Here's some context. His prime was at Barcelona, that's where he played with Messi and other legends too. Messi wasn't in his prime yet, but he was a wonder kid. And the first Messi goal in his career was assisted by Ronaldinho. Another epic anecdote is when Kobe Bryant (rip) who was a great friend of Ronaldinho told Ronaldinho that u r the best ever, Ronaldinho told kobe come with me and i'll show u who's the best, and he was talking about messi. Kobe actually told this story, kobe later on became a big fan of Messi.

Rondaldinho was one of the best to ever do it but he was also one of the flashiest. I think that, minus the injuries, Ronaldo, THE REAL Ronaldo was the best and most dominant payer of that era. I think it is safe to say no-one enjoyed playing football more. Except maybe Paul Gasgoine of England the only other player I know of who played professional football like they were a kid down the local Park having fun with their mates just as Ronaldinho did.

Talent wise.. I don't think there's anybody comparable to Ronaldinho.. His prime/career as a whole were short but man there were nobody like him before and there will probably never be anybody like him again. There's nothing he could not do with a ball and it looked so fluid and easy..

His height as well. Not many elite dribblers had his physical frame. He would be more agile than attackers but taller than defenders. That’s wild in any version of football. You either just a Messi fangirl or never actually watched football lol, he didn’t retire when “Messi was ready to take his place”, he got sold by the club to AC Milan because Pep didn’t want him in his team. He played top level football in Italy for a couple of years, then went and played in Brazil for many years too before he was actually retired.

Ronaldinho was excellent, for like three years. Messi and CR7 have been amazing for almost 20 years. Yes, he was on their level a couple of seasons, but it is a vast difference in playing at that level for such a sustained time.

Not sure where you get your facts from, but Ronaldinho was a star at 18, why do you think PSG signed him in the first place and he continued to improve for the next decade. He played late 90’s all the way to like 2010’s I believe but wow the memories I have of him. He’s the reason why started watching soccer AND actually enjoy it. And it didn’t matter what team was playing the audience would cheer for him so loud and nonstop. He would get his round of applause for mins straight nonstop every time he would leave the field. He is LOVED and respected by everyone who has watched soccer

You can clearly understand the importance of Ronaldinho to the game when you see the reactions of everbody. It ´almost imposible not smile. We had a lot of legends as messi, Ronaldo Nazario, CR7, all of them fans of Ronaldinho. In terms of skills with the ball nobody will get close. He 's retired , he retired a few years ago, his peak was between 02 and 09 roughly, mainly the 3 years he spent at Barcelona, where he was absolutely insane. but he is not an active player unfortunately (Messi and Ronaldinho played for Barcelona, Barcelona had Etoo and Henry as well at that point who were all about the same level, frightening team)
