I love this movie but this scene was one of those which screams CGI.. not only are they way too close for a rolling scissors but they move a bit weird too ..like too tight

Military doesn't make you take off your boots when you are ordered to do push-ups. You expected to do push-ups in your gear and at the same time not scuff up your boots. They get on you if you scuff them and were not able to buff it out after working hours
Notice how Hangman doesn't follow behind them in the dive. Despite the ill-will between him and Rooster, he respected that it's not a fight between his wingman and Maverick, and let them duke it out themselves without swooping in and potentially stealing what he knows could have been Roosters rightful kill
I have been very disappointed in this movie with the written I've seen so far I don't care about POV from the cockpit I can watch that from the blue angel's point of view None of these idiots are actually capable of doing what they pretend to do and that's how fake this movie is

Nonetheless no CGI fakery. Those G-forces are quite real. The real-life effects in this movie are spectacular.
