George Michael - Careless Whisper (Guitar Instrumental Version played by Chris Hampton)

- Here is my instrumental version of "Careless Whisper" by British singer-songwriter George Michael. Released as the second single from Wham!'s second studio album "Make It Big" from 1984, it was written by Wham! members George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, with Michael producing the song. Although the song was released as part of "Make it Big", the single release is credited to either Wham! featuring George Michael (in North America and several other countries) or solely to George Michael (in the United Kingdom and some European countries).
I played this using my Fender Stratocaster (Bridge Pickup) with the Zoom G2.1Nu with Echoes From The Past (EFTP Patch B0). Recording was done via USB to my home PC with Cubase.
The backing track was a karaoke one from the Karaoke Version website - www.karaoke-ve...
This arrangement was inspired by both the original version and the instrumental version by The Shadows on their 1987 album "Simply...Shadows"

This had been on my "to record" list for a long time but could never get The Shadows version completely nailed so I came up with this which used a few elements of that one and also took cues from George's original vocal line.
