🎉🎉🎉 Who is Angelina Jordan ?
Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear.
At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more.
Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood.
That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old.
Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. AGT's designated "Super Fans" didn't carry her over into the final 5. The web blew up when she was dropped.
At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, graduated from high school, and has embarked on her professional music career. Her first EP under Republic Records is aptly titled, "Old Enough."

A nice first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone . Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out later this year. Angelina just recently released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

Just a hint, only select requests that include a link. First, and foremost; Angelina was not on that show to win. This was quite simply to promote and expose the US public to this prodigy that comes along maybe once in a generation. To win, AJ’s family would have had to sign a contract with Simon, and he would have been in control of her future. Her family would not allow that to happen. It was not question of money offered because AJ was already worth 2 to 3 million at the age of 13, and her family are very wealthy. I am sure America’s Got Talent was paid well by her production company Stargate, the hitmaking duo (Beyonce, Rihanna, Sam Smith). David Foster tried to sign her in the past after she won Norway's Got Talent, but the family did not like the contract. She is like nothing we have ever experienced.

This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. As well as her brilliant version of Elvis’s “Suspicious Mind”. She released her latest album “Old Enough” and it is definitely some of her best stuff. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although the soundtrack is really growing on me.

If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them.
Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true, you have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day, 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.”
From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.

She's now 17 so can you imagine what you've missed?
You will be getting all kinds of information (playlists and bio's) about her from her fan base. You spoke mainly about her vocal and artistic attributes at such a young age and even though you didn't talk about it, you knew within seconds after she started to sing, she touched you. She touched your heart. Getting goosebumps, starting to tear up and finding it difficult to speak during or just after she sings 'FOR YOU' are indications her love is in your heart already. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.
AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states, "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. I didn't realize you'd never reacted to Angelina Jordan before. She is something special. There are several cover versions of hers where she slows down the original song and adds emotion to it. She understands the essence of music. Angelina is another rabbit hole to go down. 🙂
Yes, that 'slowing down' is one of her specialties, I think. Not many singers can sing at a very slow pace and keep the right pitch. Angelina can!!

👣Angelina`s first love in music (since 2 - 3 yo) was jazz, and she sure carried that love with her through the years. Her conserts, since 9 years old, has been amazing events of mostly jazzy classics. Anyway, during these years she has practiced and challanged herself on songs from almost any genre, to develop her voice, her abillities in music, AND her love of singing. Music has been a large part of her life.
This summer she released her EP called "Old Enough", at 17 years old. In this we get to see her amazingly stunning creativity, and her jazzy mind and playfullness with music. Her growth has been wonderfull to follow since 2014, as she continuesly has uploaded her versions of great songs from each and every decade since the 1930. - 1940. Some songs you might not be familiar with, and if so you might be abel to appriciate Angelina`s covers even more, if you take a listen to the original version before you react. Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She performed FIFA AWARD song, and performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on CZcams with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.
The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do!

Hiring an influencer to get onto streaming playlists costs from $75K to $400K per song.

