About the Game:
Lies of P is an action role-playing video game developed by Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio, and published by Neowiz Games.
Inspired by Carlo Collodi's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, Lies of P tells the story Pinocchio, a robotic "puppet". However, unlike other puppets, Pinocchio has the capability to lie, which will play a role during important story decisions.
Puppets were invented in the city of Krat thanks to the discovery of a revolutionary power source, Ergo, underneath the city. Puppets soon became ubiquitous throughout the city, performing most of the menial labor for the populace. Foremost among the puppet inventors is the legendary Geppetto, who created Pinocchio. In order to ensure that Puppets would not be a threat, all puppets were bound to the Grand Covenant, which forbids puppets from lying or attacking humans. However, despite this, one day the puppets revolt, slaughtering most of the human population of Krat.
In addition to the puppets, Krat also suffers from the mysterious Petrification Disease which blinds its victims before fully petrifying and destorying them. There currently is no known cure to the disease. - Hry

I hated the Door Guardian. But I did manage to beat him. The next boss is one of my favorites. You’re in for a heck of a fight.

Mati, the fake Alidoro is not a good person. He killed the real Alidoro who was his partner and admired, over some petty fight. He was rudely dismissive of the the blacksmith chicks gloves, clearly lacking empathy. He colluded with the Alchemist to attack the Hotel in exchange of escaping the City. And the only reason he shriveled up when you wanted to attack him is because he was confident you won't be able to resist your programming (The Grand Covenant aka Asimovs law of robotics). He was just manipulating you.

Yeah, Sometimes Mati tends to like/trust the wrong people. When he gave him the glove that did not fit, I waited for this encounter to see him realize, but in the end IT took the Eugenie reveal to open his eyes.
Seeing Mati justify all what fake Alidoro say made me rage a bit 😂

Venigni's such a dilf, I love him, he does come off as arrogant and too bombatious at the start, but throughout the interactions in the game he's portrayed as caring which in turn makes him more charming!! And his previous mannerisms turn from slighlty annoying to so endearing!

Alidoro didnt just leave the hotel, he literally betrayed the hotel. Theres a dialogue that says the brotherhood, the cat, the fox and "alidoro" attacked.

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this yet but you can still get boss weapons later on from hugo. Dont want to spoil much or how but make sure to check up on him. Amazing playthrough so far!

You handled that Black Rabbit fight really well. And I'm glad you understood how the fight requires strategy as well as skill to beat. It's a great design, and one of my favorites in the game.
It really does make you think you're facing impossible odds, but it's actually completely fair. What a crazy, dynamic battle. I love it.

gank fight and by the time the elder comes you're drained of resources and his attacks are stupid fast. Laxasia was the nail in the coffin for me, even worse. Beat the game and haven't touched it again. AC6 and BG3 >>>>>> @@dirac_dydx1830

Love this way of explaining the revive. Sofia is the Dr.Strange of Lies of P. It is specially fitting because in Soulsgames my most used quote at Bosses is: "Dormamu, I've come to bargain."

Impressed you beat the BRB so quickly! Well done! It's one of my favorite gank fight in any game. It's very challenging and some aspects can be really annoying, but still pretty well balanced imo. Both the level and the main bosses from here on kinda just turn it up a notch in difficulty. Can't wait to see you experience it!

Bro, I started playing around the same time as you and got in too deep. I finished my third playthrough and got the platinum last week. It's been cool watching you make your journey around the same time. Lies of P is definitely the best non-From Soulslike ever made, and goes pretty much toe-to-toe with From imo.
@thrxshax how’d you defeat the nameless puppet?! I’m going for the no strings attached ending plus the platinum and this dude is on that stuff 😂.
@@deetooalmighty1129 I used a technique build with the Trident. On Nameless Puppet, I used the Perfection Grindstone for easy perfect guards in his second phase, got that stagger, and a big chunk of damage. For the rest of the fight, I focused more on dodging attacks and punishing than on trying to perfect guard. I think I also used acid abrasives. Hope that helps.
@@thrxshxI've got only the records, and some character story for platinum (and endings i guess). Eugenies quest has tha annoying part at the end where you can miss most of the end stuff, so i have to do hers all over. But this game platinum isn't as bad as i would expect

About the way til the Door Guardian, it is not bad at all, the problem was ignoring everything lol. Just kill the two giant enemies, they do not come back, and destroy the cannons. That's it, Ergo farming and a happy walk.
It's always funny seeing you breeze through bosses I have a crazy hard time with. The brotherhood boss took me FOREVER! The saving grace is that I beat the green monster in one try. Just makes me feel better after I see you make my suffering feel trivial.

Except then I almost wanted to unpress it after hearing you with "Alidoro". He literally told you he killed his partner for money and sold out the Hotel to save his own self, yet you're all "I love Alidoro". 😅
He's been so suspicious this entire time. The first time you met him you didn't even trust him and didn't want to send him to the Hotel. Trust your gut, dude!
Also, I haven't played the game (because the demo was too hard for me) but I've been experiencing it through your playthrough and it seems like the game wants you to Lie in all those options. I think the Lie options have usually been the nicer ones where you tell a lie to spare someone's feelings, so they might make you more human faster.
You should definitely watch a story/lore video afterwards!

