Hey Venancio, your guitars really turn out beautifully - nice work...and nice playing too! I just wanted to say thank you for putting these videos up. I’m doing my first build now and I’ve used your videos as a reference over and over. Thanks for being so generous with your time to help others!
Just finished watching the unboxing, building and this video and I have to say that is an astonishingly amazing guitar! I'm just a couple days away from ordering the custom '59 elite kit myself and your build video was perfect timing for me to see, thanks!!
I know this is an old video but I am surprised that you didn't order it with p 90's. I also have an sg classic and just love p 90's. I also have p 90's on a yamaha semi hollow guitar which is cool also. I have a std strat and another one I put the David Gilmore emgs on. A tele a les paul a fernandes that has mini humbuckers as well as a carvin with its own unique pickups and a few others. They all have there own unique sounds. The fernandes with the mini humbuckers has a lead tone to die for on the neck pickup. The 80's yamahas are bad ass also. I went to the Byo website and holy moley if you option them out it gets pretty pricy. I guess ordering from there requires a lot of self control to get a bad ass guitar without going to crazy. Very nice job by the way.
Only reason I didn’t order p-90’s was at the time I had 4 p-90 guitars and zero with Humbuckers. This one is still my only humbucker guitar and has become a workhorse for me. My p-90’s still get the most use though....lol
@@VenancioPortalatin After I wrote that I realized I probably could of answered that myself lol. Variety is good. With the classic strat Tele and a humbucker guitar you pretty much have it covered. Maybe a semi and a mini humbucker guitar but that is just icing.
Brilliant..I'm going on the BYO website today and check out their custom shop Stratocaster Kits..great Job buddy always a Joy watching and listening to you..
Wow that's gorgeous! You're like me...got the building bug and can't stop! Ya do one, ya gotta build more! There's nothing like playing something that you've built. I know the feeling...awesome!☺
Thanks for the kid words. I'm very proud of this guitar so when someone digs it as much as I do it makes the work I put into it worth while. As to the pickups i'd go nickel polished but the raw is sweet too. These pickups flat out smoke. If you dig low output PAF style pickups you'll love these. I dig um and have been playing this guitar for a few years now and it just keeps getting better.
Thanks for the kind words. Good luck on your build. My only word of advice is take your time and don’t rush the process. In the end you’ll be glad you did.
Thanks for this series of videos - I've been researching kit builds and your videos helped me settle on this guitar, I will definitely be following your roadmap and I am pumped for my first build. One question - did you have to do any fretwork on yours? Or was setup and intonation limited to the bridge and nut?
Awesome videos. On this custom, how much do you have into it and what do you consider its value after completion? I'm really just trying to gauge whether to do a custom kit or buy off the rack. If it costs me $700 to build the kit and it's value is $700 after completion then I might as well buy a $700 Les Paul. But if you get a $1200 guitar for $700 build cost that's different. What do you think? How does the sound compare to a Off the rack LP?
Lane Smith with my upgrades & supplies it cost me around $825/$850. I think it's a superior instrument and I think it's as good as any lp Standard in the $2500 range. For me it was totally worth it. That being said it's important to know its a raw kit so it takes some work & skill to get it to that point. However, I would put it against any custom shop guitar out there.
Lane Smith as to the value I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $1500 but it's hard to put value on a kit beyond what you have in it. The quality however, is top notch.
+Greg Schmit I'm running through that Blackstar HT club 40 on the clean more vox style channel. The only pedal I was using was a fulltone OCD version 3. Had a very little amount of reverb on through the amp as well.
Greg Schmit cheers, thanks. Not sure exactly of the weight but I'd say in the 7 to 8 pounds range. Super light as it's chambered. 12 inch radius on the fretboard with jumbo frets. She's a beast.
Michael Richardson cool, you should be good then. I know it takes a while to build it so give a a few weeks then email them if you haven’t heard anything.
@@VenancioPortalatin Ok thanks, i was just wondering bc i ordered a diy guitar from stewmac awhile back and recieved it within a few days so i figured it would be the same here. Like maybe they had kits already packaged ready to ship. I forgot about all the options for upgrading byo has that stewmac doesnt offer. All i ordered was for the neck holes to be pre-drilled.
@@michaelrichardson6004 yeah it would ship quick if it was a stock kit but if you ordered a custom shop that takes time to build as they build to order.
jason mcgary yeah, pretty much. If you check out my other videos where I explain how I thin the last few coats with mineral spirits but it’s an all oil finish.
That's just amazing work. Fantastic sound and beautiful finish. I want it!!!
Pretty cool!

