    Interesting that the Flap Indicator numbers are visible for you and anyone who sits in that area. I don't think I've seen that before!
    Still, great views of NYC on the way out, in spite of the muggy cloud cover. Stellar shots of the stratosphere! And of course, gorgeous landing in the homeland!
    Congrats on your 200th InFlight vid, man!

      Off the top of my head I can't remember which other aircraft have the flaps marked, but there are some. I think Embraer aircraft do, but I'd have to check to be sure.

    Omg I have to repeat again this video because the engine start of this aircraft A220 is particular. So, the PTU is similar to Airbus Family A320 but it sounds of son respect to his parents. Also, the takeoff sound is similar to Airbus A330 fixed with Boeing 777. And the wings hahahah is similar to Airbus but has similar slats of Boeing 737. I wanna fly in this aircraft one day! Congrats again

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 5 lety

    Awesome video man. I know you’ve flown on this bird before, but I haven’t asked you how your experience was/is on it. Is unique in respect to other planes? Or just the norm? Nice video 👍

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 5 lety +3

      It was definitely unique. A very interesting plane to fly on, and I'm looking forward to flying on one again. For example, I was actually really surprised how loud this plane was for being brand new. And not only being new, but a brand new type of aircraft. The engines made some really loud noises. The hydraulic system was loud. The brakes were loud. And another thing that surprised me was that there was actually a lot of vibrations through the cabin. In fact, my camera equipment kept falling off the tray table during the flight because it was rattling so much. Don't get me wrong, I love the mechanical sounds airplanes make, but for a brand new "state of the art" plane it kind of shocked me how loud it was. It was very comfortable. I quite enjoy 2-3 seating on aircraft, which is what this aircraft has. The windows were huge, and it's nothing like any other Airbus. But that makes sense since Airbus bought a 51% stake in the program and it's only called the A220 because of that. It really is a brand new plane that has nothing comparable to it.

    • @rjflight7625
      @rjflight7625 Před 5 lety +1

      Wow thanks for the response. I certainly agree, the aircraft is very noisy (but of course us aviation lovers don’t care hehe) especially for how new it is. Once again nice video.

    This looks like a great aircraft. And I think this will replace the A318 and A319, since this aircraft weighs less then those aircraft and therefore is more economical

  • @jasonmoors1191
    @jasonmoors1191 Před 5 lety +1

    Considering this is the newest jet in the fleet,the brakes need to be improved on--there is a distinct moaning sound when they are applied.If I was a first-time flyer and this was the chosen aircraft,I'd be concerned about the engines--at LGA, every time the power was applied,again,there is a distinct noise made--did you continue on from DFW or was there an overnight?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 5 lety

      For being a brand new plane there were a lot of loud/weird noises. As an aviation geek I loved it, but you're right. There are a lot of flyers who would wonder about their choice of aircraft after being on this flight. As for this trip, DFW was my overnight stop on this particular day. I continued on to Tulsa the next morning on an American MD-80.

    How much is the difference between the 319 and the 320 compared to the 220 that you are flying on in this flight ??

    • @jcspotter7322
      @jcspotter7322 Před 5 lety +2

      A220 is another name for the cs100, it is smaller, narrower and quieter with wider seats, bigger windows and less middle seats

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 5 lety +1

      Well J Deltaspotter covered some of this already, but although it's called the Airbus A220 it's really a Bombardier designed aircraft. It was originally called the Bombardier CS100, but when Airbus bought 51% of the program they renamed it the A220. So, it's not really like the A319 at all. It doesn't look like the A319, it has much larger windows, it has 2-3 seating instead of 3-3, etc. Thanks for watching guys!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 4 lety +2

      I've never quite understood when people ask questions like this. It's an airplane. You see the wing no matter where you sit. On top of that, this is an aviation channel. What good are my videos if you can't see the airplane. The airplane, and in particular the wing, are literally the star of every video.

  • @ecoRfan
    @ecoRfan Před 5 lety +2

    Kinda dislike how Bombardier did all the development but Airbus takes all the credit because of marketing issues or something. Meanwhile, Boeing suffers their own greedy mistakes.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 5 lety +1

      I agree it’s kind of strange calling it an Airbus A220 when is clearly a Bombardier, but when Airbus bought a 51% stake in the program they became the controlling interest, and therefor they get to decide what it’s called. Oh well! Years from now it’ll sound weird calling it a CS100. Thanks for watching man!
