Which one is the most like Davids Cookies (from the store) in the 1980s? That's always been my favorite. Cooks Illustrated is similar to Bon Appetit and Ambitious Kitchen in that they have a lot of egg yolk and brown sugar. I like them all but still none match Davids which was crispy buttery and chewy all in one.
