It’s NOT a sequel, it’s the 2nd HALF of the story. It wasn’t originally supposed to be 2 parts but ONE 4-Hour Cut. Sadly Miramax split the film in 2 to make more money and because they didn’t feel that a 4-hour film would preform well at the cinema. Remember, when this was released Marvel wasn’t making Epic 3-4 hour movies yet. So longer films WEREN’T Mainstream again yet. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was just making EPIC movies Mainstream Again.
Marvel made 3-4 hour long movies?
@@sea_triscuit7980 Once Avengers happened they went to 3 hours for the big team up movies. Now the TV Shows are one long movie broke up into parts but to be able to follow everything you have to watch BOTH the TV & Movies where as originally it was just watching the movies.
Cool story bro.
@@MrPapageorgio Entertainment Weekly & E! News Daily covered it at the time.
Glad they split it into 2 movies.
Elle codename is interesting in that the California Mountain Snake is a non-venomous snake with color patterns that allow them to mimic the extremely venomous coral snake. This kind of mirrors Elle relationship to B.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 wrapped up the whole saga beautifully, I really don't think a Vol. 3 is necessary. And I highly doubt he's going to want to retread old stories when there is so much out there for him to make films about.
It's based on a book that was written in two volumes. That's why the movie is also divided up into two volumes and those volumes divided into chapters. Only two volumes exist and they are one complete story. A third volume (film) would have to be entirely made up by new writers and therefore wouldn't match the first two at all.
thanks, you gave me a great idea for one of my next videos
One important aspect not mentioned is the eye pluck in V1 foreshadows her training. Pei Mei plucked out Elles eyeball, Beatrix plucked out the crazy 88 members eye, and she also plucked out Ellel's eye..that shows she learned this in her training with Pei mei... just like the exploding palm technique..
Gordon Liu also plays two roles.
*Pai Mei strokes beard and laughs*
Volume was the utter climax of a 4 hour movie. Total masterpiece.
Keep these gems coming Josh! I love your energy in these.
#20: highly doubtful it's the same jacquet. after all, more than 4 years have passed since the massacre at the little church.
11: he's not the pai mei. he is pai mei.
It is very clearly NOT the same jacket. The jacket in the flashback doesn't have any leather accents. For a list about details that seems rather big to miss.
Amazing video Josh from what culture of kill bill moments misses in the film, fantastic job.
Absolutely love the Francis Higgins quote at the start of #15 😂😂😂
New drinking game. Take a shot every time a WhatCulture host says the word "Iconic".
Who doesn’t appreciate the sequel?? That movie was amazing
The shadow puppet of the bunny could be a reference to the bunn Quintin was asked to take care of during the filming of Pulp Fiction. A dead woman making a bunny shadow puppet. A dead bunny. RIP
Random question
If a person was hit with the 5 point exploding heart technique and never took five steps for the rest of their life but instead forced themselves into a seditary life....would they still die right away or live out their lives completely immobile?
Cause here’s a few thoughts 1 what if the technique is hit on the same person would that reset the original technique 2 and what if the person sits in a wheelchair self moving or electric would that go against the effects and 3 the person could make those 5 steps really meaningful like one step for his daughters wedding, another for an important award ceremony things like that, man it’s crazy how a great movie can make you think
I’ve also wondered this.
It damages the heart outright. They would probably live longer then they're supposed to but it wouldn't be a long life.
They’d go out like Elvis.
This scenario plays out in Fist of the White Lotus. This is the film that inspired the technique Tarentino is using. Pai Mei was fighting Gordon Lui’s character (who plays Pai Mei in Kill Bill as a callback to this film) hits him with the five steps punch and at the fifth step he falls down the stairs where he is discovered by his allies. He is nursed back to health and lives to fight another day to get revenge 💪🏾🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸🔥✊🏿
Beatrix using her right hand to blind Elle is significant? What? For using the arm that nine out of ten people use to do anything? That's a reach. I mean, I'm left handed so if I were in the role it might be significant but not really here.
Very true. But its a film about revenge, and Tarantino is such a nerd, I almost believe it lol
B.B., not just Bill and Beatrix, but the extra layer... BB gun, as in a child's gun!
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's Mr. White telling Mr. Orange about getting shot in the gut and the kneecap not Mr. Blond
I caught that as well. It was Mr. White explaining to a wounded Mr. Orange how painful kneecap/gutshot is. Surprised WhatCulture flubbed this one.
I love when a gen-zer FINALLY discovers an AMAZING movie...then proceeds to tell us how it was never appropriated till they stumbled upon it
The closing credit montage was put together by Robert Rodriguez. His band Chingon also performed the song (Malagueña Salarosa) that's playing on the soundtrack.
And not trying to be that guy, but in Reservoir Dogs, it's Mr. White that talks to Mr. Orange about how painful it is to get shot in the kneecap, not Mr. Blonde.
Best closing credits ever, IMO
Real good. The list surprised me.
Uma keep your knickers away from John Carradine 😳🤣
Josh you're a joy!
I’m a Tarantino super fan and I missed a lot of these. It isn’t The Pei Mei though it’s just Pei Mei have some respect 😂
That was driving me crazy! 😂
@Beth B SAME.
I love Closed captioning haha "And Venita Greene's Cup Head"
Making me wanna watch it again! Now do I blow the dust off my dvds or just stream?😂
Mr White tells Mr orange that the kneecap is a painful place to.get shot it......come on man!
One egg I never see mentioned is that “the house of blue leaves” is a play about a mentally disturbed woman who is ultimately murdered by her husband
It’s not THE Pai Mei, just Pai Mei. And STOP saying “actually”so damn many times.
Did he just tell us about the bunny ears, and then demonstrate a completely different type of bunny ears?
