- ARE YOU HYPED?! Embark suprise announce a trailer dropping within less than 24 hours confirming a new game-mode, Attack & Defend, which is likely closer to a search and destroy mode OR similar to Rainbow Six Siege.

Also people were saying this could be like the TF2 style OR Battlefield Rush style Attack/Defend (not similar to R6/Tac FPS games) so we will have to wait for the trailer tomorrow before we go further into depth with our theories. Thanks for helping me out guys
With the FTC banning Non-compete contracts. Embark are free to do whatever they want in the vein of battlefield.
I loved Battlefield Rush mode. I’m an old BF2 : Bad Company, BF3, & BF4 player. So I’m invested in The Finals. Love to see what they do next! ❤

Yeah I know a lot of streamers etc love these types of game-modes so even that could snowball into it
this is what i really want. this game deserves to be big. however, if embark doesnt get their balancing down, it might not pick up as much traction as it could.
Here's an interesting thing my IT friend told me about: "$y$" on the horizon map is some kind of a code that means it was ripped right from the game files

Crazy idea over here , since CNS hacked into the finals and VAIYA is tryna regain control right so what if scotty and june helped the defending team(VAIYA) via comms like giving you objectives for the whole team to complete in order to regain control, like cutting off CNS's backup which stops the attacking team from respawning . So in total of 4 or 5 objectives in order for CNS to win? idk just brainstorming over here
It's a cool idea I mean you could say on the other side, imagine if Scotty OR June was behind getting CNS in THE FINALS in the first place... 0_0

Depending on how the community receives this and embark fine tuning the game mode I think we will see it in a ranked mode down the line. Maybe completely split ranked progress and rewards from other ranked playlist where players have the opportunity to get 2 separate set of ranked rewards throughout the season by making it to diamond in both modes
Yeah honestly I think two ways of obtaining the diamond skins would be awesome, so players are forced funnelled into playing one specific game mode, for sure balancing and adjustments will need to be done, but I hope the community will respect the devs a little more

More game modes are just W’s even if you don’t like them. I’m not the biggest fan of power shift however it still is a good addition
Yeah I said in one of my videos, for newer players the current gamemode is kind of hard to understand until a little time researching it, but having a mode people are used to, with THE FINALS twist? That sounds like it's gonna be hype!
This will likely be a combination of team deathmatch and search and destroy. Embark has been trying not to fall into the classic FPS game modes, so they will come with something similar but new and fresh in the finals style. Let Embark cook.
Sounds like a plan! I think having something where players are roughly used to what the overall idea is, can be way better for the experience. Cashout from a new perspective is very hard to understand what is going on haha
I can also imagine a game mode inspired by experiences in games like CSGO, R6S, or Valorant, which would be exceptional. This could greatly help to re-engage players in The Finals by introducing an even more distinctive approach to gameplay while preserving the game's unique identity.
I have also envisioned a "Rush" type game mode, which is my favorite mode in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. Let's not forget that Embark Studios was co-founded in 2018 by two individuals who worked on the Battlefield franchise at DICE. Many aspects of The Finals remind us of Battlefield, but judging from the preview of the video thumbnail, it appears to be a 5v5 game mode. This casts doubt on the feasibility of a "Rush" mode in this context, due to the smaller scale, which didn't seem entirely realistic. Although this idea is more of a dream, there's nothing stopping the developers from drawing inspiration from it and adapting it to The Finals.
If we focus on the first suggestion, they may have developed one or more unique maps specifically designed for this mode. However, this hypothesis is challenged by the teaser video that appeared since the 2.4.0 update after launching the game, which clearly shows that the mode is set on existing maps (notably the SYS$HORIZON map in the video). This is unfortunate but understandable, as introducing specific new maps didn't seem realistic either.
I desire a game mode that redefines The Finals while maintaining its essence, as previously mentioned. The elements at our disposal that provide clues about what the mode would look like limit this hope, but that doesn't mean the mode will be a failure or uninteresting. However, I worry that it won't revolutionize The Finals in a way that propels it to new horizons.
In any case, the answer to my questions will be revealed in less than 24 hours, and I hope I'm right and wrong!
Awesome comment! Yeah I actually keep forgetting that Embark are ex-Battlefield developers and they would have primed this game up really well for a Rush mode, either in this one coming or the future maybe in a larger scale too.
I agree with you though, from looking at the hints in the trailer, first of all that location for an “attack defend VALORANT/ R6 style” is pretty weird so you could be right. I do think that they want to make a mode that relates to the newer players more, because Cashout is very hectic from the get go.
This mode is very new player friendly, even though it might be challenging depending if it’s Rush or Val Style, I think it’s worth it, but we will see

That’s immediately what I was thinking. I remember fighting over the point in older titles… it worked fine with small numbers. Especially if they force you to fall back after losing a point…the battle always stays fresh.

Hope the modes fun I not a fan of power shift because you either get rolled or you roll the other team and we haven’t really gotten events

Yeah for a "casual" mode, power shift is too objective focused. If both teams arent focusing the platform it becomes TDM with a meaningless objective
Its not always roll or get rolled. Yesterday I played 5 in a row and got rolled once with 3 lights on my team 🙄 other than that the other 4 games were super even. As in we were so close to the center of the obj the entire match. It was a beautiful tug of war. There are definitely roll scenarios but it's not always that.

