- Most driving conditions don’t require full acceleration. ECO Mode is a new standard feature on all Euro 6 CF and XF models with PACCAR MX engine to save fuel by reducing engine torque by 10% in the first eleven gears. ECO Mode defaults to ‘ON’ but you can over-ride this function. Simply press the button on the end of this stalk in situations where maximum torque is needed, for instance on a steep climb.

You do need to use full power in UK when your weight is 44t
You would have to explain that to every German manufactured car driver that it's not a lorry driver fault that he moves close a snail but rather DAF trucks inefficient engines... Before I get to any sensible speed I have to start breaking which DAF isn't good either. It's the truck that I drive for the last 8 years and with every new model it gets only worse. Without that frustrating torque reductions in previous model I was doing the same mpg but I was leaving job less stressed. Now I have lost all the joy of going to work.

i think this feature can be turned off in a service if you require (or modifying the ECU) but the companies are requesting this feature because of the money save.
I read somewhere that when you buy a daf truck you can order the gearbox software either with power pack or eco pack, i guess power pack is where everybody wants to go but every company order the eco pack :D

In reality, it saves nothing. Only increase irritation level's of the driver and other road participants
