Are We Allowed Here? - Metal Detecting a State Owned 1760 Historical House For Their Museum Opening

- It's not very often we get access to a State owned property for metal detecting, let alone a State owned MUSEUM! But when the museum board of directors leases the land, it becomes a different story. We were asked if we could metal detect the property and donate all the finds to the museum, which happens to open to the public the very next day! Not a lot of time to properly work the grounds, but for an opportunity like this we will do our best and try to unearth some cool things that will be displayed inside for future generations to appreciate!
If you want to visit or make a donation to the Joseph Turner House / Museum you can visit their website at: www.unionforgeheritage.org/

Quarter Hoarder always makes me laugh also Doug with that sharp, dry wit. The best. They compliment each other well.
Love the banter between Quarter Hoarder and Dog Tag Doug. Great finds all.
Thanks Donna for inviting us out. Despite the heat I had a great time! Thanks for lunch too!- Musket Ball Matt 😁
Thanks for coming! It was a great dig and so much fun- But. That. Heat. LOL 🔥 I’ve got an 18’acre 1820 Property I’m lining up…… -Donna Digs 😁

The neckerchief slide is Wolf cub, which would be kids in second grade. Great hunt, awesome location, good to see Doug back at it
Yeah. They call them “woggles”
@@AbsolutelyAlexa I always heard them called slides. Always thought the woggle was a special kind of slide, but I guess they're all woggles.
cub scout
I also found that very same pilot with a parachute this year a little west of Philly and it also had a bunch of paint still on it !
My granddaughter, 11, loves to paint the metal toys I find ! I love getting the kids involved in my hobby !
Awesome hard times token. Great finds for everyone.
I just laughed so hard at Doug saying
"I'm a dingleberry"!
😂😂😂
@@dogtagdoug6751 You are the exact opposite of a dingleberry. You are such a cool and positive guy. Absolutely hilarious by the way!
That was really funny!
My best friend s mom owns a Tennessee historic site in JEFFERSON city Tn. IT WAS the Union Headquaters of the South. The Yankees took in and made it a hospital. I detect it alot its awesome!
I love your channel and enjoy seeing sll the interesting finds of our history
I liked the " parachuter " toy, lol. Nice finds guys, thanks for the video Jason!
Hey Jason it's really nice to see that your group has had the privilege to detect an actual State historic site .
I would like to some day have the same chance here in NY .
It's not very often they will agree to let someone detect these sites .
You guys should feel honored , and what a great group if finds !
There was an amusement park near Buffalo NY ( on Grand Island ) called Fantasy Island. It has been closed for a few years now, but it was booming in the 80's
Wow rare opportunity!! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome guys! Setting great examples for what we do👍
The dingle...."I'm a dingleberry"....always entertaned!

Amazing how many harmonica reeds are found in Europe and the U.S. We find them all over in the Midwest also.

We have a similar deal with a south western New Mexico ghost town, they allow us to detect all of our finds go to the museum, absolutely satisfying to walk around the museum and look at your finds behind glass
I dug 5 wheats in a sidewalk strip the other day. Then found a rosie shortly after.
I metal detect an area that is state owned . I've never found permission but I go anyway . I find 50 cal rounds from ww2 Era everywhere. I always hope to find something of real historical value ,maybe someday. I need to hook up with you guys someday your only about an hour or less from me . Stay safe

A neckerchief slide is called a "woggle".
Great hunt guys!!!!! I always enjoy your videos!
Very cool location, awesome token.
Beautiful finds 👍👍👍👍hope to meet you this Saturday
I will for sure
Neckerchief looks like a wolf 🐺
Great finds
Nice to see a svedish coin in the first hole (Im from sweden thats Why) ;) a coin that was used up until 2016 when all coins and bills where renewed with new looks and so.
Probably a Swede on vacation dropped it
I just wanted to say keep up the great videos. Because you make the best videos ever
Wonder if some dirt was removed in the 1940's? Seems alot of the coins were from that time period. Nice hardiness token! Wonder if the woodsey part of the yard would have held some old relics. Tombac and bell were at least colonial.
Wooohooooo awesome. Thanks for coming out! See you soon!
That wheat did look more like Abe Vigoda on the front 😂😂
16:54 there was “wolf” Azarenka Cub Scouts that’s probably what that’s from
Awesome video guys , cool looking finds. especially Rich's hard times token
Musket ball Matts token.. but I love it as well
That's a harmonica reed PLATE. The reeds are missing, most times they are. 5 silver day & a nice hard times token.
Nice token
I shouted loud in swedish
THEY FOUND A SWEDISH COIN 🌞
This video reminds me of Sunday just gone when I was out metal detecting with my club in England and I found a token ( I like finding tokens 😊 ) . When I got home I gave it a clean and to my surprise the token was issued by a Hatter ( Maker of Mens Top Hats ) from my little town in the north of England in the Victorian era. 😃. The sad part is I would of loved to loan this token to the museum in my town ( I remember walking round that museum as a youngun in the 70's ) except due to council cuts this museum was closed years ago. 😭.
@@dogtagdoug6751 Cheers Doug. I will have a look and see if we have a Historic society. 😊. We must have because my little town goes way back to the Saxon era and the odd Roman coin has even been found here. 😃. HH from across the pond. 😊.
Awesome finds guys , I’m wanting to head towards the museum now ! Especially since local finds are prevalent now , hopefully you guys can go back and hunt surrounding areas and add to the finds . Thanks for sharing
If you ever want a tour, let me know :)
I think that was a wolf on the scout tie. Based on all of the quartes found, I think someone was chucking them at cats in the 30's -50's.
This is an interesting commentary… a 1700 house and property most of the targets dug are 1930-60s I’ve had similar situations and ask why .. is it possible the property was rehabilitated in the 30s so that early targets are not detectable ? Or obviously a few targets of age but not what you would expect from such a site. But I love watching your videos
Been waiting for this one! 👍
It was an amazing day!
Great video guy's
I see the glue is back this week!
"Walking around, shaking hands, kissing babies..." Your forgot signing autographs and posing for pictures. I thought of a couple new nick names... Now that Doug has the new detector..."Dug Way Down" ...And Rich "hoard" Van Winkle.
I just hope leaving the grass roots exposed very long doesn't kill the grass. My luck. Nice video
Fantasy island , there was a amusement park , Buffalo/ grand island. Area. Unless there was multiple Fantasy Islands
Hello, this Gustaw's coin is a swedish 1 crown with king of Sweden itsworth about 10 US cents,
That Swedish coin looks like Jack Nicklaus on the Bust side.
Wish I was able to come detect I was in Gettysburg
Y’all gonna be the legend crew
Close up those holes before the grass dries up and dies. Excellent hunt there!
Hi quarter hoarder that is a wolf cub jr scouts they call it a woggle the thing to hold the neckerchief together in the front
Be careful out there in the heat & sun. Use sunblock, hydrate. Nice finds!
🌵🌵Hello from AZ. Thank u for all the videos
@@dogtagdoug6751 Hello Mr. Dog Tag😊🖖 how would you guys clean that Swedish Krona coin?