It's actually a pretty neat idea! Imagine a new twist where players take turns playing as either Viiya or CNS, randomly chosen. Picture this: CNS is trying to plant a virus in the servers for future hacking, while Viiya's job is to defend against it. Gadgets will still be key since you'll need to both defend and attack the objective. This might explain why heavy shields have been weakened. And as for the map, Horizon could be perfect. Its modular design allows for various configurations, like different parts of Horizon or smaller sections. It's like a Lego set of maps! Plus, Horizon could serve as a 'backdoor' for CNS. The recent Power Shift in the game's story could be why Embark is rushing to finalize these changes for the new Attack and Defend mode
I think an attack/defend mode is what ranked needs if they do it right. I'm really hyped to see how they do this. It's more interesting than anything I've seen so far in the game. Honestly, my favorite scenario of playing The Finals is in the last round of tournament, just 3v3, I think the game actually shines when things aren't SO chaotic.

We need to bear in mind, if this gamemode is going to be slower paced and more towards valorant, we will need new maps for that gamemode, or at least modified existing maps because the maps right now are made for running in, and not for taking it slow
Yeah I’m not sure honestly what’s gonna happen, maybe it just works out well if it is like that. Again that Embark twist and there’s a lot of eyes on them for this update!
Even with warts and all, I have faith in Embark/Nexon and The Finals. I've enjoyed this game for the most part, and while it is F2P? I happily spend on the costumes and skins, just to chip in at the "tip jar". I like that The Finals does NOT use actual funds to improve game ability. I really appreciate that. So? Spending on Battle Pass and the occasional awesome costumes is my way to saying thanks to them.
I also like that Embark isn't rushing ~ They're bringing us stuff at a pace, where they can internally improve. My only suggestion to Embark is that they should spend less time nerfing, and more time working out weapons/equipment to where it's like Paper-Rock-Scissors in the arena.

100% glad we are in the same boat! Yeah I think whilst some people can complain about skins etc people don’t realise that this is literally a F2P, the cosmetics and battlepasses are there to support the games development, keep servers running and pay the devs for their efforts and work they’ve poured into this game, I’m really excited to see where it takes us! I think a fun casual mode would be blackout.
Team of lights with dagger VS a team of heavies with the slug shotgun.
Whole arena is blacked out and dark.
Lights get thermals while heavies get a sort of flashlight with low range.
The objective is "glitched" arena light modules which is the heavies goal to take and "reset".
Is it balanced?

Ohhhh damn yeah that's sick, I think they did have NVG in the game but removed it and to be honest, sometimes limited game modes don't have to be perfectly balanced, it's for fun at the end of the day
I can't imagine not having gadgets. But I think they should have fixed load out like they have had for special events.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much but I really hope they experiment with this mode. Change health values/regen speeds, or how revives work, gadgets, limited classes, etc. I assume this will be a LTM too so they can definitely get away with this.

as someone from a small population server where we already can't find ranked or tourney matches this is stupid.
They need to setup rotating game modes for us or clear out some of the least used modes.
Yeah I mean let’s see where they take this, I do agree that it sucks some places don’t get the opportunity to play because of servers and player count. I’m hoping that soon they will start addressing those issues because everyone should be able to play THE FINALS regardless of location
There's no way in hell it's weapons only with no gadgets. I don't think there's a single class-based game that removes your abilities in any mode, that would be just terrible design and also get boring really fast.
Yeah I don't think so either, I'm not going to be mad if there are gadgets, as I think they do spice it up, I'm just talking about how it merges with the gamemode, but we don't know confirmed what the game-mode is currently, it might not even be R6 themed. Time will tell!

I think it’s S&D, all classes, unlimited weapon ammo but ALL ELSE have limited ammo including specialisations.

This “Search & Destroy” mode will either make or break the game. As someone who loves this specific game mode I am HYPED for it. However, if they mess up the balancing or try to make too many changes to where it doesn’t feel like a SnD gameplay, a lot of people (including myself) will be disappointed. The Finals is supposed to be a fast paced game with lots of chaos, so it will be interesting to see how they market this new SLOWER type game mode… just my thoughts :)
I will say that I agree in some way as I was born with this game mode (coming from CS:Source) and my biggest fear is exactly that, this game was not made for this type of mode. BUT I will say allow it to initially be a little weird to start off with, and let them make adjustments accordingly. I'm going to enjoy the mode casually for now, then we can start talking about what it could turn into. But I agree that this mode is way more universally popular across the board.

If they have siege like mode they definitely should add in side arms. Not being able to switch weapons when you are low or out of ammo is really rough.

