NISSAN S13- Light Bar + Drift Night

- In preparation for an evening's wet skid pan, benny installs a light bar into his mate's drift pig & they take it for a slide. Unfortunately, Adam takes his driving inspiration from 'Dukes of Hazzard'.

Benny makes this stuff look like a walk in the park. Please consider the risk factors and talk to a qualified mechanic, as well as a psychologist, if you’re thinking of attempting anything you’ve seen on the show.
Take into consideration your safety, the safety of others, as well as your vehicle’s best interests- warranty, etc.
Unless you’re trained & qualified to do so, we don’t recommend modifying your vehicle in any way. Stickers don’t add HP unless installed correctly.
This is me the first time I try drifting, spinning out over and over but having the best time ever!
And of coarse the light bar didn't break off! 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing and as always keep building👍
Before you drift, you must spin. That's how you learn control.
You know what would look cool on that light bar? Getting a piece of tint made with the "Silvia" badge in it, so when the bar is shut off, it looks like the Silvia-grill is still there, but when it's on it just shines through it.
Mainfold that is a cool idea .
@@BennysCustomWorks Yeah like laser-cut some window tint or something. :)
This is the first time I find a LED bar to look good on a non offroad car.
No Noriyaro has a lightbar on his skyline that look fantastic
They don’t look goon 99.9% of offroad set ups either but this is really cool.
i think its just that the curve of the light matches the curve of the hood, looks pretty mean and aggressive
2 years later if that grinder survives, it still wont have a guard. who u fooling here?
PPE is not high point for Benny, Skid Factory or MCM. Shame, for them being idols and not showing youth how to save their fingers, ears or eyes!
Love catching uploads after work. 1:30am here in Canada 🇨🇦
Jason Johnstone haha!
this reminds me of learning to drift my old mx5, overcooking most of the corners
Do love the Cyclops light bar, it did come out looking good, although I got a bit bored with the skid pan, ended up fast forwarding most of that footage, whilst it would've been fun to be participating in, there's only so many times I can watch a Silvia go around in circles.
That light looked cool but that flashing was doing my head in. Holy seizures batman
Sadly those LED bars are quite useless and expensive. They just don't have the range of halogen.
More than that, why the Hel do people making flashlights think anyone wants the thing to strobe every other time you turn it on? :)
@@OllamhDrab That's because it's a generic firmware that goes into many difffernt kinds of lights. Some people like strobin on bicycle lights becasue it saves batteries but is a total traffic hazard.
Not gonna lie it was hurting my eyes
heh, the tape stuck to the shoe. Such a daily occurrence !
I like this show more cause it seems less scripted and more well made than MCM. Also cause this S13 is niiice
i agree but for a different reason. MCM is becoming very repetitive. its either a Nissan, a Subaru or a Golf. Benny here (and Al/Woody on the Skid Factory) does give us some variation
Benny is a qualified mechanic same as Al and woody where on the other hand Marty and Moog are just everyday guys who modifying there cars completely different shows
Yeah, why don't they try a Saab, Honda, Mitsubishi or Daihatsu for once.....
For those not fluent in sarcasm, that's Wasaabi, Moog's S2000, 2Sexy&2wistd, and Marty's Mira.
Quetzalcoatl mini
+1 for rivnuts
-1 for allen key bolts

That bar looked great.... now you have to rebuild the car :) yay for more content Benny
Benny’s little verbal burps are fantastic.
Spotted my black 13 at 6:02 🤙
So many R31s !!!!
❤️❤️
You should name that car "Jordie" for the guy on Star Trek that had a visor over his eyes that looks like your light bar!
1976 Scirocco eh? I had a couple myself. 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981. And a 1984 MK2. Love em!
@@CerealKiller187 The Scirocco is a project that I saved from being crushed. I've had it for years and need to work on it more. I also have a 86 Golf GTI my dad bought brand new. Great cars!
@@i976scirocco3 that is great to hear, they really are unique, fun vehicles. Best to you and your restoration project, the scarcity of those parts, especially the 3 spoke wheel, 110mph cluster, and non-wrap around turns are something else.
Like finding a unicorn, really.
@@CerealKiller187 Thanks I really appreciate it! The Rocco is a California car with no rust except it had some on the battery tray. I've spent years collecting NOS taillights, turns/ headlights and 2 piece grill. New MK2 Recaros and even the crome trimed side markers! The car still has its original 3 spoke steering wheel too!
