la Habana Cuba or Havana ,Cuba has changed a lot since last time I have been there. I didn't expect to see this in Cuba. Cuba is a vert vibrant lovely place that makes you feel back in time. they have old classic cars and buildings The poverty level and internet is unstable .

Indeed! Looking at those old broken-down buildings tells us that Cuba was a prosperous society. But politics changed everything.
People are people all that matters is joy in your heart and acceptance of everyone regardless of station in life ,life is fleeting and meant to be conquered with empathy and well wishes .simple and concise it’s a travesty that some will never grasp that concept because of stupidity and selfishness and the deep Emergence into the ME ME MENTALITY !

This is life! I've been blessed to visit many places around the world and I told a coworker the other day, working is not life. We work and don't see this world or the people in it. I can't wait to start traveling again.
Got to do a good bit of that during my time in the Navy. Italy, Greece, Spain, Singapore (which most ships out of Norfolk, VA don’t go there, or didn’t.) Israel, Andros, Bahamas, Puerto Rico….and Cuba, not inland, of course! Just from the ship while we were anchored ⚓️ at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.

There is a reason why the people of Cuba are poor. Uncle Sam placed an embargo on the island. It is time Washington does something for those people.
@@prhayz1 that embargo doesn’t do that much. They have access to just about anything. Bc every other country on earth will trade with them. The problem is the bureaucratic class are thieves. So the government gets looted and is unable to buy products. Plus most the worlds products are too expensive for Cuban salaries. It all comes down to communism is shit. Someone will always be selfish. In communism it’s the selfish few, with no give back to economy. A free market gives a much larger amount of the selfish, and they buy things, use services, etc. and when I say selfish I’m not saying it as it’s bad. Quite the opposite, it’s a good thing

Went to Cuba in 2019, it’s amazing and humbling. The people are a force, they’ve been deprived and politically manipulated for so long, yet they are cumulatively the nicest folks on the planet. It’s interesting to get 1-1 convo with a Cuban, and get to know how they REALLY feel about their situation. Also, their cats (and dogs), and how the people care for them, is also something to fall in love with. If you go to Cuba, there are no strays, the neighborhood takes care of these cats and dogs. They were like “A foreigner drinking what we drink” “He wants to hang out with us and feel like part of our world so we have to protect him like a pack of dogs.” I also caught the remarks he was making about the attractive Black santera that walked by them and how fine she is.
Definitely helps my Spanish with ur adding subtitles and also not just letting them give u any old words in the conversation ur a great defensive teacher and I enjoy ur videos keep them up

did you check to see if purchasing is permitted by foreigners ? if it is permitted, why not purchase there.

This is so cool, my son traveled to Cuba, I missed the trip but it's nice to see exactly where he walked as well. I recognize the area from his pics. This is the second video I've watched and that drink you had with the flavored ice is what Puerto Ricans call Piraguas. Loved them as a kid, still do. I was wondering if they also made these in Cuba so, it was very nostalgic to see. Wow, I'm loving your channel.

The Cubans are some of the world's most resourceful people. America froze them out with sanctions and no trade deals. So they have been stuck in the 1970s ever since. But out of necessity is the mother of all inventions. They are great people
It is an embargo and Cuba does trade .Cuba have to pay in full due to they own money, Cuba get many things from US, China , etc so the Gov. Doesn't care their citizen anything that they can get will be for themselves no por the cuban people

The goverment can buy food and medicine and much more but they prefer to buy police cars, cars for turism instead of ambulance, buses for the cuban people etc, I am sorry but Cuba's reality politic economy is more complicated, instead of going by what others say inform yourself better

Czerch In Effect lets his maven cinematography skills capture Central Havana's abject poverty. I see a cornucopia of splendid iridescent historic dilapated architecture buildings. I see more engaged community conversing with neighbors, immense hustle, lots of trash. However- I was particularly entralled by your discourse with the local elderly men in his home. To see the abject condition of that house made me sullen yet they had immense patriotism, ebullience, and pride about their Cuban culture. The nostalgic old cars made me feel like I was in the 1950s'. In the end, Cuba may be socially and spiritually richer than America because they have authentic community. Great content!

It's sad to see a place that you know was once beautiful ( the architecture is very similar to the French Quarter in New Orleans ) in it's glory day and to see what it looks like now , a decaying rundown mess. I bet Fidel Castro lived like a King though but this is what dictators do. Instead of enriching the lives of the people he only enriched life for himself . When you panned the camera of the street and the people , it looked like something out of the walking dead . I have traveled to many countries...Never had the opportunity to visit Cuba, but I pray for them, I have Cuban blood, never met them, but my Pops used to tell me, I worked for a Cuban refuge when I was 12 until I turned 21 and joined the US Army(this is in Puerto Rico, I am blessed to be born a US Citizen, but the Cuban People I've met when I was growing up and working for them, where the BEST of the BEST)....Don Oscar, Dona Julieta, Oscarito (kind of an ass hole but a great dude) I owe you part of the discipline that was instilled in me by my father, you on the working side, my Pops on the family side and daily living.
