- Hello, and welcome to my channel. This is a space for study enthusiasts and tea drinkers, and those who spend hours ambling around libraries and book shops. I hope that my videos can provide motivation and encourage you to be productive, but without feeding into Hustle Culture. I think that productivity is all about enjoying what we do, and finding time for things that bring us happiness or will bring us happiness in the future -- and I hope to celebrate this kind of living on my channel.

Could you do a video like: “Book recommendations for people who don’t like classics but want to like classics”?
Yes!!! Please 😊😊😊
"Classics" is not a genre tho. There are classics of any genre so just start from what you like the most
@@Lu02Indierevolution exactly! Thank you!
Little women! I wasn’t into classics but I loved that book
For me the problem is some of them have really hard words. And English is not my mother tongue so it's hard for me to go on reading. I wish I'll be able to get into them though.
Who needs therapy when you can binge watch Ruby’s aesthetically pleasing videos.
It's refreshing to see that you actually READ your books in stead of only having perfect books. Books you have to use and take with you and i think i's no problem when the book damages a little.
I’ve been waiting for this ever since your last bookshelf tour (which I’ve probably watched atleast 5 times by the way!) I don’t know about anyone else but I find it so fasinating looking at other peoples bookshelves, especially when they’re as pretty as Ruby’s! Thanks for sharing :D
@@RubyGranger8 You should be, if I had your bookshelf it would be my biggest flex! XD I can imagine filming bookshelf tours are really fun because you have an excuse to geek out about all your favourite books, sometimes when I’m looking through mine I ‘film’ a tour in my head, can anyone relate to this😂
I love how there's a little slice of your life attached to pretty much every book you own! That's why I find your bookshelf tours so pleasant to watch
Ruby, you are my idol. When ever i am feeling down, i watch you, and you inspire me to be productive. I started watching you in October 2020, a time in my life when i was questioning everything about me, especially because i was doing school online, but you completely changed my life, I felt more motivated and happy and my life took a turn for the better. You are amazing, and well, i wish i had a friend like you. You have saved my life. Thank you

I can see you teaching in school so much! You are so passionate when talking about your books!!
I have been suffering from PTSD and this made me stop reading. But your videos push me to get back to books and reading again. Keep being who you are ❤️
So excited to watch this! I’m a teacher and I want to have a beautiful bookshelf like this in my classroom to inspire my pupils to find a love of reading💖📚📖
That’s soooo cool!!🤩🤩🤩🤩
"pupils" 😃cute
You could make it into a "classroom library", I remember having that in elementary school and I definitely remember enjoying it a lot
Now I would like a tour of your family bookshelf downstairs I am curious to know what they read. 😄
I love every single one of Ruby's videos, but when she posts about books, especially bookshelf tour, that's the best thing EVER 🥺🥰🙌
The secret garden is one of my favourite books! If you are looking for a different edition, the Barnes & Noble Leather-bound Children's Classics is absolutely beautiful!
Very impressive, clean and organized. I have books all over the house in every room. Cupboards, drawers, on tables, the stairs and so on. I do have a bookshelf but is only big enough for my Tolkien books.
Words cannot describe how amazing this video is. A 40 minute video of ruby’s books YESS please. Also off topic but I was just curious, how tall are you?
Procrastinating books I know I'm going to love is literally the most relatable thing in the world, it's probably one of my worst traits tbh.
I love the fact that you are passionate about the art of writing and you are also a Granger.
who else went to get a snack, a pen and paper for this video. Ruby you are an amazing young women thank you for the videos they make me so happy. Who also thinks it would be really cool for her to do audio books I love her voice
Yesss her voice is so soothing !!
I never see anyone talk about “Love, Aubrey” so seeing it on your shelf made me so happy! It was one of my favorites when I was younger and I ended up reading the rest of Suzanne LaFleur’s books after finding them at my local library.
This is the bookself tour that I didn't know I needed in my life! 😍📚
The best 40 minutes of my self-isolation period
I was so thrilled to see you have The Little House series. I was wondering if you had ever read them. These are my favorite books of all time - partly because I am in Chicago, which was, at the time, considered the edge of civilization and a jumping off point to the west. I also have collections of Laura's newspaper writings, collections of letters and poems written by her sisters, the book Caroline, which is a retelling of Little House on the Prairie from Ma's point of view, etc etc. I have never seen the editions you have! I have the hardcovers with Garth Williams' classic illustrations, which are my very favorite. I have been to the LIW historic home in Missouri, visited her grave, and was able to stop briefly in Pepin, Wisconsin on a road trip and see at least the outside of the LIW museum there. I have seen Pa's violin in person, and Laura's wedding dress! Basically, the way you are about Harry Potter, I am about Little House. LOL
i always loved that series! it was what harry potter is to me now, before i found harry potter. it’s definitely a bit dated, but it’s so good, and i’m so glad i’m not the only longtime fan!
