- How to cure salmon eggs with salt.
First, you need to choose a good and matured salmon eggs and to be able to know how - eggs fall off when you lift your fish while holding the belly. Then after harvesting, river cured eggs for 20 mins. this will hardened eggs shell. Drain and put in the cooler with ice, ready for salt curing when you get home. You can follow the rest of the steps in my video....
-non iodized sea salt
-iced cold bottled water

Those cured eggs look perfect!
I haven’t caught my lose egg salmon yet, soon I hope :)
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks my friend. Hope you can get yours too, very soon…
Thanks for sharing that with us, Wynrick. I do not freeze the eggs that I cure, I keep them in the fridge and they stay good all year. I only freeze the eggs that I don’t cure, sometimes I just river rinse and air dry and then pack them in air tight container. Wrap with aluminum foil to prevent freezer burn. I’m coming over because I need some loose roe. 😂👍
Thanks Adrian. This time I’ll try not to freeze those eggs, still sitting in fridge right now. We’re heading to Saugeen this Sat. if the rain is not bad. Tight lines!
@@WynricksFishingAdventures Good luck, hope you get into a few.

Daming pamain yan kabayan
Good for 2 years kabayan.😀 thank you.
Do you have any videos of you putting a hook throuvh the egg after cured??
I don’t hook through the egg( single egg pattern), I always tied them with spawn sacks.
Ganyan din ang ginagawa ko kaso tap water ang gamit ko. Good luck and stay safe.
Thank you bosing.
Nice…how do you do River curing and can I purchase the small bottle of salmon eggs?
Put eggs in a ziplock and leave in the water (river) for 20 mins then try popping it, if it’s hard enough drain and put in the cooler with ice.
I'd be willing to sell you some eggs when I get back to PA as long as you live in a state its legal.
alam na boss pag nagkita tau sa ilog sharing is caring ahahhaha joke
👍👍👍 thank you bosing…
Does it have to be the river water the eggs came from or can I use other river water? I already have the eggs at home from last night
You can use water from other rivers as well.
@@WynricksFishingAdventures much appreciated.
They look good Rick. How and when do you separate them from skein. I think the hard part is separating the eggs from skein and cleaning the blood line. It’s time consuming.
These are loose eggs, you don’t need to separate from skein which is hard for me too. You need to choose a hen that eggs fall off when you lift, and very easy to clean. Thanks a lot man.
Is adding brown sugar good?
I haven’t tried adding brown sugar on loose eggs but I’ve heard it’s good.
Do you eat it?
I don’t. My friend does, and said it was good.
Thanks for sharing. I use brown sugar solution after using salt water. Is'nt burn if we keep it in freezer? How do u keep it in freezer?I never tried though.
Put them on a ziplock and wrap thick with newspapers then freeze. On a glass jar with tight lid, you can leave them sitting on the fridge. Actually I still have the leftover from this video, they’re still good.
@@WynricksFishingAdventures Thank you. I found after 4-5 casting the roe sac are getting white. What could be the reason? I used river water with salt and tap water(cold) to rinse.
@@s.m.omarsharif435 when you scrape eggs, make sure there’s no membrane into it coz that tiny membranes turn white and thats normal to premature eggs. Even loose eggs will turn white after many cast. When I noticed that to my roe bag, I change right away.
@@WynricksFishingAdventures I used loose roe. No membrane. So, no chance to jave bloods. Also, my another question is if the collected with membrane can I cure it with salt water?
@@s.m.omarsharif435 with membrane ( skein ) I prefer to use pautzkie curing powder. Air dry after 2 days in fridge, then cut into smaller chunks when u use it. You don’t need to tie.
Thanks for sharing but I try exactly what you do but it doesn’t get hard , I believe I do something wrong , might be not enough salt or ?
Did you have the loose eggs or you scraped eggs from the membrane?
If you want the hard ones, you need to have the loose eggs, river curing itself will do the work plus the salt to last longer. But those eggs that you had right now, you can still use it.
If you scraped eggs from the membrane, it won’t get hard.
How to cure eggs with membrane if we cant get any loose roe? Can we remove membrane and do it in Salt Water?
@@s.m.omarsharif435 yes, remove eggs from the membrane and do it in salt water.
Why the bottled water? Spring water is like tap water. Is it the chlorine you're worried about?
That’s right, I’m worried about chlorine and yes you can use spring water also instead of bottled water.
Can I buy fertilizer salmon eggs?
I’m sorry bro, not for sale.
hello lods bagong dikit kaibigan sana po mabisita nyo po ang kulay ko salamat po
I stopped curing my roes,I don’t even wash them in river water, the natural scent from roe drives fish crazy,
Thanks bro… 👍👍👍
What happens if you can’t river cure the eggs?
Breaks easily and color purity wont last long. But they’re still good.
@@WynricksFishingAdventures Thanks. I don't like to harvest or dispatch my fish at the river. Unless the hen is shooting out eggs, and I have a bag handy, I can river cure. Otherwise, I guess I will try to salt cure without river rinsing them. Hopefully it will be ok.
@@5ive1ne9ine that should be ok.
Magkano isang bote kuya 😁😁😁
