It’s so true, folks hardly ever take into consideration that there is a human aspect to everything. In this world of virtual assistants, email, texts, trolls, and AI, we just tend to not even see others; much less, see ourselves in another. Heck, we barely even look at another, we just don’t even SEE others. We certainly do not give Grace, or allowances; we are rigid, hardened, I call them “Botz,” Robots. They will spout policy to you all day and not listen to what you are saying, not taking into account the predicament you find yourself in. They will not bend, or give the slightest glimmer of “understanding” your situation, nor in most cases, even give you the benefit of the doubt. However, were the roles reversed, they would be looking for all types of Grace, love and understanding.

Black Americans can only think of two parties when talking politics. They always criticize Republicans and Democrats. We have to start researching third parties, whether it be the Libertarian Party, Socialist Party or the Green Party. Study and learn about what each party stands for, and the policies for Reparations, Health, Foreign Policy, Environment, Housing, Criminal Justice etc. Once you find a party that aligns with your values join it. We have to stop playing the duopoly game.

Uncle Phil was my introduction into real Black centric media, news, stories, politics, etc. The other older spaces (Root, Grio, BAR) were too academy friendly, no offense to that community, but my concerns as a young hetero Black male aren't all the way aligned with what the academy is primarily focused on. And they also didn't speak in the voice that I could really relate to. It didn't resonate with the frequency that I felt should be had by anybody, claiming to be for Black independence & Black empowerment. I'm a millenial & I tells folks my age and younger about his channel & platform. Also, family, download his app and sign up for a membership. That's the first step we can take to cultivate and institutionalize voices like Uncle Phil so that what he talks about doesn't have to tiptoe around the rules that these other social media spaces (selectively) impose. All respect & props to our brother for doing this interview too. I hope that you have continued growth, success, prosperity and, most importantly, health...especially in this country.
