- "We shall extend and display respect to all others which reflects our own appreciation of humanity. We shall carry our pride quietly, neither boasting of ourselves nor speaking badly of others - often a dishonest method of self-praise. Yet we must be unashamed of our principles and honest in our criticisms."

Bruddah Iz ~ Israel Kamakawiwi'ole ~ Hawai'i Aloha. Bruddah Iz ~ Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. I do not own the the rights to this song. It is shared here for my love of the man, his music and his home. Please visit Mountain Apple Company to purchase any of the footage of Bruddah Iz you see here.
I lived in Hawaii for nearly 30 years and I long to go back more than words can say. This song always makes me cry for the most blessed place on earth.
some of the most beautiful people in the world, hearts of gold. rest in peace "iz":, (
Música de JuanLuis Guerra
so beautiful to see all the elders singing along with the younger folks, holding hands, joined together....much alofa & fa'aaloalo
It is beautiful.
you can hear the little ones joining in.
Beautiful.
DU HAST DIE MENSCHEN WELTWEIT MIT DEINER SCHÖNEN MUSIK GLÜCKLICH GEMACHT. DANKE IZ !!!
You’ll never hear another angelic voice in this life time like Braddah IZ!!
I used to think Darren Hayes from Savage Garden had the most angelic voice of all time until I heard Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. No comparison. Israel truly has the voice of an angel. I don’t think anyone can sing like him. No offense to Darren though. He is truly, madly, and deeply amazing too.
You right this guy's voice was just out of this World.
There's many angels, Robert Cazimero, Jerry Santos, Gabby Pahinui and sons, Don Ho and more.
The Best
This brings tears to my eyes, so beautiful he was, the embodiment of the Aloha spirit
I'm a painter and his music always plays in the background as an inspiration source. Iz is now part of the Hawaiian Royalty. May God bless his soul! May God bless Hawaii and his people forever!!!
Israel hat uns so wunderbare Musik geschenkt. Gott belohne ihn
im Paradies. Er hat viele Menschen
mit seiner Musik erfreut.
Wie gerne wäre ich auch einmal auf Hawaii.
Whenever I feel homesick I listen to this song. He was truly the voice of Hawai`i.

I feel homesick and I'm here on Oahu , just the feeling of all the Aloha
It is a shame to have someone with such a beatiful voice to be silenced during our lifetime. Iz. you will be missed. Rest in Pease.
Hearing this community sing this Sacred Melody pulls my heart into sweet Aloha !
when I feel this man's wondrous spirituality through this beautiful song I wish I could have my life again to be a better man.
I think that you get it
It's never to late
+Harvey Ball You are a complete idiot!!
+boxingmates Thanks for your goodwill and kind compliments
Wishing you the best my friend
I remember watching this as a little kid and I started crying. I looked over to my mom and asked her why was I crying, being a kid I was oblivious, when I noticed that she was crying too. I don't remember exactly what she said but it was something like "because we all love each other". Thank you for bringing back memories.
Every night my little daughter falls asleep when I play this song very softly .I hope I can visit Hawaiì with her someday before I join Iz.
Beautiful memories
I've never heard of this song and I am honestly overwhelmed with emotion. Music is love.
omgosh dude I thought I was the only
Come to any Hawaiian party (a local one) and everyone will come together to sing...Hawai'i Aloha and Hawai'i Pono'i are two of the most beautiful songs ever written in ANY language...
what? never?
Traditional Hawaiian gathering song when everything all pau. Everyone hold hands like this. Love this song.
Clayton C. Rajah dat my brada das how
lots of Hawaiians settled in British Columbia, Canada; many inter-married with First Nations people here, especially the Coast Salish. I heard this song first at my Squamish Auntie's funeral. Love it, love Hawaii, love our Indigenous peoples, and the beauty of all our cultural forms. xo
And the way he closes his eyes as he sings -- like he was already in a better world. He may be gone, but he'll always live in music like this.
What a beautiful voice he is now singing with the angels. God bless him and take good care of him xxxxxx
This man has a tremendous amount of energy that radiates even after death. He was a great person to bring everyone together with his music.
Till dis day we embrace this song we Tongan 🇹🇴 n my mom grew up in Hawaii n wen I play this she gets teary eyes n sing along and so do I long live braddah iz Cuhz
I'm Polynesian(Samoan tribe) to our beloved brother Israel Kamakawiwo'ole we will always miss you and your music; you will always in our hearts; we will also see you again in the next life;
This is a beautiful video. Iz and the Hawaiian people make it very happy and peaceful. I'd like to keep the memory of it in my heart. Aloha.
I absolutely agree with Hawaiian Code of Conduct in consideration of current life and the history of the island and now ensure myself following with it for our long lives with peace. Thank Hawaii of givingr this valuable proverb "We shall extend and display respect to all others which reflects our own appreciation of humanity. We shall carry our pride quietly, neither boasting of ourselves nor speaking badly of others - often a dishonest method of self-praise. Yet we must be unashamed of our principles and honest in our criticisms."
From Hawai’i and live on O’ahu…he had the voice of an Angel 😢❤I love our Aloha spirit ❤
Most people do not understand Hawaii. Haole born, but Kama Aina in my heart and soul. To Pele, her land, and her people: Mahalo Nui Loa, and Aloha forever. Keep Kauai pure.
As a native Hawaiian, this song has a lot of spiritual strength and guidance. Songs like these reminds me of how my ancestors are counting on me to make them proud. iMiss u tutu man. I hope to make u proud of me someday..me ke aloha mau, kou mo'opuna~
"IZ" may not be on Earth any longer, but he & his music are alive & well in the spiritual worlds. His incredible voice is an expression of his great love for life, & he more than earned a beautiful place in the higher worlds, which some call heaven.
Es geht so ein schöner Frieden von dem Lied aus.
Ich verstehe die Sprache nicht.
Aber sowas von schön !
I live in argentina, i'm paddling in a va'a club, and I listen this song before every race with my teammates.