I've never found someone as obsessed with Laura Ingalls Wilder as I am haha
@@frozendonut722 more!!! Haaaa!!!
@@kieran163 well yeah, it’s about the 1870s! Lol
could you do a house tour? I love the little places you show and I would love to see it in its entirety. :D
This is so satisfying. I'm feeling a bit stressed at the moment so I thought I'd take the time to watch this and be calm. It really helped. :D.
I have 2 empty shelves on the bookshelf in my room and this is making me want to go out and buy all the books I can!! I love the idea of collecting them over time though :)
Bless you to whoever sneezed.
I understand your “saving it for a better time” concept I always leave my most anticipated read of the year to autumn
A 40 minute long ruby video!! Going to make a lovely warming tea and get all cosy 🍁🧡
A LONG VIDEO ABOUT BOOKS?? YES!!
What an amazing collection!!! It´s so refreshing seeing different kind of books on booktube. I now definitely got new books on my wishlist
Hi @RubyGranger8 I discovered your channel 2 years ago and this was my first video of yours. I love your passion for reading, it’s so inspiring. Since the day I watched you talking about your vintage Dickens set I’ve been wanting to have it too - it’s so beautiful! I wasn’t able to find it in good condition and yesterday I finally stumbled upon one on eBay. It’s my birthday today and I just got it as a present to myself. You’ll probably never read this but I just wanted to say thank you. I have a young daughter and you’ve inspired me to raise her as a reader, surround her with books, read to her, and I hope in some 20 years I’ll pass on this gorgeous set of Dickens to her just like your parents did to you. ❤ (I would love to watch an interview with your parents and learn more about them and what they did to raise such a special girl.)
so excited for this! got a cup of green tea and I am ready for this 💚
Cup of tea in hand and ready to take notes ☕️ So many wonderful classics - I will have to read an An Evening with Claire!
WHEN I SAY I RAN -
literally saw the notification and immediately clicked.
ps ruby you saved both my mental health and my school work and are one of my biggest idols, your so well spoken and aesthetic i love it
just bought and started Eating Animals and I’m loving how enthralling the perspective of Foer’s work is
7:44 Hi Ruby! Yes it isn’t a trilogy anymore, it’s got 4 books in the sinclair’s mysteries but then there is a follow on series called Taylor’s and Rose secret agents! it has 4 books I really recommend it 💖
when you were showing your favourite shelf I really felt the smell of old books
A 40 minute video!! What a treat! 😍
Siegfried Sassoon's war protest classics. Also All Quiet on the Western Front and it's sequel The Road Back which deals with the returned soldier's feelings of dissillution after the War.
This was lovely, also your children's books collection has inspire me to start gifting books to my nephews/cousins so they can find a love for reading 🧡
I loved that she actually showed the books.
Yesssssss😍
How did you get into reading Ruby? What was your first book which made you fall in love with reading books :)
i’m SO GLAD you have hugo cabret! it’s one of my favorite books, i got a beautiful copy of the same edition that you have from a charity shop in my city, and it’s so nice to see someone else who loves it too.
my academic planner arrived today and I absolutely LOVE it! I am so excited to start using it this school year 💕
Omg that edition of A Fortnight in September 💘
Splendid! I recently received your academic planner, and it is so beautiful! This is probably a sign that I should reorganise my own bookshelf. Lovely video as always!
I have been loving green tea recently, so enjoying a mug of it with this video
So sorry for your loss Ruby sending lots of love ❤️❤️
I can't wait for autumn/winter time,, as ur videos are so relaxing when it comes to that season❤️ for summer too of course but autumn/winter is more like dark academia xx
I do wait for the "right time" to read some books and I used to feel bad about it, but then I picked up one of the books I'd been waiting on and was like oh wow I'm glad I waited to read this, I wouldn't have "got" it as much had I read it earlier. So now I just let it happen, and come back to books when I feel like it's time for them. It's like having a nice surprise.
