    I made this same thing using a 55 gallon metal drum. I used two pressure treated 2x4 nailed between 2 trees an sat the from on top and strapped it down. I also drilled a hole in the pvc pipe coming down and put a bolt thru it to make that "T" piece removable. Works awesome an deer love it!

      Do you have trouble with bear? Bear destroy every gravity feeder I put out. Just eating from it's not good enough for bear they want to tear it apart.

    I would use a "Y" attached to the toilet flange ...instead of a "T"... then attach twin down tubes each with a 45 attached at the low-end, and drill three weep holes to drain all rain from the underside of the bend in each 45. .... it will cause the protein/corn to easily flow down to the low end, but each 45 will stop that flow so all your protein/corn will NOT spill out on the ground.

    Should have both pieces of pipe up side down so the point don't stop them from getting the corn hurting them

    I've tried gravity feeders all they do is stand at feeder an make it empty out so it's useless in one night your feeder be empty.

      wrong. I got a simple 8 inch pipe, 5 foot long. I fill it up and also sling corn all over my plot. The pipe will last a week or so. It holds a good bit of corn. This barrel here will last around a month. Yet I don't like the way that T he is using on bottom of barrel. I think the corn will all go one way, to the left. Thats a one way flow T

    What stops the corn from just flowin out?

    • @bryandavis538
      @bryandavis538  Před 9 lety

      There is enough pipe coming out of the tee,so that the feed doesn't all come out.

    • @RobertMELEE
      @RobertMELEE Před 9 lety

      I guess it's cause I built mine with 6", it could be 4' long on each side and it wouldn't stop flowing out. Back to the drawing board

      +robert mccullough I posted a question as well. My concern was more about wanting to make sure that I was going to get enough feed with no drop in the pipe. Your concern was " the corn just flowin out". To solve that problem if it happens is simple......at the end, just put a 40 degree elbow facing up and it'll stop the flow. Deer can just eat out of the elbow. On the elbow, drill some small holes in the curve underneath and that will let any rain drain out that may get into the elbow. Thanks

      I kind of did the same thing. I cut 90's in half.

      @stanpidgurskyjr297 Před 4 lety +1

      To me the end pipe would be hard for them to eat from... you'd think it would other way ...with holes drilled for drainage
