Thank you good sir. Believe it or not my first razor when I started DE shaving was the Muhle R41. Oh my god, it butchered my face on the very first shave! My god it was horrible! It took me a while to come back around to it after going through the gauntlet of razors (i.e., EJ and Merker). I finally developed my skills enough to attempt the R41 again, and finally was able to get a GREAT shave out of it. It’s an impressive razor for sure, but you need to have the skill for it.

Nice shave Paul💈💈 Took the old R41 for a spin and not a drop of claret, good job. Mrs H did a wonderful job herself today, just beautiful. Soap actually sounds good, it works good it seems. SOTD: Declaration Grooming "Dark Fall" soap/splash/EDP, Karve "CB" brass razor w/Nacet blade, "Hive" brush by RazoRock, alum, witch hazel and AV 5in1 balm to end...Super I sport a goatee all year, so I don't worry about the November no shave, I just let it grow out for a month and damn happy to trim it when time to.. Great video and results today, thanks. See ya next time.
Mrs. H always brightens your video intro. Such a burst of color today! You are a master with the R41. A close and blood-free shave! I have the R41 only because of all the talk about it being so aggressive. I will say that it was not as scary as I was expecting. But I do focus and go much slower when I use it. The R41 is definitely not a daily driver for me. I only shave with it to prove to myself that I can 😉 As an aside, I contacted Muhle to ask for the blade gap and exposure of the R41. Their response was "We do not release those specs." I was a bit surprised to learn that Muhle was hiding that information from their customers. Anyway, I digress. Have a great rest of the week. One thing that seems to go unnoticed in your videos is the music which you use to accompany Mrs. H's beautifully artistic floral arrangements - a calming prelude as we sit down to enjoy the next 20 minutes, or so. A nice touch. Well done! Do your musical tastes naturally/normally lean towards the Classical, I wonder?

Lovely shave. Plum scented, sounds rather nice actually. My own sotd was my pearl k2, with a derby blade. Used my BRV badger brush with Fine American blend soap. And finished with Brut after shave. And as always, beautiful flowers Mrs H

Another great shave mister H. I was thinking you should try Pitralon classic if you can get your hands on it. It's the green one It's my favorite aftershave and I think you would really love it.
Maybe just a mustache for November?
I have both versions of the muhle r41, the 2011 is an absolute beast the 2013 is quite mild in comparison to it, lovely scent plum

Hi Paul From my perspective, the volume levels of your videos are really low. I have to crank up my volume almost to the max to hear you.
Great SOTD Paul as usual hope you and mrs. H are doing well. If you don't grow a Goatee try something different, try a Mustache. I feel there's more to Shave with Just a Mustache and find more manageable than over a Goatee. Just my opinion. Take it easy ✌️
The Mühle R41 was the first double edged razor I bought after many years of using multi-blade disposables. My one word review is "nuuuurrrrrssssseeeeee!!!!!" although I was using it with a feather blade which I now know I should have expected to be brutal 🙂 I upgraded to the Mühle R89 grande long handle that was much better and more forgiving but now I just let my beard grow and trim it occasionally 🙂 Great work, Paul and Mrs H 👍

I use this razor once a week with the blade I used with other razors, so it's usually 4th or 3rd used blade that comes with Mühle R41. Greetings from Jarek G!

The R41 aggression is overrated, is nice razor there is very efficient. There are lot other razor., there is a lot more dangerous and aggressive. The R41 have been my daly driver for about 4-5 years now, normal with Silver blue, kai or pol silver blades..
hi paul. i have tried these safety razors for a while now but i just cant get on with them. i always seem to cut myself to pieces so i have given up. i have returned to using the gillette mach 3 razor and blades, i find it so much more comfortable, smoother, quicker, and a closer shave and never ever cut myself. i still use some of the shaving cream you have talked about in the past as i like the scent of them.
I had not used the R41 in over 1 yr; tried last week w vikings sword 4th; horrible:puller and tugger=aboted. Used a different razor/blade. Now 3d ago I usedr41 w new gillette plat=excellent

Nice shave Paul. Please do a side by side comparison between R41 and R41 tribute by global shave club (razor actually made by Romer 7 in India).
Maybe this year just grow a handlebar moustache rather than a goatee!