Here in Algeria 🇩🇿 it is 41c and ruby is wearing long sleeve shirt and drinking hot tea 🍵!!!
Really beautiful bookshelf your life I don’t know if I can watch the whole video . Hope you won’t be upset 😅 really love you ruby you are just amazing and I love how kind person you are.
I'm not kidding I've legit watched your previous bookshelf tour 3 times thankyou for making a new one
This is so cosy, thank you for this!
OMG.40 minutes video! It's gonna be my favourite video ever..Want this types of long videos more and more
Sorry to be that person but oranges are not the only fruit isn't a memoir, it's a novel just somewhat based on her experience growing up, I did my dissertation on it, she does have a memoir though called why be happy when you could be normal. Hope I didn't come across as patronising btw just thought you should know
I loved it! Thanks for sharing it. Such a lovely bookshelf with so many incredible books that are either on my TBR list or on my favourite books' list ✨ This vlog was the best way to start off the week :)
Ohh this is such a lovely and cosy video
This video is my reward after i finish my things to do, thankk you Ruby! :)
you just make me so happy, I love the slow-paced and relaxing videos to help with my stress and when I feel down or in need of some happiness and motivation I always turn to your channel!

Happiness😊😊😊 Thank You Ruby❤
your antique books are beautiful!
love your new room ruby love all the books I picked up a lot of new recommendations thxx
James Thurber are some of my favourites! Really inspired some of my illustration work. Fables for our time is brilliant and The Last Flower is one of the best things I have ever read, I recommend it to everyone.⚘
I remember recommending Polar to you! It's one of my favourite books from when I was small!
The everyman editions are beautiful without their dustjackets!
this is my new favorite bookshelf tour! i love this type of video
This was lovely to watch, loved that this was a longer video!
Ruby uploading a 40 minute video..what a wonderful way to start the week :)
Watched this video throughout my day. Therapeutic! Added some to my Bookish Wishlist, too. Thank you for sharing with us.
Wow we have read so many of the same books! Watching this just made my tbr list even longer. 😂
I love your passion. Also as a French, it's soooo interesting to see English bookshelves 🥰 (except that now I want to add too many english books to mine). Kisses from Paris !
I just read ‘The Vanishing Half’ by Brit Bennet - one of my favourite books I’ve read this year, would definitely recommend to you Ruby!
I keep meaning to read Charlotte Sometimes, as a song I really like is based on it! Since you’ve kept it on your bookshelf, I’m going to take that as a seal of approval and read it for sure.
do you mean charlotte sometimes by the cure ?? if so you have great taste
You always inspire and motivate me to read a lot more like I did when I was younger.
Thank you Ruby for this video... A real soul therapy... I enjoyed every seconde for the first time I didn't feel the 40 min video at all....!
this video was the highlight of my day
Your channel is amazing Ruby! The videos are always a delight to watch.
This is soo pleasing to me as a book worm....🌼🌼
ruby you totally dont need to know the background of a book like all abut greek mythology before reading! part of the fun of reading it was figuring it all out! I love song of achilles you should finish it!
That was magical your books are amazing and the video wasn't boring at all 💛
Such a lovely and cosy video, thank you 🥰
Emily Bronte and Jane Austin - my kind of books :) Mainly in summer! What a cool video Ruby, so sweet!
It's such a pleasure watching your videos.
I love your channel so much, it has become a part of my day🥺💖.
Loving the cinematic intro to this video!!
I’m currently reading Hamnet and I think you will love it.
Thank you, Ruby! I really enjoyed being introduced to your library!:)
I love this! I have an “aesthetic” bookshelf I think😂. My mom bought it for me from a boutique that was going out of business. The shelf is actually the Vera Bradley brand shelf that you are required to buy in order to stock their products so it’s sort of whimsical and Victorian looking. I use the very top shelf to store trinkets like photos, action figures, and specimens (bugs, shells, fossils etc). ☺️
I forgot about love aubrey. I remember taking it out from the library and loving it. Could never find it in my local bookshops
Yes! so excited already for it and I have yet seen first minute or two 😍
I loved the sound of your dad sneazing in the background towards the end lol
I'm so excited to watch this video Ruby !! 😁 😁
2 minutes in and I already see books I wanna put on my TBR 😁
THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING
Absolutely love your videos! 💕
I love this so much ❤️
Your bookshelf is like mine... Beautiful
hi! I was always watching your videos from 5 or 6 years i think (not sure), and you always motivates me! Thank you!
