Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is approximately 185m high. King Kashyapa in (AD 477-495) choose this place as his new capital and fortress. He built his palace on top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. still we can see the part of frescoes preserved carefully. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.