I have all the parts , I just need to rebuild the car and paint it. I have a 84 CIS injected engine and a close ratio box to go in it. Should be pretty cool when its done.
Looks like Australia could use a good ol' Kei car PVC drift class like that shown on @noriyaro. Get those driftlings used to control before try to manage speed. Maybe there's a FF PVC Drift build coming up for the channel?
That Lightning McQueen AU though
Hey Benny!!! Was hoping to see the IS200 make an appearance in this episode. Please do more episodes on the is200
BCW is a perfect blend of MCM and BOM... glorious
You made the Daft Punk version of KITT :-)
Great work again. Drifting is much harder in the wet. The dry is faster, but much easier to control.
Hell yeah, had one of these growing up in Brisbane.. CA18det. Loads of fun. Wish I never sold it! Hard to find these days
Except this ones a SR....
@@jamieaitken8943 yeah meant an s13
Can you programme the lights to do that thing on knight rider?
in theory i guess lol
WOW killer one eye and to see a man make two different built cars dance! Who would like to see benny ,AL , woody , and marty ,moog all in a drift comp??? Thumbs up.
Yesssss, look so aggressive with those fitted right, Alexi's R32 looks good with one too.
Rhys Millen did driving stunts for the Dukes movie, and he can drive the hell outta any car, on any surface. This driving was more like something a toddler would do on a power wheels.
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere .
Nice clean workshop Benny.
That rotary screaming in the first run...😍😍
I have seen a S13 hatch with a light bar like that before, but i gotta say in the coupe it looks sooo much better, well done Benny!
7:58 Lens flare crossing the light bar! Looks badass! Have a like Benny!
I wanna do this led light bar mod to a car.. glad to know it’s possible 😌
Your drifting improved no end benny! Shame about his bump at the end but judging by the front end at the start, it wasn't his first off! 🤣 🤣 🤣
broke the car in half and all Benny was worried about was his light - i get it 👍🏼
Light bar looks badass on the 13 mate! Wonder how many we’ll see like it in the next few months :-)
That light bar is a great add, both aesthetically and functionally. Looks like you had a bunch of fun out at that drift night, too! Cheers.
Making some good progress. Looks like the car could use some toe out at the front to make it a bit easier to drive if it doesnt have some already. I run about 22mm total dry and about 16mm in the wet. Worth a try.
That light turned out pretty dope Benny. Nice work, nice brackets. I love rivnuts.
This is like what noriyaro did on his beer can. Looks like it fits better on a Silvia though
When was this drifting? I lived for 2 years in Sydney and thought that pad was abandoned.. didn’t think there was any drifting at all in that state.. so gutted I missed out
Got a link for where to buy the light bar from Benny
That actually looked badass. I’m a sucker for an s13 🤤🤤🤤
That light bar is awesome I’m going to get one.
It's all about seat time Benny, you were getting there mate👍
Awesome stuff benny! getting the hang of it!
keen to see you get out in the Is200 and progress some more!
Stainless steel nuts and bolts. I always use threadlocker as they always find their way loose.
Nice, something I've never done, but would give it a red hot go, bloody awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Got the hang of it!!!! That looked like so much fun..... But Ima need some Dramamine now.
I hope that LED bar's highest shining point is not shining right into other drivers eyes on the road!
XenonG its tilted down, not level or up .
Benny busting out the reverse entries lol.
Didnt take the IS200?
That cyclops looks is sick!
When you're doing that 3rd transition you need to pull the handbrake and slide into it.
That pendulum momentum builds and you need to slow it
looks like loads of fun!
this channel deserves more subs!
Quality content!👍👍👍
Suggested i) How to Install Wipers
Simple but so awesome.
That light bar really sets that car apart from the others.
Dimensions of this lightbar? Where can you buy one?
well that looks like a lot of fun but slightly sketchy at the same time. I think i started getting dizzy watching you go round & around in circles all night ha
out there doing it lads!!! good on ya

イケてる🤩
nice car
maadd! that light bar looks sick at night.
What brand is that light bar? Looks quite good. Also where did you buy that vise mounted folder?
Pipiroa Motors both ebay specials :)
hey did you ever have any luck finding that lightbar?
That looks fun as, I gotta try it.
Instead of drilling holes and using cable ties on the bumper it's better to use a fibreglass repair kit behind the crack where it's not seen. Gives it strength again and prevents making even more holes and reduces the "drift car" stigma. A cheap kit is enough to do multiple fixes.
