lowkey why I hate some of this playthroughs. It's 2:35am, pitch black in the middle of nowhere, and first thought is some "kids" are just playing a prank with a skull.... Like tf. Sean basically wants to get over this game quickly and get back to spiderman lol.

One of my favorite details in this game is how you can open the door to your RV's bathroom before the diner, but after you get back in it to keep driving it says that the bathroom door was "strangely jammed," implying that someone could have been hiding in there.
They do, someone from the diner hides in your bathroom, apparently its the same guy who claims he's working on the radio tower.

So the “fun” about this is that I, a resident of WA tried to get an idea of where this was. Iron Horse is a state park, but Iron Bark isn’t. It also reminded me of another Reddit story of escaped prisoners whistling to communicate in the forest while trying to kill a ranger in a fire lookout.
The problem: there’s quite a few prisons in National and state forests. And looking up any murders in the PNW is going to give you more answers than you can easily sort through. Also the forest destroys evidence in a blink of an eye. I once watched a roadkill buck completely disappear over a week.
Basically if it’s not a famous serial killer like Ted Bundy or Gary Ridgway, it’s hard to find without county location. Also it’s so hard to catch a murderer, especially if they target strangers. So entirely possibly somewhat true and just an unsolved open case or went nowhere. Cause there’s also a decent number of people who just live in the forests in some areas and no one would report them missing.
i felt targeted when he said "if you eat your fries before your burger, you're a lunatic" because i do that. simply because mcdonald's fries get cold super fast, and then they get all gross, so i feel like i have to eat them first

I love how he made a point to close the door on his RV at the diner, but entirely missed the fact that it was open when he came back out to it lol. Perfect.
His time with the RV makes me think Sean is the type of person who'd survive a slasher movie just because he somehow accidentally kills the murderer by running them over or something. More "Scary Movie" than "Friday the 13th" kind of guy.

I think what makes these games so fun to watch and so downright unnerving, is that there is no monster or ghosts or supernatural entities, but just humans. Humans and human nature will always continue to terrify me and I think these games are a great perspective on it and just a great aspect of horror. Always loving this :]

Shaun then takes another sip before going "Wait, you were going to do what to me now...?"

The scariest thing in the Fears to Fathom games is the fact so many people apparently just read full text messages while driving.
For me the scariest thing in this series is the amount of grammar mistakes and typos. Sure some people must be playtesting these games before release?

Yeah, the games are developed by one person. While there were most likely playtesters, they are probably very small in number with no assurance they would catch the grammar mistakes and typos if their focus was on the functionality of the game. If the dev is taking most of the story verbatim from the folk submitting stories it may not be the dev making those mistakes t'boot.

The only story I feel is actually real is the first one. Home invasions are VERY common, and that one in particular is not very farfetched. That being said, I LOVE this game series. The graphics, atmosphere, and gameplay is very refreshing and fun

I just love that after the guy hanged up Sean called him back to continue talking about coffee, that is honestly my favorite part in the intro
He mentioned a few times how he doesn't believe any of the stories are real, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a grain of truth to them. This one, for example. Some guy worked as a lookout, helped a lost hiker or two, got spooked by a guy pretending to be a park employee, but that's it. Or for the stalking girlfriend game: a guy saw his ex hanging around his house at night, but she didn't try to kill him in reality. Of course, wouldn't be a very fun game without some knife action, would it?

It might be loosely based on the story of Stephanie Stewart, a fire watcher in Canada who disappeared around 2006 I think. The cult stuff is definitely nightmare fuel but the odds of that part being true are slim. Human beings can be terrifying though!

Apparently Sean and I handle depressesion very differently.
I'm pretty sure Ranger Rick is in the cult, or at least complicit in what they're doing. He warned him not to go to far north, and when Jack does, to check on a fire, he spots the first sign of the cult. The next time he talks to Mitch, he questions him about what he was doing there. He seems really eager to keep Jack away from that area. He also brushes off the skull thing super quickly, even though kids doing something like that as a prank is kinda ridiculous. When you first meet him, he mentions how he thought you were "one of them." He might mean a cultist, since they would probably check in with their 'inside' guy. When he says he thought the tower would be unstaffed this season, maybe he WANTED it to be, to avoid this kind of situation.
He also asks if he took a photo of the skull, like he was trying to see if there was any evidence against the cult

This is not only the scariest episode yet, this is the first one with no happy ending. The first kid in Home Alone was saved by the neighbor calling the police and catching the guy, Holly was rescued by manager Joe and was able to get towed back home in Norwood Hitchhike, and Noah was able to get his ex convicted and in jail at the end of Carson House. But here, everyone just straight up doesn't believe Jack saw what he saw, just thought he went crazy and saw things. I'm surprised no one saw the picture he took that alerted all those guys in the first place.
What....? T-This story doesn't have a happy ending? But after what Jack went through....😢
The picture is a little bit overlooked in the ending but I guess you could attribute it to the flash blurring it or just being too grainy to make anything out.

@@Quick15I also kind of personally believe it is heavily implied that the entire forest service was in on the entire thing. With the way everyone around Jack kept dismissing him. So it's possible they tampered with the evidence.
He could have collected more evidence maybe that would have resulted in a better ending

This is why we eat the fries first, otherwise there's no point in ordering the fries because they'll go cold, or worse, soggy.

I get the whole "nobody ever believes me" aspect of the story, but did nobody ever look at that camera which started the whole chase?? Like surely one person saw the picture. Other than that I really loved this episode, its definitely my favorite of the series so far!

Some people might dismiss it as "oh nice Photoshop, bro" or try to rationalize it as some elaborate setup. The only proof anyone can really get is if Jack Nelson died and left his entrails all over the firetower. Even then, they might try to rationalize THAT as some sorta bear attack, like the park ranger does. People nowadays try to shut out any possibilities of things being genuine because they don't wanna be disappointed if they start to believe it, only to find out "Nah bro, that was just some prank/meme".

the story is messed up at the end. no one believed the character even though he took the picture of the cult, like that was the whole point why he was chased away.
I know everyone is here for the horror video, but honestly this video has left me craving pizza baked pasta and I literally took a screenshot of the recipe and made it that night. It was delicious! For those interested, you can actually see a guy watching you sometimes if you look in the right direction when you're up at the watch cabin. And also you can actually die when looking around outside of cabin when the guy lurking around before placing the stuff behind the door. I recommend watching ManlyBadassHero's gameplay as well if you're interested in others view of this episode, where you can also see these events! 😊