*Rigamortus wears off after a few hours no way a skeleton can even have it since it’s a stiffening of the muscles*
Kill Bill can't come to 4k soon enough. Such an amazing film
Connection between KB II & Django - Dr. Schultz/Paula Schultz. 👌
A nod to your theory about Umas right hand belonging to Pei Mai, that post credit scene shows her using left hand on crazy 88 dude
If he ever does a continuation of kill bill it will most likely be a series
You taunt me with your shirt! I'm STILL pissed they canceled that show on that major cliffhanger!!
Ah, the Daryl Hannah tie to Blade Runner is neat ... I totally missed that easter egg. That was such a unique way to die that Daryl wouldn't have done it again unless asked to. I can imagine Quentin Tarantino directing Daryl, "So, you remember how you died in Blade Runner? Can you do that again?"
The fight between Elle and Beatrix is my fav movie fight scene
I watch both volumes
The White Honda is also in Reservoir Dogs.. 😉
Paula Schultz is also said to be Dr King Schultz’s wife from Django
California kingsnakes prey on other snakes, especially venomous ones. Sound fitting for ol Elle doesn’t it? That was absolutely intentional, not a mistake
There's also a red Honda Civic in Death Proof.
@4:22 That was a VW van in Jackie Brown, NOT Tarantino's 1981 Honda Civic that was driven in that scene. C'mon, Whatculture. Give me a break.
i mostly didnt know the old master character was called 'the' Pei Mei...
I was thinking Beatrix's Baby
I effing love Kill Bill!!
I’m pretty sure it was Mr. White who told Mr. Orange about the gut shot pain, not Mr. Blonde.
Correct. And damn you for posting it before me!
There where supposed be total of seven volumes because he wanted to tell the brides story all the way up to her wedding practice.
it was mr. white, not mr. blonde, that tells mr. orange about being shot in the kneecap.
I have to disagree with the point made at 8:55 about Bill not killing anyone even though its in a deleted scene he does kill the man who said Bill killed his master and the mans students too
Oh yeah, Michael Jai White baby!
I could be mistaken or maybe just an error, but watching with captions on I thought it was "Bebe" rather than "B.B."
Mr. White tells that to Mr. Orange, since they're in the car together as he's telling Orange that info. Mr. Blonde didn't say it.
Everybody's heart pumps blood differently. The five point exploding heart technique well almost always have a different distance depending on how strong your heart is. I'm sure there would be people who could only take 4 steps as well as people who could take up to 10 maybe. The amount of steps would never be an exact science as everybody's anatomy is different.
So what you're saying is Chev Chelios would probably walk around for another 90mins or so? I think we have a great starting point for Crank 3.

Quinten’s last movie will be Kill Bill 3. The side story of Vernita Green’s daughter seeking revenge allowed by Bee for revenge killing her mother in front of her. It will also complete the story of Elle Driver, Sofie Fatale, and Hattori Hanzo. Just what I imagine..
Bill's car... amongus?
You missed the most obvious reference; when Bill says B.B. is a “natural born killer”.
B.B. - Burmese Boa?
“Part 2 isn’t as appreciated or as watched” …….ummm. What? Where did that come from? Both films are on the same level, no? I’ve only ever seen them as the same film….just split up. Fair few people deffo like part 1 or part 2 better than the other, but that statement at the start of this video ain’t the truth
'cause the only actual vipers are the only ones who actually posed a threat to The Bride;
20 things that just happen to happen in a film
Release The Whole Bloody Affair! I would love to see the full cut in chronological order. The Snyder Cut of Justice League was 4hrs long: we, the people, deserve The Whole Bloody Affair!
With the deleted scenes too!
3:27 - is that a fucking Hardy Bucks reference?? 😅
Why do you call him "The Pai Mei" as if it's a title. That's his actual name.
After credits roll and she's driving she was supposed to have a stunt driver was unavailable at the time she was talked into driving and she crashed
It's not THE Pai Mei. It's just Pai Mei.
Okay, a lot of these were reaching. That aside, did I mention I once drove a 1980 Honda Civic? It was blue. Scrappy little car.
For the love of Christ increase you mic volume. Every video from you I watch I have to have at max volume and still isn’t loud enough
It’s one 2-part movie, dude
It was mr. White who told that to mr. Orange. Not mr. Blonde
Why does he say "the Pei Mei"? It's the man's name. Would he also say "the Bob Smith"?
I always assumed that Elle was bitten by the snake still slithering around in that trailer. She wouldn't see it coming. (sorry, had to say it.)
Drama movie (kill bill vol 1&2)
Mr white said the knee cap was one of the most painful places u can get shot not mr blonde
Kill Bill 3 will never happen. During 2 while Uma was driving that VW Ghia Tarantino kept insisting that she drive faster on the dirt road becuase he wanted her hair to fly back better. The Ghia wasn't in great shape safety wise and during one take she crashed the car and got seriously injured. So injured it's derailed her career. He didnt apologize for years and it ruined their friendship.
I prefer volume 2. The Pai mai is superb
1. As said, it is NOT a sequel, it is the second part of a movie split in two parts.
2. The jacket that he unbuttons in the chapel is (obviously) NOT "the same jacket", that he buttons up at the end.
Two complete wrong facts in the first 53 sconds. Stopped watching after that. Make your homework.
That's not the same jacket.
Well I never thought I'd see someone confuse the word 'ninja' and 'diva,' but the only one that qualifies as a diva in the Ninja Turtles is April, and she's not. Even the female ninjas in Kill Bill don't qualify as divas. What are you smoking, mate?
Only 2 👍 🎥 Hannah IN!

Most of this is a bunch of speculative internet hogwash - come on now you can do better.
Rigor mortise is gone after 12 hours. So no that not why.
