About us:
Our church began in Sydney in 2001 after a group of saved Bible believing baptists came together with a common desire to have a church which truly believed and taught the King James 1611 Bible is the word of God. This is because they grew weary of being in churches which just used the KJV and claimed they believed it only to have the pastors and teachers claim later it had errors and contradictions.
The group then sought out a pastor and meeting place. In a short time God provided both! The group contacted and visited Pastor John Wheat in Queanbeyan NSW who believed the Bible and had started a Bible believing Baptist church there. After this group of believers shared their heart and vision, God called Pastor John Wheat to Sydney to help establish the church there. Pastor Wheat turned the church in Queanbeyan over to a young man he had trained in the ministry and moved to Sydney where Open Bible Baptist Church was formed. God called Pastor Wheat home to heaven after pastoring the church for 10 years.
Pastor Jason Young was saved at the age of 15 and called to preach at 17. He surrendered to go to Bible school shortly afterwards and attended and graduated from Pensacola Bible Institute. Upon graduating God dealt with his heart about going to the mission field. In 2006 he came to Australia to visit and help out on the mission field. While he was there God confirmed in his heart the call to Australia. After ministering in Australia for 8 years God called him to be our Pastor in 2014.

You sound like a young envious critic. McArthur works very hard and has for many, many decades, unlike your young ignorant self. McArthur’s criticism of the prosperity gospel has everything to do with how these pimp preachers sell God to ignorant people. It is all about those preachers convincing people in the pews to give to them to buy God’s blessings by sowing into their ministries. They tell people that is the way to prosperity. That’s not God, and that is NOT what McArthur does. There is nothing wrong with McArthur enjoying the fruits of his labor as kind as he isn’t fleecing the people. He doesn’t. Have you ever used his commentaries? They are incredible. That is decades of work, so why do you begrudge McA for earning money writing books and commentaries. Remember, God said a workman is worth his hire. McA’s church doesn’t pay him for writing. They only pay him for preaching and position. Stop being so whiny and showing your ignorance.

I agree with the simplicity of Salvation. Religion makes it difficult to be saved Jesus is the way truth and the life his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
But Jesus is not a religion, as a Christian we have free will to CHOOSE

FYI, he has circle of friends whom he disagrees with when it comes to non-essentials but he loves them as he understands that the hill to die on are the essentials. For instance, his dear friend R.C. Sproul is paedobaptist but John Mac is credobaptist. Sproul is optimistic amill. John Mac is a committed dispensational premill. Yet, they both stand on the essentials of faith (Deity of Christ, Trinity, Salvation, etc.)

I have yet to hear him (Mcarthur) speak false doctrine. .. and although Gene is brilliant, he has said things that IMO do not square with Scripture. so listen to him ok, but NEVER put a fellow human being on a pedestal. IN the 60's, we did that with Rock Stars, and look where that got us. Despite alphabet soup in front of their names, they could easily be deceivers.. Not going to call Gene that, but he is too quick to condemn God's annointed.. and that could come back to bite him, BIG time

David Pawson was one of the a work salvation preacher I listened to. He stole my joy of Salvation until I found the truth you were teaching out of God’s word. I snatched my Joy right back! Thank u Jesus! I was saved at 7yrs. I wish I could line them all up and tell them about the years of misery they put me through but I know it was my lack of Christian growth and knowledge of the word that caused me to be deceived. Dr Kim, I think you should stick to addressing the issue and refrain from hominem attacks. Careful, if someday you are discovered also hiding something(s), the harder will be your fall. We are what we are because of grace and grace is not yet done with us.
Without the shedding of blood there is no remission. Drs will tell you that every child is born with the flesh of the mother and the blood of the father.

I feel your passion and righteous fury though some restraint is necessary. It's hard enough looking up to someone like John only to find out that he's one of those wolves among sheep, abusing their position and squandering that gift. Ravi's scandal was a punch in the gut for me but i guess no one is safe and corruption is a thing especially when money is a motivator. Jesus simplistic life sums it up. Being unattached to the material leaves you more room for spiritual wellness and attunement to God's will. Getting attached to money is a sure way to lose your way.
The truth is only those who truly love from their hearts can understand God's love for humanity. Always money and praises of people blind the eyes to see God's goodness. 💘

I was really taken back by all of this. Some I disagreed with because I listen to John and read his books. I don’t know what to think about the extra properties, and his huge salary if it’s true.

MacArthur is a calvinist, and when embracing such a doctrine of devils, what he speaks of it could be regarded as lie.

Nobody is infallible … with the exception of the only teacher who ever lived and taught the word of God and who is perfect and unblemished … he is none other than Jesus Christ, himself.
Everyone else will pale in comparison and will be known to commit sins. I’ve only heard John MacArthur preach the Gospel and explain the Scripture in its context and what it means to apply to our lives today. He teaches about discernment.
I don’t hold John MacArthur on a pedestal and I know he’s a man who is broken like the rest of us, to which he admits he is guilty himself of committing sins, from the pulpit no doubt. He doesn’t go into detail about his sins because it’s not about him, it’s about preaching the word!
The only thing you have managed to succeed at and to clearly demonstrate is what it’s like to be envious of others and spreading gossip and rumours of your brethren … another child of God. Just remember as you spew anger out of your mouth and think you are so righteous for exposing someone:

I think that some points of what you have pointed out are right from his teaching about sanctification. But it is understandable thing.
But, the real and truth is that the foundation for the Sanctification is grace.

The thing that I find very interesting about my CZcams is this: I subscribe to Real Bible Believers, Kononia House (Missler), Les Feldick, Lion if Judah (prayers) and LongHollow. I know, I just checked. The rest of my subscriptions include primarily MMA videos of different fight styles, music, and outdoor activities. AND YET. I get fed my huge daily dose of 5 Point Calvinists. I also get a huge dose of the charlatans within the ersatz Christian domain. Why? Why does whatever CZcams algorithm that might exist promote these people? My CZcams feed only occasionally updates those to whom I am subscribed. But, if I turn on CZcams, John MacArthur WILL BE one of the first faces I see.

When you criticize someone it should be within context.
Here is the context: the child asked John Macarthur how can she know if she is already a christian/saved or not. She even mentioned if a person is aleady a believer when should they be baptized.
John Macarthur responds with questions about things a christian/saved must have believed and accepted. And she said yes to all that.
He then asked questions about desires present in a true christian/saved. Again she said yes to all that. That kid clearly understood salvation and is a genuine believer.
Was John Macarthur wrong when he pointed that a saved person will have the desire to honor Jesus Christ? Love Christ? Know God's Word? Sing praises to Christ?
Do you honestly believe all those desires are not necessarily present in a converted heart?
