- Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still a phenomenal game. Even today, thousands still play it and it's such a shame that development was cancelled. It's easy to think of what could have come from this awesome game. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Completely agree. They killed it just when it found itself and was doing well. Good updates, listening to the community, solid player numbers. And they killed it for 2042... I know 2042 is doing better now, but it took a year. I was very annoyed they killed bf5 and bf2, both of which were just starting to get really good to give us 2042

Battlefront 2 became good after 2 YEARS. If you dont make that excuse for 2042, dont do it for battlefront 2 either.

The sound, the visuals, the immersion. There is no game that has come out recently that can match how this game makes you feel. It truly felt like you were inside the Star Wars universe. Worst decision they ever made was to discontinue development

With over 1200 hours put into this game it's still one of the best star wars multiplayer games I have ever played. If they would've continued support this game would easily be a huge trending success. Nice to see some love for this game recently

It most definitely did not age well. Terrible HvV balance, worse hit detection than CoD, op clone commando, explosive spam, countless unfixed bugs left by Dice. Game lost all of its potential after the Scariff update
@@AnthonyDoesCZcams no it isnt maybe where you are on the planet but for me in the UK I perhaps encounter hackers once every 30 games and almost all the modes still have plenty of players only modes I struggle to get is starfighter assault.

Battlefront 2 is honestly great and i have so many memories from when it first released, but holy crap if the support was maintained it could have been amazing for so much longer

@@VoltronKnight Clone wars heroes like Obi-Wan, Anakin, General Greivous, County Dooku, and they even added Clone Commandos as an Enforcer for the Galactic Republic. Commando droids for the Separatists and Droidekas too!

I agree the potential it had and the content we could’ve gotten would’ve been amazing, such as Ventress, Ashoka and the 332nd battalion aswell as Mustafar.

Oh there would've been a lot. We barely got new Blasters.
Regarding heroes they had to consider trilogy balance though, due to conquest splitting them. So for new PT heroes we would probably also have been given sequel characters (I mean zorii and that stormtrooper woman could've been sick from a gameplay standpoint).
Check out the mods if you play on PC. This game has some of the best mods out there, including adding just about every hero you can imagine.
When you say they killed the game you mean the support to create more content for the game?
If you are a PC player you can play on the modded multiplayer servers, you can play Ventress & Ashoka on it. The mods are so clean you could almost think it's official content !
Currently have like 1300 hours played. Couldn't agree more! Love this game sooooooo much seriously one of the best games of the decade for me. I know it had a rough start, but if you can look past that this game is legit one of the most amazing games. Still very active too!
On PC not so much, you might find a full server if you can wait around for a half hour or so(and that was around 1~2 years ago the last time I played), and odds are the top of the leader board will be plagued by hackers. Even small game modes are the worst when this happens too

I think one of the issues was the huge backlash at launch over the MTX and the cards/loadouts system. A lot of people never tried it again after that, even thought they completely overhauled the game and progression system.
the game had won back a lot of players with the content updates, that was certainly not the reason for it. at first you could have said that, but the game had many thousands of players during the support period.
I honestly never understood what the backlash came from at the start, you could get everything but you just had to grind for it. As a 13 y/o at the time it was just really cool to have a new battlefront with clone war era content + more

This is the right answer! I couldn't get any friends to pick it up after the made the changes. Gamers move on quickly. There's always something else to give us the hit.
This is one of the few games that blew me away graphics wise when it came out in 2017 and still does today. I still hop on heroes vs villains mode every now and then it's so much fun.
I've just started playing, but only get destroyed. I guess the cards are kinda important? Or is there some Meta that I still need to find out about, like spamming block or sth.?
@@oppressorb7196 having upgraded cards definitely help a lot, I suggest playing the co-op missions mode against bots as it lets you upgrade your cards faster and also get some practice learning the abilities for your favourite heroes/villans. The cards alone won't carry you to victory though, you gotta practice how to manage your stamina bar. Knowing when to attack/retreat/block and parry is key to winning fights which is why I suggest doing co-op missions against AI before fighting real players.

