    • Tom Silva, along with his family, laid the foundation for a successful construction business that later became well-known through the television show "This Old House," which premiered in 1988. Tom and his company, Silva Brothers Construction, were invited to be the permanent contractors on the show by producer Russel Morash after impressing with their work on the set for "The Victory Garden."

    • Even in his mid-70s, Tom shows no sign of slowing down, actively filming new seasons of both "This Old House" and "Ask This Old House," and working on construction projects. He advises homeowners to proactively maintain their homes to prevent future problems.

This old house doesn't get enough credit as being the first DIY show ever and everyone else follows in its footsteps

This Old House and the true craftsmen that work on the various renovations is on a category of its own.
There’s no comparison to the other phony shows that have numerous scandals and lawsuits for poor workmanship.
TOH is the real deal !!!
