Anyone else think these workarounds are little challenging? 🤯 I can't wait until the "perfect solution" happens!
Everything about Monday is challenging IMO.
I do appreciate the insight into other tools though. (I’m a clickup fan but briefly look at both Monday and infinity … both not going to cut it for me. Also I was a Process Street fan before ClickUp. )
Over a year later and they just announced an update that its still not on their to-do list. When will we get the perfect solution??
@@caitiebringerofjoy7775 I just watched the video from Monday about how to work with recurring tasks and its working so i guess you need to update your video now
@@NoNameTnx Do you have a link to the video?
Thankyou! #5 saved my life.
This was a GAMECHANGER for me!!! Thank you so much! And I LOVE your personality! Keep shining and being you :)
Thank you so much!!
Great job Layla!
You explain it a lot better than the documentation.
Happy to help! ☺️
Thank you so much for this tutorial! The 5th option works great for what I need!
I'm so glad this was helpful!
Great video! Thank your effort, you explained everything very well. I was very close to quitting on Monday for recurring tasks and just use a recurring meeting in calendar or something like that. Als, I think your 5th solution is as close to perfect as it gets.
I'm so glad this was helpful!
Well done. Others give one method but you show many. Options are great. Thanks.
I'm so glad it helped!
this was really helpful! I have a bunch of tasks that repeat, and now I have a few different ways I can try to make them recur in Monday.
Glad it helped!
So very clear and well explained. Love your teaching style.
Thanks so much!
Thank you that was so helpful! I hate how they want to charge an additional fee to use their automations app when it seems like it should just be a basic function of a work management app.
Thank you Layla, Great video.
Hey! Happy to help :)
Thank you so much. Used this for my current project
I'm so glad this was helpful! Hope it goes well!
Thanks for the video! Super helpful to me.
Glad it helped!
Awesome tips :) thank you!
Glad you like them!
@LaylaPomper Awesome video, your step-by-step is solid, Thanks. How do you add 1 more layer to #5 and trigger when a due date occurs or is past to reset the task to "Working on It" and change the due date to Push to the next business date?
When does the "EVERY DAY" occur? Midnight?
My Syntex that is not working is:
Every Day, if "Date" has passed and only if "Task Type" "Is" "Daily" then set "Status" to "Not Started" and then clear "Date Completed" and then push "Date" by "1 Business Day"
Thanks for a very clear tutorial
Glad it was helpful!
Really helpful video, explained and presented really well.
Recurring tasks does seem to be one of the top reasons for having management software.
New to Monday, was hoping to find a simple solution for managing a small sub contractor business but so far googles free options are almost as good. Keep notes, tasks, calendar, sheets, gmail and so on 🤔
Yes, exactly! Glad you liked it!
Hi! Thank you for this video. This video helped me with a need by using the every time period method. I did run into a snag. I want to create an item every March and August. The every time period does not allow this and that is frustrating. Also I liked, scribed, commented, and watched until the end!
Thank you!
You bet!
This is the best video I found. It is incredible how well you explain the process. Just for recurring tasks, which software would you recommend?
Hey Carolina! Good question!
Currently, I think ClickUp has good options for recurrences. ClickUp recurrences are not perfect by any means, but they do provide a lot of flexibility.
You can set tasks to recur Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and on Custom Schedules.
Hi Layla! Thank you so much for such valuable content you make for us. Respect From Dubai (UAE)
So happy this was helpful to you. ☺️
@@LaylaPomper stay blessed forever.😇
Thank you for this content! First option seems like the developer’s intended way to do it…right?
Loving this content! Thank you.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Curious, when creating automation to create new item, it asks to set a date. But date in my example would be the upcoming Friday, not one fixed date. Is there a way to to set it to put due date as 5 days from date item is created?
Very nice video and nicely explained. Can you explain how to get the frequency column? It's not one of the choices provided and it doesn't come up when I searched for it.
Uh-oh! I would reach out to monday.com and ask them to verify that you aren't experiencing a bug of some sorts.
@@LaylaPomper So it should be there; thanks for the feedback.
Hi Layla, great video. It unlocked so much for me. That said, I still can't figure out how to create history for my recurring tasks for audit trail purposes. I know that Activity Log is there, but wanted something within my board, any thought?
If you are a member of the ProcessDriven Foundations program, reach out inside the member forum and we will be happy to help provide some additional options and solutions!
Hi there, did you get a response to this? I also need a history for an audit trail
Thanks for this! Do you have a tutorial on Cuppa?
No, sorry
How did you add the 'frequency?' column? i can't seem to find the correct column type!
hi Layla is it possible to move an item from one board to another when status changed? Thanks
You can move items between Groups with an Automation -- yes! For details, check out: support.monday.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001222900-monday-com-Automations
Speaking about daily activities, I want to change the status and update the date, but I want this only when the day changes (at 12:00 a.m.), if the day is equal to the current day, it does have to change
That will be interesting to see!
good presentation, not too fast.
and not to slow!
Thanks for the support ☺️
The value method is exactly what I was looking for but couldn't figure out how to create the custom column for frequency and got stuck.
I'm happy this is helpful! Have you still been stuck?
Next is Task automation in click up

😂 if only!
Don't leave click up
Hey Clive! Thanks for the comment!
This channel actually isn't associated with ClickUp (Maybe someday it will be -- that'd be cool!) so I'm producing content based on the topics (or tools) that folks ask for.
In other words, don't worry!
We're still going to be continuing to produce content AND services (like our Membership) tailoring to ClickUp for as long as it provides value to you and our audience.
ProcessDriven's job is to help teams strengthen processes -- regardless of what tool someone likes best. 🙂
This is SO ridiculous, I can't even
Hey Javed! Thanks for your feedback :)
Nooooo you’re the ClickUp guru! You can’t go to Monday 😭
😂 Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!
BUT I am experimenting to see if some of our frameworks can work across platforms because strong processes aren't/shouldn't be software-dependent. :)
Effort does not worth it
Hey! Do you mind explaining what you mean?
@@LaylaPomper These apps should make your life easier, not harder. I'd rather stay with my favorite TickTick in which I can set custom repeating cycles in couple clicks.
I agree. I am so surprised that this core productivity feature requires so many steps in a productivity/project management tool.
@@tosha420 thanks I was seeking something like this!
@@tosha420Just looked into this... it's seems so much easier and intuitive even compared with todoist! Not sure if I'm going to invest in paying for a plan but I hope this is the app I've been looking for. It seems great for personal use but not really for teams.
My team is sticking to paper because these apps are such a pain. Tried the first workaround, didn't work. Already invested too much time into this. Tired of counter-productive productivity apps. There shouldn't even be words like 'database' use for average people.
Thanks for commenting. Paper and pen work great for some teams!
