they try to eat the roots of water lettuce and have cut off the primary root of the plant.

      Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment. Interesting observations about the water lettuce roots. I’ve never seen this. 🦐

      My red cherry shrimp pull at my dwarf grass and eat the roots. I figured it was because the grass was not healthy , but the remaining roots seem fine, as well as the roots that I see them pull out and chow down on. There is plenty of algae for them, and I target feed every other day, so they have plenty of food. They simply seem to love these roots.

    Can my 2 months old wild type (clear looking) neocaradinas breed? I added like 10 of em in my small tank.

    • @FishKeepingAnswers
      @FishKeepingAnswers  Před rokem +1

      If they are Neocaridina shrimp, then they will almost certainly breed. Some species, however, such as Amano Shrimp are less likely to breed in the home aquarium as the developing young require very specific water conditions

    I love red cherry shrimp but what happens if you have an ick outbreak in your tank. Do you have to remove all your shrimp before you cam use ick medication ?

    • @FishKeepingAnswers
      @FishKeepingAnswers  Před rokem

      Hi. That would very much depend which Ich medicine you were using. I believe Ich-X is shrimp safe (but don’t quote me) and I know for sure eSHa treatments are if you are living in Europe.

    Can I add red cherry shrimps on my rosy barb aquarium??

    • @FishKeepingAnswers
      @FishKeepingAnswers  Před rokem +1

      I firmly believe shrimp can live with ANY fish, provided the aquarium is set up with sufficient cover and hiding spaces for the shrimp. I keep RCS with my Fancy Goldfish!!!!

      Doesn't matter what colour they are. They are like having wee aliens bombing around your tank! Highly amusing. And seem to change colour with many generations to pale blue, pale red, red rili, brown, orange, yellow, brown with yellow stripes along their back, see through, and black. I love them!