I really hope you are absolutely wrong with this prediction. A single life mode is not what this game was developed or balanced for, but id imagine revives are available from statues like normal. Powershift already has massive issues, and I don't have much faith in a smooth launch of a new game mode.
id agree. i have 400 solo hours in this game and don’t believe another basic mode will retain or draw significant players either. cheaters and the fact that all classes are not playable across all skill levels, especially in ranked, are the real things we need fixed
Personally, I don’t think this is going to be comparable to truely tactical games like R6, Valorant or CS2 but rather far more comparable to other games with Attack/Defense such as Overwatch or Paladins, both games being very casual with unlimited respawns
I was thinking bf rush or even insurgency with limited lives that replenish if a point is captured, pushing back until either teams lives are diminished, points are captured, or time is up. If that's the case, will it be two rounds of who gets further? Or strictly large battle with randomized team placements every game
Yeah I am thinking the the maps might be too small for a larger scale mode, but then again the maps are not that bad, and it could work but I’d love to see a Rush mode in this game that’s for sure

And you are just waiting for them to say that they gonna pick you up or something like that. Also it shouldnt be easy or make some sponsors easy and the better ones extremely hard to join

saw some kiosks or smth in a previous teaser so im hoping since the game is centered around getting money that you will have to access kiosks or buy stations to change ur loadout and u could maybe only do it between rounds. if they do this i wonder how they will price the weapons relative to each other, maybe keep the default 2 for each class free ? i.e. sniper revolver ak sledge

Yeah it's strange because they are really cool additions but they are not used as much VS the standard FCAR/AKM, XP-54, Lewis right now

My only wish that I want to get updated/introduced into the game, is allowing progression skins to to sort of overlay on-top of 3d skins. Like the raygun, card throwing knifes, guitar sledgehammer etc.

There is one game everyone is missing which is team fortress 2 there was a game mode called attack and defend where there is one team that has to push a cart (attackers) and the other team has to stop them (defenders), the finals has allot of similarities with tf2 but none is realising it, light is like the scout, heavy is similar to heavy lol, and you have medium like an engineer/medic, i would really like another mode called control point, where two teams compete to control a point on the center of the map, there is also 5cp and these mode are. very competitively viable check out pro league for tf2.
Yeah I played TF2 starting all the way back in 2013ish so I agree that THE FINALS gives me some of that nostalgia back sometimes, I really loved playing the low grav orange maps with friends, great time :)

For someone like me who doesn't think the game is fun enough to main but very fun with friends. I used to watch it a lot on CZcams but now think it's pretty boring to watch.
My main game r6, I can still watch some to learn new things but with the finals I already know most strats.

I really hopr in The Finals! The only game i'm so into for a long time. The thing is that they can make any great mode, but if they won't fix the server and cheaters issue the game will slowly die..

Yeah I agree with you, it was just a question in the air because I’m worried about how strong other gadgets might be. Someone suggested maybe limiting certain gadgets closer to that LTM mode but I think we need to see how it plays first
I have faith, but my concern is that every mode already plays so differently. The casual/competitive rift may widen even more…
Hmmm maybe and that’s a good point, but I think everyone finds their “niche” in games with a variety of modes, I know people that only play for fun and queue power shift :)
@@THiiXY Ya I’m that way myself. When I’m feeling casual I play those modes. Notwithstanding the issue with niche is that you need the player pool to support each mode.
However I’ve noticed if I turn crossplay off late at night I can’t get any ranked matches. The community is too small…
Playing ranked between 12 and 3am is brutal… I have to turn crossplay off just to stand a chance.
For real, I typically rotate between ranked solo and casual with friends but I do agree when you say the community is small, I have been starting to recognise names I played with earlier or from previous days haha

@@THiiXY CNS is cool but just from a name point of view Vaiiya is almost automatically better. And it’s hard to go wrong with black and white.
I stopped playing the finals after 100 hours, the gunplay felt meh. Movement was great, and game mechanics for the most part was fun and engaging but man that gunplay was so shit imo.
I only played during beta and after release. Maybe it’s better now…hopefully
Interesting you feel the Gunplay to be lacking. Is it the animations? Is it the feel of the weapons? (Some admittedly do feel better than others) just wondering because I really think its great gun play, but it could use more balancing imo..
Honestly, the open beta and end of season one felt fun to play. I am having the least fun across the board now using weapons. In my opinion, the finals are in the worst spot it has been yet. I do miss non ranked tournaments way more than the single match version of ranked.
Having the crosshair not locked to center screen is causing a bad feel.. The bullets don't go where your aiming and it feels awful. I mostly use shotguns and melee because of this. I hope they fix it because precision weapons like FAMAS feel so bad!
The TTK is probably not their cup of tea. In some ways I agree, it'd be nice if weapons felt more impactful.
I like the longer TTK, mainly play halo and quake. The issue is that I feel the ADS is not accurate and the gun animations feel weird and clunky despite the sound and impact “feeling” being good

I wish they would just remove defib from the game and just decrease manual revive time a bit. Turn the fights into dogfights because you really cant balance all the weapons here so that they are of equal uses.
Yeah maybe this mode tackles things like that, then we can test it out and see, this can literally go any direction and tomorrow we're about to find out!

I really hope they lock aiming to center screen. The guns are hit scan, so if im aiming at them. I should hit them. I mostly use shotguns and melee because the guns feel so "loose"
