My 2017 MacBook pro is still going strong after 6+ years lmao. Honestly if u take care of them MacBooks are great and last a long time so I think upgrading all the specs at the beginning and paying a little more can be worth it
I still have my Macbook Air m1 and the performance is still great, but I plan to upgrade to Macbook Pro M3 Max 14 inch, I just exchange my old Macbook Pro 2017 to my uncle to a Macbook air m1
In the process right now as a photographer to get the base M3 because even that was a beast when I tested it out. Loaded up an 8K RAW image in LR in 3 seconds flat, I could’ve fallen to the floor

Great video! I bought my M1 Pro MacBook Pro last year, and I use it mostly for music production and digital art. All of my plugins work great on the laptop and I couldn't be more happier.
@@angelzheng I think all the M-chips are pretty powerful, so I think you'll be fine with the machine you have right now. But it would be cool if you could make a "long-term user review" later on ^^

For the apps you just described including the Adobe suite I think what you got is a HUGE overkill.... you could do all these with half the specs and even less...I do 3D artwork with M2 Pro with half the memory etc and still is running smooth...
I edit 8K drone aerial and Sony 6K footage without any issues, I think you should check your footage and workflow parameters that can cause this lag.... for sure there is something in the codecs as you describe it. @@angelzheng I edited 4K with simple M1 and 8GB ram without any issue...

I'd love the silver if the black logo and the keyboard were white or silver as well. I just hate that pronounced contrast, I got the space black as a gift a week ago and thought on changing it for the silver but nah, it looks more sleek and I prefer a white charger more than a black logo and keyboard on the laptop itself 😂 all 3 colors are awesome anyway...
For around 5,000 CAD for such high end specs; I think you’re able to future-proof this for 10+ years! Try not to spoil your laptop and take good care of it - and I’m sure it will last for a very long time since MacBook series are known for their longevity so long as you don’t expose it to accidents or dangerous circumstances :)
My job sent me the Space Black; in my opinion it lacks the appeal the silver or space gray has. I always felt like I needed to wipe it off. Given your aesthetic, I don't think you would have been happy with it long-term. #Teamunnaturalscroll 🍃

My 2017 MBP can no longer update to latest OSX sonoma so need to upgrade. 7 years is great though but the timing is inconvenient haha

I’m still using my MacBook Pro mid 2012, but I’m gonna upgrade now probably M3 pro. The mid 2012 is a beast and it’s a satisfying decade of usage.

You'd be surprised! I'm currently using the M2 Pro and when I'm editing 4K videos with animations and graphics, it actually lags on me 😅
