- Johnny Walker would face Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 294 with the winner possibly receiving a title fight. But just minutes into the first round this possibility was forgotten, after Ankalaev landed an illegal knee on Walker creating a strange fight-ending sequence. Moments after the knee lands the referee pauses the fight and asks the doctor to evaluate Walker. But due to a language barrier and the doctor's inexperience with UFC events, this caused the fight to end because Walker and the doctor could not communicate with each other clearly. Walker and Ankalaev would become frustrated after the bout was called off and ruled a no contest causing Dana White to enter the octagon to calm the situation. #ufc #johnnywalker #shorts

"Hospitalized" means going to the hospital bro, that does not prove that he was actually injured, use your brain.

@@shrxgs if you go to the hospital and tell them you have any issue and they try to treat you, you are then hospitalized, it literally means nothing other than that you went to the hospital, if he wants to release actual evidence of injury he should do that. This is not evidence, beta.

@@someguy701 a knee to a very obviously downed opponent is not the same thing as an eye poke that is something that happens in literally every fight because of the gloves.

That's maybe business and sports on paper but fighters take it very seriously if you seriously ask any fighter if they want to continue after an illegal knee most of them would say yes
@@JakiForhan and that's the problem. The doctors and refs need to take some agency and not allow fighters to decide if they can continue. Almost all fighters will attempt to continue from a fight altering blow because that's how tough they are but refs/doctors need to stop them. If someone is clearly hurt by a foul regardless if they say they want to continue the doctor and ref need to step in to stop the fight because the fighter who fouled now has a clear and distinct advantage given to them by an illegal move.

@@drysoupswalker speaks Portuguese, they needed to bring a doctor that speaks the same language as him, and if he didn’t answer, they stop the fight, walker even said that he wasn’t completely out or something, he wanted to continue, he seemed to have his mind straight, but they brought a doctor that speaks English.

Johnny walker is my favorite mid-tier fighter. He still has time to improve and has already made significant improvements - I hope he continues to rise. He's charming AF and looks like a freaking superhero. I wonder if he changes gyms or something if he can reclaim his top tier status.

Nah I disagree and actually like what this doctor did. Anytime a fighter takes such a hard illegal blow you shouldn't ask the fighter or leave it up to them to decide if they can continue because obviously most of these guys will say yes regardless if the blow damaged them. Doctors and refs need to start taking some agency to make calls about fouls and stop letting fighters who do dirty blows get an advantage in a fight because the fighter they fouled is oftentimes too tough or extremely reluctant to say no I'm hurt from that. Like in the NFL the doctors don't let you skip concussion protocol unless you pass all the tests even if they say no I feel fine, so when johnny couldn't answer what round it is that's enough to warrant a stoppage or else you would send johnny out there clearly compromised to get finished resulting from an illegal blow.

@@sent5729 it's debatable you can argue both ways but what the doctor saw was a fighter that was unable to answer his basic question of what round is it whether that's because of the illegal blow, language barrier, or overall ring confusion due to the pressure is debatable. What do you do then? Send the fighter that is showing signs of an impaired fighter due to an illegal blow to continue fighting? Do you simply take a point away for the illegal blow? Because if one point is all it costs to land a strike that severly injure and even knock out your opponent that seems like a small price to pay considering you will likely win the round or finish the fight cause of the blow impacting your opponent.