Have you thought about playing Lords of the Fallen next? I really recommend it. Maybe not as polished as Lies of P, but a really good souls-like none the less. Most of the technical issues you might have heard about have been patched as well.
I'm curious about Lords Of The Fallen also. I think if Mati played it I might be able to figure out if I could play it or not also. 😂
I've finished Demons Souls and all the Dark Souls as well as Platinuming Elden Ring, but Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Lies Of P are too hard for me so I'm hoping Lords of the Fallen is more like the former games I mentioned.
I mean it's definitely a hard game, but while Lies of P is more like Bloodborne and Sekiro, gameplay wise LOTF is closer to Dark Souls 3. So if you beat DS3, you'll most likely enjoy it 😊@@FamousElf

Seriously? It has the same trick as the last fight. Keep your distance from the others and it's a 1v1 the whole time, just with occasional projectiles being thrown at you. Literally beat it on my second try, because I used my brain instead of brute forcing it.
When they switch members, the next active one buffs their weapon and speaks a voice line. So you always know which to focus on. It's an incredibly well-designed fight.

@@FSVR54its far from a horrible fight. Did you read what he said? You can't dismiss when someone explains how the fight works. Focus one of them at a time, the aggressive one, and stay away from the non aggressive ones, finish the last 2 close to the same time, deal with eldest. Well designed fight, its a skill check

For the guardian, it is best to use the amulet that speeds up stamina recovery. With that you neutralize somehow the shock effect
Idk what I was on in this fight during my first playthrough - I actually beat them first try, with half resources from having dealt through all the dungeon shenanigans beforehand. It felt epic!! Then in my 2nd play through it took me like 10-15 tries lmao 🤷♂️. Enjoying ur playthrough Mati!
Hey Mati! Awesome content! I just wanted to tell you that there is an amulet that helps you with the stamina recovery time, I think it will help. Besides that, really enjoying your videos!

both the puppet string and aegis are very helpful in this game if you find yourself needing to pick off multiple enemies or you run up against a tough mini-boss just FYI. I normally wouldn't mention it but I feel like you haven't really used them throughout the game!

Mati, sorry if this has been asked before, have you considered playing Remnant I and Remnant II, more a of 3rd person shooter soulslike, but I still enjoyed them and would enjoy watching you play those!
Hope you try the last ability of the puppet string prosthetic. Best legion ability in the game and the coolest. You can stagger enemies with it. Including bosses!
i haven't watched this whole video yet, but make sure you don't forget to go back to the broken puppet in the barren swamp to teach him more emotions!
Please try using the fully upgraded puppet string when you play next. It's final unlock is a game changer, especially for bosses.... It's by far the best arm imho.
Definitely a game changer! I was using falcon eyes most of the game and upgraded the string before the swamp monster. It was a huge help with the first phases of the end bosses.

30 in all stats I use. 30 health 30 vigor 30 tech and 22 (leveling it now) capacity, just got to the final area and facing the rematch boss
Dude use the puppet string +3 with stagger grindstone and holy sword of the ark +5. Insane set up for W regular and NG+. Staggered Door Guardian like 3-4 times
There’s a way to skip the second brotherhood fight and it’s so hard to do I finally got so pissed I ran in there and beat them. 🤣 BTW that’s not Alidoro. That guy murdered Alidoro!

I destroyed the 2nd brotherhood fight with my trident. I highly recommend using a new weapon since you aren’t using the sword as intended. You can definitely create or find something more powerful IMO. Or check out some tutorials on the sword to really get the most out of it. Hopefully that’s helpful.

About Alidoro. We know from Eugénie and Hugo that he used to be a very good person who didn't care for money and who saved people like Eugénie. The only reason why the fake Alidoro killed him was because of money. You did the good thing by killing him. It made you more human as well.
I really went from loving him to hating him to loving him to killing him what a character lol
I know that's what the game wants you to believe, but I'm not sure it adds up. I've been thinking Alidoro is "the real Alidoro" and the change in personality and the story about killing Alidoro is an attempt to distance himself from the people he loves, so they will not be in danger. Alidoro is wanted by the Alchemists and knows they will capture or kill his loved ones to get to him, so he adopts this alternate persona to protect them.
Otherwise, I don't think most of his dialogue makes sense. For example, he's trying really hard to make sure you know he doesn't like Eugenie, but that doesn't make much sense if he's an imposter trying to convince you he's the real Alidoro. The only real problem I can think of is that the cryptic vessel refers to two Alidoros, so you do have to believe the item description is intentionally deceptive. But taking everything into account, I just think it makes way more sense of his motivations.
@thrxshx Alidoro is for Sure an imposter, because he surely didn't regrow a Finger. That's where you can know. The fact that he tells P the plain truth is because he thinks he is save and can vent, because if P would work like a "normal" puppet he would not be able to Attack him. He is mocking P by telling him. The real Alidoro was a good Guy, this one is scum. Really deserved what he got. What still remains to be seen is if P is a good guy or not.
@@TheMadHexa Where do we learn the "current Alidoro" actually has five fingers? I'm assuming you mean something other than just taking his word for it. Again, his antagonism towards Euqenie in that scenario doesn't make a lot of sense if he's an imposter trying to fool everyone into believing he's the real Alidoro. You'd think he'd be more subtle if that were the case. As is, he really, really wants you to know he doesn't like her (just like he wants you to totally know he doesn't have four fingers).
@@thrxshxthe imposter (parrot) just doesn’t like Eugenie and expresses his annoyance at her, when he says she was really annoying he didn’t even name her he just said “someone” was really annoying. It was the imposter, ur creating some alternate storyline that doesn’t exist when the game flat out tells u what happened lol
The rabbits 🐇 fell on my second try, bc i accidentally cheesed abit with the pile of trash that meant to save you from the wave attack. The big guy just couldn't reach me😅. Well, in NG+ i killed them in the proper way. Maybe the easiest after Parademaster for me.
to be fair i know you did make an announcement to everyone that you only run by things after you've already been through it once, but you did actually run by everything at the beginning of the arche abbey without killing it lol