@@vFuSiion That would be awesome. It would be the Battlefront equivalent of Battlefield's planes/helicopters. Just from further away, providing air support from orbit. And that feeling of a much larger, open map due to the inclusion of space would be the best place to introduce Battlefront 128 player game modes.
I love the level of enjoyment that Jack gets when playing this game, it makes me happy seeing someone having so much fun

Jack, can I just say I really enjoy hearing you talk about Star Wars. I'm a massive Star Wars enthusiast, and it brings me joy to know you like it and watch all the content, too. I also loved The Solitary Clone. It's really cool to see small team special operations style tactics from clones post-rise of the Empire. It's really well done, in my opinion
There is still a pretty strong community on the game, and the modding scene is huge. Lightsaber dueling on this game is so surprisingly intricate that there are quite a few sizable youtube channels dedicated to just duels.
I stumbled upon it by accident, and fell in love.
Movie Battles 2’s duels 10x better than Battlefront’s goofy lightsaber system.
Not only is it a great FPS. The air combat is amazing!

The game is still very much alive. Couple thousand on steam daily but way more people play origin and way more play on epic games (because it was free on epic for a week.) And many more on console. So if anyone's looking to pick it up, you wont have to worry about not being able to find matches in less than 60 seconds for any of the good modes.
Absolute loved it on console, was some of the most fun I'd had gaming in years. And the maps are absolutely stunning.
I have 500 hours on this game. This video made me get back into it. Thank you for getting me back into probably my favorite game ever

This game was a huge part of my early childhood, I know every map by heart, every weapon by memory, and every ability like the back of my hand. An amazing game Ive personally spent many hours on, it's saddening I find out today that there could have been more to it.

Completely agree. It had a rough af launch but turned into pretty much Star Wars perfection.
great game tbh, had some issues though. i hated how people would just camp menu for the jedi to be up. leaderboards depended on using specialist / jedis. i kinda wish there was just a mode with basic troopers.
Leaderbords definetily wasnt all dominated by specialists and jedi, if you were good enough any class except the officer could basically really easily get to and stay on the top.
I would have played this game a lot if there was a dedicated troopers-only mode. I just don't like playing against players who have a ton more health than me. Same reason I didn't like the sentry kits in BF1

Yeah Assault and Heavy class are amazing. The special Troopers are the tits as well. Death Trooper is a savage. Roll, shoot, and roll!

@@AaronDoster The main reason I hear people were deterred was the loot box fiasco at the beginning, but never realized that, that was handled fairly early in it's lifetime. It's still very fun to hop back in to. I just hate how starfighter assault never got any content love.

The aim assist was so strong on console with the snipers, it was easy to quick scope because all you’d need to do was zoom. Shoot. Zoom out and repeat. Easy kills

I still play it every day, we can now only imagine what beast of a game it would have been if it only kept receiving updates, even for an year more! For anyone interested, I post daily videos of BF2, especially the heavily underrated Starfighter assault.

Kind of weird cause I grew up playing the original battlefields as well, but I preferred playing this game in first person for that very reason. It's just so much more immersive.

I put so many hours into this. One of the biggest 180's in video game history, the game became AMAZING with updates. I put hundreds of hours into it.
What a lot of people don't understand is that the game itself was always fun and well-made, the reason the community hated it at launch was due to the lootbox mechanic which was removed after the massive backlash. To give an outline, the MTX/lootbox system allowed you to bypass the unrealistically long grind for heros and upgrades, by purchasing the lootboxes that contained the characters and cards (which alone was also controversial as it was entirely random and you could very well end up spending hundreds or even thousands and ending up with countless duplicates which could be cashed in for small amounts of in-game currency). Player time investment was deeply undervalued and it put people off. The community never really recovered after that as most had made up their minds and backed out, which is the most unfortunate part. Had the game not launched with lootboxes in the first place, it likely would have maintained a much bigger playerbase, even now, and would have been supported for much longer.
I had so many memories on this game. I remember pre ordering it and playing every day

I only got this at the weekend for XSX. It’s one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played in a long time. So much more so than MW2 or BF2042.

BFV was utterly outstanding. I still play it a lot. It had something for everyone map wise and the SERVER filter to choose. Absolute master piece

The only thing that bothered me about this game was the amount of heroes/villains in a killing spree every match.
I miss this game so much. Stayed playing the coop mode for a while because it was really hard to find multiplayer matches.
First time watching your channel was on battlefront1 walker assault in the snow. That was awesome, I wish I was able to play that game when it was new.

i have never watched this channel, but somehow battlefront 2 randomly popped up in my feed so i clicked on. if i could choose one game to be revived, it would be this one. there's still so much more to be added and so much more to be enjoyed. i still play it from time to time, but i can really only get games on hvv (i play pc). i dont mind that too much as it is my favorite game mode, but it's almost always the same people across different matches.
