  • Namaste and welcome to this video, thank you for watching!
    I decided to take a little detour on my way to Singapore. I’ve got plenty of direct flights from Dubai but as Air India was the most requested airline, why not?!
    I found nice offer and in a matter of hours I was gone.
    While I had low expectations I was very pleasantly surprised with the incredible hospitality I received from everyone on my journey. India is consistently good to me.
    So sit back, relax and enjoy this video!
    Today we are showcasing you the following flight:
    From: Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, India
    To: Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore
    Flight Number: AI380
    Aircraft Type: Boeing B787-8
    Registration: VT-ANP
    Flight Time: 05:01
    Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed our video!
    Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion and feedback.
    Have a nice one!

      That is the crap they inherited from the govt run Air India which early was one of the worst 5 in the world.Now the privatized AI has its work cut out. It still has those govt crappy pilots, fat and surly FA, etc that it must get rid off.

    I still remember the times when AI had a mini hub at FRA and had 5th freedom for FRA-ORD and FRA-LAX all served by the 744. Was too young and didn't have the chance back then to use this exotic opportunity. Always loved the maharaja as their little mascot

    Once, flying on the same route. I got locked inside the toilet and the crew had to instruct me on how to get out from there. A bizzare experience. Well, looks like air India has certainly been improving under the new ownership. The crew is the best 👍

      Time will tell!

Any one will take over profitable companies. And also they will come out with great gesture when Nation needs support. Company with moral values. While I don’t mind Western food very much, I do have a limit and during the strict phases of Covid I got there.
      I mostly travelled to Europe and US and just got enough of that Euro food and craved Asian.
      Of course there are Asian restaurants around but it has nothing to do with the real thing like there.
      The worse part is when I had to do hotel quarantines: I spend weeks eating hotel bland roomservice burgers/pizza/pasta😱
      And yes, rice rules, even in my house despite no Asian/Latino background 😁

Just follow the food smell ? I know some people complain about Air India but I never had a reason! I think most Indian complaints as some Indian can be very difficult to please!

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  Před 2 lety +2

      I agree on the nice service received from the crew, I’ve also done 4 flights and always great.
      It’s easy to complain about Air India as they just have waaay too strong competition on all their routes if you think about it. And those competitors invested very much in product development.
      Air India needs some upgrades, such as IFE and beverage selection. So obviously if you fly to the US with them or with SQ, QR or EK there will be big differences at the moment.
      And yes, from what I know the Indian customer is the most demanding one. Fair enough, they bring incredibly lot of revenue, so much that companies like Emirates and Qatar Airways main pillars are India and neighbors.

      @epic_flightsimmer6340 Před 2 lety +1

      Same I must agree with you, I flew JFK-DEL-HYD and back all on their 77Ws in 2018 and it was actually much better then when I travelled in Etihad two years prior tht. Maybe the crew were not the most friendly as Etihad seems to have a much friendlier crew, but yes I loved the legroom on their economy cabins for someone thats 5'11 it was hard for me to fit in most airlines cabin but not so with Air India and I must the food was the best I've ever had in air, maybe not on the DEL-HYD-DEL sector, they were rlly short flights ( less then 2hrs) esp on a 777-300ER soo it was light snacks, but the ones to the US were amazing but they didn't have a lot of options which I do have to agree with, and same with the IFEs, there are definitely better IFEs out there and Air Indias IFE's were heavily MID. But at the time when I was flying they had decent collections to watch but headphones weren't working. Overalll I must say esp for what I paid in summertime ( tickets to India skyrockets in summer ) the service was really good and so was the flight. I would definitely fly Air India again!

    Wow, this video is really popular! I rarely watch Eco trip reports, but as it was you and Air India, I thought: why not? And i did not regret, of course:) Well done, good music choice, excellent editing..and a nice sense of humour (i remember in one of my early QR videos i had a similar experience with a guy smiling fron the screen at my seat and i was wondering whether I should really sit down in my seat, hehe) The captain was late, but moving fast:)) The staged welcome was sweet..i do similar things but would never admit they are staged, haha. I also knew that India has a really young population..but was surprised that senior status starts at 18+:)))) Loved the Windows 95 vid:) Also, happy to see you survive a Chenin Sauvignon made in India, hehe..how was it? Still, it was good to see Air India still offers free wine in eco. I would have enjoyed the meal as i love butter chicken and daal, too:) And i had to laugh seeing you doing another one of my
    tricks, on top of the staged welcome: could i possibly have the vegetarian option, too, just for the camera and my viewers? Hahaha. The dentists choice desert looked..well..like the dentists choice desert:))) You really made my evening tonight and i stayed up longer than i should have, hehe. Great video of an amazingly great product with a narrative not only full of interesting details, but also full of humour..well done:))))

      I would be so incredibly fat there. Along Tokyo it’s my must go foodie city. When I have spare 24 hours I love to fly over just to have proper food and then return to Dubai. As soon as they opened up I was on the way there! I’ve been 4 times in the past month (also for work of course). Flew in and out with Vistara, Air India, SQ, Gulf Air and Emirates (won’t publish this one).
      It’s Sunday 22nd and I’m 2 days in Seychelles chilling from some hectic moving. The video’s are not published in any order so I’m afraid this Singapore video is slightly older, im long gone!
      Regarding Air India and the worn out cabin.. Wait until I show you a worn out 787 of theirs.. But I didn’t want that to be my first Air India episode. I hope that the best of them and Vistara gets mixed by TATA.
      What one lacks the other has. I like Air India’s heritage and crew but Vistara’s service and interior. Let’s see!