She has the body of a super top model, she speaks several languages and has fans all over the world, she is also empathetic and charitable. Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from *the remaining members of the legendary Queen* . Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrangement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition" (three years later they repeated their praise on TT in March 27th 2023 with the words "absolutely killed it".) Fantastic reaction. Normally we have to tell people to expect the unexpected. She is a true artist so she only ever shows what is needed to express the emotion. It's always about the lyrics and emotions, it is never about showing everything she can do. So depending on the song I have heard her voice described as light breathy without belting or power. Others have described her voice as being like Adele or Amy Winehouse, like Elvis or Diana Washington, like Duffy, etc. Yet always no matter which way she flexes her colour tone or range she would be recognisable in a choir of voices. That's why you can always spot her voice when she does her own backing vocals. The first clip of her with a mike is 18 month old I Will Always Love You, and I should tell you no one in her family are musicians or singers. Grandma Meri was also a famous child prodigy though, an artist and poet Angelinas first time in a studio I WHO HAVE NOTHING 6 years old. Audition for NGT was at 7 years old the Hungarian suicide song by Billy Holiday GLOOMY SUNDAY. most people will advise you to watch her I PUT A SPELL ON YOU a tour de force with a live jazz band age 9....If you want to see what she's doing this year from her new origional EP NOW IM THE FOOL to contrast that also from the EP ... Thank you Richard for a great reaction to our unique and wonderful Angelina., this performance is incredible showing just a part of her vocal ability, her arranging ability , her creativity and musicality she has been called an old soul countless times, the girl with a thousand voices, queen of jazz , the barefoot princess, . She started singing at 18 months there is a video of her in her crib with a toy mic singing a line from Whitney Huston. Her Granma a renown Iranian painter and poet played jazz around the house when AJ was very young and at 2/3 yrs old she borrowed her mums iPad and began scouring you tube for all the jazz greats she taught herself to sing and by 5yrs old she was asking her mum to sign her up for Norway's got talent , she had to wait until she was 7yrs old by witch time she had mastered jazz. Her first audition was "Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday AJ's favourite jazz great her performance went viral and AJ the legend was born ,she went on to win the show at 8yrs old. she has been wowing us ever since there has never been anyone like her and she continues to get better and better elevating everything she does , breaking musical rules , pioneering new paths she is also a humble , sincere kind and extremely loving soul who wants to spread love and kindness throughout the world through her singing since she was a little tot, with a giant heart to match her talent , we her angels(fans) love her dearly. When you want to know more about Angelina (she is 17 right now) in a short amount of time? This girl is Norwegian, so English is not her first language.... Watch this one on CZcams (may be you can make a reaction of it?): "Born to sing, Angelina Jordan, the early years (2006 - 2014)". It is a British documentairy from about 20 minutes with lots of information (including the reason she is singing barefoot at any performance till this very day) and it's a joy to watch. This is her own arrangement of this song.... Since Angelina was 7-8 years old she is heavily involved in every arrangemant she sings. She didn't win AGT-the champions due to the votingsystem they have. But I think this "loss" has turned out perfectly for Angelina. Take a look at her 'out of this world' renditions of "I put a spell on you" when she was 9 years of age, and "It is a men's World"she did at age 12 (yes, both before she did this song in AGT). By the way: there is also a British singer which is more than worth to react on: 19 year old Lucy Thomas from Wigan. Total different genre, but I think you will like it.
Angelina’s manage stated that AGT agreed she could sing on the show without any continuing contractual obligations after the show. Since the show is promotion for the finalists who continue afterward with contracts, then Angelina reaching the final round would make no business sense.

Great 1st reaction to my favorite vocal "Artist" (not just a singer, but master singer, arranger, lyricist & multi-instrumentalist). She is known as the girl with 1000 voices where she used 3 in this song alone, as you pointed out. She has been protected & held back by her family from the music industry to allow her as normal a childhood as possible & to finish her basic education. Well guess what, she just graduated HS & she becomes an adult (18) in a couple of months, so she is ready to blast off. She and her family didn't sign a Full contract...she has had Disney and a meriad of other Recording companies trying to sign her since 7. Her family has alowed her to do concerts, but no signing to keep her out of the lime light so she could have a childhood. She eventually signed at 14 with Republic, who has allowed her artistic control and would not promote her fully until she is essentially grown. Family is very protective. Oh, she finished 5th, a Indian gymnastics team won.🎉

While most other great vocalists such as Diana Aukudinova and Dimash love to show off their vocal techniques and hit impressive notes, Angelina is a true singer storyteller. EVERY choice she makes is about having us lucky listeners understand the story and characters of the song. Angelina has remained humble through her 10 years of performing on stage and at age 17 has already helped raised tens of millions of dollars for charity, mostly to help children. Her wise and loving family doesn't want her promoted until she is old enough to make her own career decisions.
Please don't compare Angelina with the Russian bear Diana. There are worlds in between. Diana is not in Angelina's league or reach.
