    For everyone asking what temperature I blow dry my hair on.. I switch between cold air and low heat. The cold air is a good indicator how wet the hair is and I always finish on cold hair to help prevent shrinkage and retain the style. I use low heat to dry and stretch the hair. Thanks for all the love and support 💝

    LCO is a better method than LOC for keeping in moisture

      @PrincessGabb Před 4 lety +9

      Sonia Rena how does that work? Genuinely curious, does the oil absorb into you hair quickly or? How long before you have to moisturize again?

    • @baybeetricia
      @baybeetricia Před 4 lety +101

      @@PrincessGabb I use the LCO method cause I have low porosity. For me oil goes on last and that is my sealant. With the LOC method , your oil goes on second cause you are sealing in your leave in (or liquid whichever you choose to use) and then placing a cream on top to give you extra moisture. People with high porosity lose moisture faster so that's the way they have to use it in order to keep moisture

    • @baybeetricia

    I've done wash and gos and I like how it turned out EXCEPT for the fact that my hair shrunk up so much especially at the back. Applying the tension drying method after adding the products is so smart! Considering how many wash and go videos I've watched I can't believe I haven't seen anyone else try that yet. Most of the time people just let it air dry. I can't wait to give this a try and see how it comes out. Thanks!

    I couldn't have come across this at a better time. I just attempted a Wash N Go yesterday. It turned in to a Wash N Went. The shrinkage was unreal, and I really just felt ugly. My hair is a little past bra strap length, and to see my hair just shrunken up around my ears, just made me feel soooooooo discouraged. I usually wear my hair in twists/twist outs or flexirod sets, or I flat iron it, so I'm kinda used to SOMETHING touching at least the tops of my shoulders. But I'm gonna give this technique a go. I thought I would never return to the Wash N Go, but you have given me hope.

    Thanks for the demo Safiya Bae. I really liked the definition you got before the process of elongating your curls with the blower. After blow-drying your curls, it lost quite a bit of its definition. You definitely achieved longer locks and lots of volume. After my own wash-n-go I definitely get shrinkage but, don't mind since during the week it elongates automatically after wearing it in a pineapple to sleep at night. I'm curious to know how long did your curls last after this wash-n-go video? Thanks again for the demo. Ms. ECstreet :)

      When you have fine hair creams will weight down your hair. You can opt for a water-based leave-in or a lighter cream than Cantu (maybe TGIN) . Skip the activator if your 4a-4b like her then use mousse. Not all mousse are created equal...
      I've never tried Creme of Nature, but I personally would avoid African Pride, Shea Moisture, Lotta Body Mousse as they don't work well. Don't be afraid of some frizz at the base it helps provide body.
      You don't need to use heat for the stretch either.

      Kharizmah so mouse and a water based leave in should work? I’ve been natural for so long I should know this 😅. I’m testing out mini twists with a heavy cream under a wig for protective styling bc I want to retain length so once I take these out I’ll have to try this lol

      @@papayahzz Yes, I'm probably one of the laziest naturals around. When you're really lazy you can achieve that shrunken high curl look by rinsing your hair in the shower and wringing it dry. Oil your scalp and light oil to tips. Then rake in the mousse.
      I've been natural forever too, but every time it seems like I get my routine working some product intrigues me, the new season forces me to change my typical routine then I forget what my seasonal routine was for the year before...

      Kharizmah yess that’s exactly me haha. I was doing so good with my hair a few years ago and now I’m slacking. My goal is honestly her stretched length by the middle of 2020. This awkward stage ain’t for me lol

      @@Kharizmah i agree about the TGIN an i find that hair milks do more for my thin fine hair than Leave in conditioners.
