I don’t have a fryer basket, but I did watch a video where he boiled water, removed it from the heat then, using chopsticks to stir with, he gently stirred until they separated. Seemed to wrk well

You should be using a glass container when curing with salt. Using a metal one is a no-no..😮

Curious- everyone else says don’t use metal…..your thoughts?

same reason people say not to serve caviar with metal. Wood, or abalone if you're fancy, will not impart flavor onto the eggs

Hello, what is the name for the substance that appears to be brown sugar before the salt?

Where can I get the original salmon roe like this?

The ocean or a river...its not sold anywhere so unless you know a fisherman you need to catch it yourself like the guy in this video did

Your comment makes me sad. I forget sometimes that not everybody is capable of catching their own salmon and getting their own roe. Thank you for helping me realize how lucky I am.

@@HardRockMiner I dont feel like a failure because there was no way to catch salmon in CA, unless I were to poach. Salmon was shut down in 2023 and looks like it will be shut down again this year.

salt is what does the curing. people don't normally add wasabi, that's just his personal touch. Many Japanese people use soy sauce and dashi
