Met Chief Sek’hu Hadjo, his family, and a small band of Yamassee/Seminoles in St. Augustine at Fort Mose’ recently. He’s the truth and has an immense amount of knowledge and understanding. I gave him a cigar, we took a couple of pics, and his family made a Seminole necklace for me. I felt at home.🙏🏾 🪶

As an Indian whose family was taken to the Caribbean and then born and raised in Europe, I cannot stress how much you need to pay attention to what he said about Europeans classing anyone that was not European as BLACK, I remember growing up seeing East Indians, Pakistanis, Chinese and West Indians being classed as Black... Now I made my way back to the homelands with thanks to the guidance from the creator (Sun, Moon and Earth), what an amazing journey my bloodline has had.
Use these things called haplogroups to find who you really are 😂 writen records are unreliable, people lie 🤷 your DNA is more accurate.

I am an indigenous Arawak native from the West Indies. It's refreshing to see someone speaking about the real heritage of the western hemisphere. One of the things they don't seem to know, or to really understand is that my particular tribe had been in the western hemisphere over 4000 years before the Asiatic tribes came to this part of the world. We often forgotten because we were pushed out of the Americas and ended up most of us in the West Indies Caribbean's, and even some cut all the way to the Polynesian Island. Of all the European try to commit genocide in our people some of us did survive. It has stories passed down. We do remember, thank you again for bringing out some of the real history of the dark skin people. Who are the first inheritance of this land? We are not Indians. We are indigenous tribal native of these lands. We have many different names, language, and culture, but we are from the same root. Thank you for bringing this conversation to the forefront and I look forward to listening to your podcast and perhaps in the future have a conversation with you.

If U have Blackfoot ancestry it would come up with some of the same haplogroups of Northern Plains Indians but DNA can't tell U if U come from Blackfoot. I’m 31. Born in ‘92.
My grand parents were born in the twenties, seven years apart. And my great grand and great great grand were born in the 1800’s.
My grandfathers mother was documented indigenous/native, his father was an African man who was “breeded” a Mandingo.. I’ve been treading this journey for a while am I am definitely going further into the future with this information. I was born in Mississippi and I always wondered why so many counties have names that are associated with native/Indian tribes. Ase I appreciate this podcast, let’s keep studying family.

It's definitely 🔥 I know that I am Creek based on where my ancestors' homestead was located and it's where my parents and their siblings grew up here in Georgia. What I've learned while doing my genealogy years ago is that I am Muscogee Creek! Now, you've taught me that I'm also Seminole/Yamassee. So now I know what happened to the Creek whom I had read had gone extinct.
My mother told me her mother was native Indian. Never dug further into the story, because history taught us we were from Africa. Speak your truth sir❤🎉

I'm 49 yrs old from Minnesota, but my great grandmother on my grandmother's side was chaktaw or Blackfoot or creole from Louisiana. My other great grandma was off the boat and didn't speak English. I know I have native and African roots. I feel like the prehistoric migrations of our people simply led to our populations all over the world. That however doesn't eliminate the fact that we all are essentially African and our forefathers migrated from Africa even before slavery and settled in different places, including America

I’m Black American and proud. I also recognize that I have mixed ancestry (Choctaw & Black and possible European somewhere down the line..). However I’ll say this - I think it’s interesting that Black Americans get push back for claiming Native American ancestry and are instead encouraged to claim their African ancestry and shamed for not doing so despite Africa being a whole other continent we have no contact while a lot of Blacks from the south can easily trace Native American ancestry due to proximity. According to my great aunt, my great grandfather was Choctaw and he’s documented as Indian in the census. Are family is from MS, the state known for Choctaw population. I don’t doubt my African ancestry I however cannot trace it. Native American ancestry easily traceable due to proximity. I would love to get to know more but am hesitant due to judgement..

It took literally from 1492 until 1981 for Europeans to realize that We were African anything??? I remember the colored and white signs. I remember transitioning from colored to black. James Brown cooned the black title for Us after MLK was assassinated. I remember transitioning again from black to African American. Jesse Jackson with the help of Alex Hailey cooned the African American title for Us. Warner Sallman created the white Jesus at the request of the church. I can confirm through research Chief is speaking facts. I started my journey of discovering my ancestors and heritage about 4-5 years ago and what I uncovered blew me away. My 2 great grandmother on my maternal side were very dark. My Huff (Paternal) was said to have African ancestry but after the male Huff tested Y DNA they carry Q-M242 haplogroup which is NA. My other great grandmother Collins-Gibson) actually have U5 haplogroup. I’m not very familiar with the U5 haplogroup. But I have traced her line back to Jane the elder Gibson through the Evans and Chavis. All my ancestors were listed as Black or mulatto on census records. My Collins-Gibsons are known as the Melungeon.

I was always told I was Indian..Where im from in Alabama.. we have neighborhoods called creek, Indian trace and so many more....the whole trail of tears came through where I high school was.