It's an old hymn, found this in a hymn book at my family church in Kane'ohe.

Holy God!
I wish I could write such a marvelous song
hearing this song for the first time in my life today and I feel such an emotional stirring. even started tearing.
Aloha Oe, brudda Iz. The world is lesser without your presence and voice.
After having abandoned playing the Uke since I was in Hilo Union back in the late 70s I've taken it back up. This is one of the songs I dearly want to be able to play again. I've never quite forgotten the lyrics. They've been with me all these years.

Bruddah Iz, we were blessed with your songs. Until we meet again in the skies above, keep singing for the angels.
Beautiful! Brother IZ you are the greatest!
The song is so heartfelt, that no other words but "Aloha" can best describe this melody. This song brings back a lot of memories.
One of the more remarkable voices ever. No pretense in his voice or his words.
Look closely when he closed his eyes, there's tears flow on his face...Love him and feel sorry to him even his sick he still sing for his people and for all of us. RIP My lovely hawaiian SON.
A friend of mine introduced me to Iz's music just a few weeks ago. What a wonderful voice that man had. His music fills me with a sense of peace. The world lost a very talented man when he passed.
Hawaii will always be strong cuz of men like bradda iz. Always being an example of hawaiian pride to us young kids growing up in the 90's. IMUA !!!
Uma criança,pura, inocente enviada por DEUS ALTÍSSIMO pra transmitir, amor, paz esperança e certeza, que existe amor!
The world is better place for having had you as a part of it. RIP Iz.

This song cradles my heart softly and each strum gently sways my heart to some peaceful sense.
love his love for love. let he who it's without sin cast the first stone.
Just beautiful, so full of the Aloha spirit. God bless you IZ and thank you for such glorious music. 🌸
We send Hawaii and it's people our love and bliss each Hawaiian with all the joy your hearts desire. ❤❤❤
I feel sorry for the Hawaiians no one came to their help when America terrorised their country. It also happened to Samoa but Samoa had New Zealand army there and German army there and between the three countries they fought for it Germany left and Samoa was separated Western Samoa was owned by New Zealand and America of course always wanted something so they got the other half which is know as America Samoa then in 1962 Western Samoa gained independence from New Zealand but before they did the most highly titled chief who ruled Samoa was killed by New Zealand military along with other people who protested on the beach. It's sad other countries have to go through so much pain just to get their own countries back
Happy birthday bruddah Iz. May your beautiful soul rest in peace
bruddah Iz taught me an important lesson at Aliamanu......I remember it to this day. "Cuz...you dakine...I dakine...I biggah den you...I win"
Aloha IZ...
A tear of joy and sorrow every time I hear your name on the wind ..
such awesomeness that unites a people!!!!
Something that strikes me about this video: the people are there in the moment, sharing with Iz and each other, not on their cellphones recording as they would be today.
❤❤❤❤❤mahalo for your island 😂and your people and your Tupuna❤❤❤❤

Humanity is not retrievable. Respect for all suffering creatures on earth. Peace
One of the most beautiful anthems ever written and sung by one of the greatest souls. Bruddah Iz suffered more than most people will ever understand, but he turned that pain into beauty. Rest in peace, and may you spend your eternity flying, just as you wished.
My mom use to sing this song to me when she wanted me to sleep
did it work?
Yep sure did

To my wife who lost her battle with cancer, one day we shall be together once more.

Brings tears to my eyes. This song is like a hymn of God's love and our connection to one another.
It's amazing that people who've never met him, never even been to Hawai'i, can miss him. His music, his life transcends time and where ever people can still here his music, Israel can still touch their hearts.
64 people that did not live in Hawaii and witness the magic of Bruddah Iz.
R.I.P
Bruddah Iz, his talent far exceeded his size. How fantastic to see the blended faces of the people of Hawai'i, faces of aloha. I just returned from there and can't wait to go back.
I've been twice in the past 2 years & going back next next Feb..it's the most beautiful place I've ever been to:)!
I never met a Hawiian I didn't like. They are just nice people.
Mahalo I love brother Iz music/Hawaiian
IZ you have really brought back the true feeling of why we are Islanders and why us Islanders are strong in culture through the music that you have given us. R.I.P Bro IZ
I worked at Queens in Cardiology and Mr. IZ, sadly, came in often. He was a stinker about his diet and his family didn't help, but on Sundays, oh my Lord, when they all came and he felt well, oh my Jesus, the music that came out of his room and down the hall!! There wasn't a sound in the halls everything was still, but the music , the music you felt Heaven in your heart for those brief moments. God was there, in Mr Iz. Absolutely!! May God hold you gently in His arms while you rest, Iz!
i wish hawaii could go back to the time like this when i was a kid. seems like the older i get, hawaii changes for the worse.
I was just thinking that as I watched this! I saw some of the great musicians play and most of the new ones are not in comparison to them. Cannot compare!

You're stuck in Nostalgia. Although respect on your opinions.
Mr. Andrade , my PE teacher @1:22. Aweee... growing up in Hawaii...

@@Omoroseangel I went to Kawananakoa too, in the mid-70's
@@debbie7866 oh wow, the good old classic days! Hawaii has changed so much since then. Hawaii had a special kind of Purity I feel before the 80s hit.
may we all go to Heaven to hear braddah IZ sing for us again.
No can help but cry every time.. The Tutu Wahine in the grey shirt and ginger lei, my hanai mom, she is with Isreal now and I bet you they sing this and MANY other great songs together everyday for Our Father. But I miss her so much. Aloha Ma Mona and Daddy Able Kahele.. You are still so loved