Awesome, thank you for the kind words. Means a lot to know my videos have helped you. If you ever have questions don't hesitate to ask.
Holy Cow, looks like a true custom shop and awesome tone. I would pay to have you finish one for me.
Watched the whole build. Wow!! Great great stuff. I love the way you play in the demonstration of the guitar is excellent. Great job!

Line Rider Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. It's indeed a great guitar. Has become my favorite.
Crazy nice work , in fact , "tobacco Burst" is a favorite ,,,,,,,,,,,,, but
Wow she's a beauty! Congrats
Gorgeous instrument. Well done!!!!
J Musacchio thank you
Nice.

Woops I now see you have a semi or 2. Cheers.
Damn that is an absolutely beautiful guitar.
Stellar work Bro! Looks and sounds great! It's giving me the itch.
Justin Juknelis thanks Brother. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I think it's a moral imperative that you build another guitar soon...lol
Venancio that is very impressive man. Super cool. Awesome sound, looks & review. Enjoy. Thanks.

Awesome, their custom shop stuff is unreal.
Custom shop byo. Awesome! A beautiful guitar done great.
Sweet, too bad they no longer offer this kit.
Thanks. Yeah, I saw that they stopped making it. Total bummer. It’s an amazing kit.
So informative and very nicely done!
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you dug the video. Thanks for watching
That turned out really well!

Yeah, I’m fully addicted to building. Even trying an original design.
Venancio Portalatin that's awesome!☺
Now that i found out about byo, thats where im going to spend all my money. Im so happy that they have lefty custom usa kits. Cant be happier
Awesome, you’re gonna love the kits. Really high quality. Thanks for watching.
got a lot of les paul tone/crunch to it, yet i can tell it's not a lessie. Very nice. thanks
Outstanding guitar man. Now you get to see other guitar player at your bands shows trying to figure out what it is.
Yeah, I have already been approached a few times.
That thing is gorgeous! Should I get the raw nickel blizzards or will the nickel polished aged nicer?

Nice one Venancio. I get the impression you quite like that guitar. Haha. Looks beautiful, sounds great. Good job to you and BYOguitar.
Yeah, it's become my go to guitar. I love it.
Good guitar, your videos have answered a lot of? about kits thanks...my band sixtycycleburn I play lp's mesa
I bought a jaguar body and custom design neck from byo I eventually plan on my own build
jason mcgary sweet, they make great stuff.
Hi, it’s been a really long time since you made any new guitar videos, where did you go?
I've been busy gigging a lot. I have some videos planned for the near future. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.
Awesom stuff ! I'd name that one Tiger! Just bought a melody maker style ( the import) Hope it all goes good . Doing it in red stain.
Thanks for the kind words. Good luck on your build. My only word of advice is take your time and don’t rush the process. In the end you’ll be glad you did.
Tommy nu tone. Sounds good man
If I got one , I would be the impatient one , and , glue it together , slap on the parts , and oil finish the neck
and that's it
lol, patience is the key on making a nice guitar. From start to finish this one took me almost 2 months despite how fast it appears in the video.

One question - did you have to do any fretwork on yours? Or was setup and intonation limited to the bridge and nut?
For this guitar the frets were spot on when I got it. On the import kits however, I did have to level the frets.
Thanks a lot!
Wow wow!

What pedal and amp are you going through? Sounds good? Did you talk to the company? How were they to work with? Again, Wow !

Could you tell me what the weight is?
What is the neck radius?
Which frets did you go with?

Howong does it usually take for a kit to ship an be delivered from byoguitar, i ordered on a week ago and never got a shipping conformation
Usually like 4 to 6 weeks to build & ship. Did you get an order confirmation?
@@VenancioPortalatin Ya an emailed receipt

So all you used to get that shine is the oil?
jason mcgary yeah, pretty much. If you check out my other videos where I explain how I thin the last few coats with mineral spirits but it’s an all oil finish.
Venancio Portalatin I watched them all. it looks like a gloss finish.is that just the camera or is it really like a gloss?
jason mcgary it’s really a gloss finish. Takes some work but it’s very doable with oil.
BETTER THAN A GIBSON! DID YOU HAVE TO DO A LOT OF FRET WORK?
Wow she's a beauty! Congrats