Andrew Date the bar was broken into literally 50 pieces at the end of the vid , not enough fibreglass kits to fix it .
@@BennysCustomWorks pretty obvious I was talking about your ziptie repair but noted constructive criticism isn't wanted.
Andrew Date it was a quick fix as it was always going to get smashed, I’ve done glass repair before and we’ll cover it sooner or later .
@@BennysCustomWorks All i was suggesting is lay some sheet behind the break and brush some resin over it not a proper repair. Gains strength, saves making more holes and arguably just as quick. Not doubting you don't know how to just think its a better option especially since you wanted more presentation from the car and then proceeded to add unnecessary cable ties and holes.
Aero is consumable on a drift car for sure but as ive heard you complain about drift car presentation before and then proceed to do this was a little contradictory and thought i might offer a different option that in my experience works and looks far nicer even done quickly.
Repping BCW so gotta keep it looking good, said with dirty short n shorts. This Guy :P
As Benny says do as I say not as I do! 😂
i'd be less inclined to use a mechanic that wasn't dirty...
So what size was the light bar?
your theme sounds like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles LOL, great channel!
Retro-futuristic!
The robocop light looks cool. Thought you were going to give the car a polish too!
Really nice Episode Benny! The cyclops mod was looking pretty sweet. Hopefully its a simple fix after that excursion at the end...
Nice light bar. Where did you get it from?
Good time for a dosing of degreaser before the slippery since off.
What length of light bar is it? Curved or not?
thumbs up for WEEEEEEEEE IN THE WET!
Last time I was this early my mrs left me
Intro: when your overqualified for your job
I dunno, call me old, but headlights, markers, brake lights and turn signals are all for *communication* in various ways. Not a fan of manufacturers making them visually-confusing just to look cool, never mind necessarily modding that way. I think the worst offender is those cars with the halo lights that for an instant tend to look like they're signalling the opposite direction they are, and then the yellow flasher is dimmer than the opposite side looking-cool light. If nothing else, touching the turn signal should kill *both* and start the appropriate flasher. It looks like a single bar like that just would make it harder for anyone else to judge your angle. (if not flatten your depth perception in the rain: the *last* thing you want is to light up more raindrops in your own face, never mind have both eyes agreeing on each. :) (I mounted some driving lights pretty close to centerline when I was a kid, but for a specific purpose, .namely certain hill runs. ..they were worse than useless in most adverse weather, though: if tat light bar has a way to turn off the middle part, I'd make a dedicated button for it if possible. )
OllamhDrab its a track only car that has all the required functioning lights . The bar only flashes when in hazard mode
isn't that a sileighty cause the front of the 180sx has the s13 silvia front end and damned thats cool to have a lights all across the front of the car
Paul Vo no its a straight silvia , no hatch rear and no pop up head lights
Where is this light bar from?
Getting rid of factory headlights to see better on tracks that have lights is the best
It looks like it's new bumper time.
Looks like an AutoX in the wet!
Beercan silvia, cool
Another awesome video. Hey Benny is the BCW thing your full-time job? Not just the videos but are you running your setup as a legit business? I'm about to take the plunge and open up my own shop and I look to guys like yourself and Al (Turbo Yoda) as my inspiration and motivation. Have you got any tips to stay motivated?
Does moog make all the music for BCW and the skid factory as well?
Brodie Lounder no he’s got a full schedule si we out source music these days . He made our intro though
@@BennysCustomWorks fair enough, cool content too man,
@@bigsohc Thou. there is a large selection to go through and use... if you want.
I want to know the exact light bar he used
I have some ideas for it
Also I’m too lazy to measure and find the right size light bar so I’m asking you guys for help
Second?
At least we all got to watch?
Hahahaha sick man solid effort out there benny
Where did you get the light bar
more please
spit rub at the end :D
It reminds me of noriyaro's beer can.
It made more sense when I saw it in the dark.
What Size light bar is it I'm thinking about doing this on my car
This looks like fun. How long has this shit been going on and how much is to have a go?
Pretty sure I saw my old neighbour from Baulko there in the white Skyline. G'day Jamie.
S13 Nascar edition
Where exactly can I find that light bar
Needs more steering angle and a quicker turning ratio rack
The Aussie Unprofessional just needs a better driver :D
@@BennysCustomWorks yeah might work mate haha
