Keith honey. I was on Twitter let me make it perfectly clear. I've been a fan from your first album. You are the hottest singer with an amazing voice. My first love is Mr. Barry White. Your right next to him. I can't listen to a love song , without thinking Keith would do it better. I'm the saddest white 58 in RI. Due to virus the I wish I could not go see you in Lincoln Rhode island. I was working three jobs and disappointed that I cannot go see you the first time you came to to RI. You're just amazing. R. Kelly is one of the Kings... in their era they had so many talented people. The 80s and 90s were filled with Kings there isn’t just one.

The *King of R&B* is my grandfather, Mr. Stevie Wonder, period. Just across the board. Excellent vocals, inspiring lyrics, gorgeous instrumentation, etcetera. He's an international superstar. The longevity is obviously there as well. As far as Jacquees is concerned, he's young. However, I do believe he uses the 'young' card to his advantage. He knows right from wrong. These 'artists' have to create some type of controversy because that's what folks are interested in. Most artists _cain't_ just release new music because nobody will care. Reel them in w/ controversy and then the music. It's not necessarily right or wrong. It's the way of the world. When I was little and I saw that Mary J. Blige had a new album out, I bought it, period. It was never _Mary J. Blige done went upside Ms. Anita Baker's head - GO BUY THE ALBUM_ or _Mary J. Blige done slept w/ 10 men and she has jungle fever - GO BUY THE ALBUM!_ We're in a social media/microwave generation. That means the music of today isn't made to last forever (no pun intended). I believe it's for the moment. Only time will tell, but things are looking pretty grim. I always knew that music, overall would change, but I would've never thought the _singing_ would change so drastically and ultimately dumb down. I know, I know...everybody _cain't_ sang like Mr. Johnny Gill or Mr. Stokley Williams. I get it, but DAMN! Now, Mr. Keith Sweat, let's talk about him for a second. I believe he's an acquired taste. I don't know very many people who just listen to him day in and day out. 13 albums deep and folks only know 3 of them. _Make It Last Forever, I'll Give All My Love to You_ and the self-titled album. I'm speaking *OVERALL* real world. Not the internet. The tone of his voice gets annoying which is why I can only handle him in doses. My favorite ended up being _I'll Give All My Love to You._ I have warm memories behind that gem. *_I will never do anything to hurt you. I'll give all my love to you. And if you need me, baby, I'll come runnin'. Only to you._* That chorus. That's all he had to say and I was taken. That part always makes my eyes well up. Those lyrics still mean the world to me. Folks my age (34) usually go for _Twisted_ and _Nobody._ Note that there are different types of fans. Fans such as myself are rare. I know b-sides, remixes, unreleased tracks, demos, etcetera. Hell, I done bought the same album on cassette and CD along w/ the singles on cassette and CD. That's me. I'm a rare fan. Then, you have fans who done bought albums or singles and that's all. Some fans only know what's been on the radio. See, there are different types of fans. Now, you, Displeasure P... I have no idea. You can sing, but it's obviously nothing that I haven't heard before. The lil' music you do have out is pretty hit or miss. Take it or leave it (more so leave it). R&B has transformed into some auto-tune bullsh¡t. It's never been this bad. When I was little, my grandparents *never* said Jodeci couldn't sang. Granted, it wasn't they type of music, but that just goes to show how bad it's gotten. My grandmother loved Ms. Lauryn Hill. H.E.R., Daniel Caesar and Ella Mai are the standard right now. Not my cup of tea at all. Generic, boring vocals.
I love that you said keith is an acquired taste. I was only aware of the make it last forever album and my favorite two singles "nobody" and "twisted". other than that, no big deal. Joe (thomas) has the most R&B songs of any artist that I love so he's my #1. Also, the music my parents had me listening to growing up...Isley bros., Stevie wonder, O'Jays, smokey Robinson---all classics!!!
With all due respect, in this conversation, Pleasure P meant well but he was doing so much interjecting and talking that he didn't even decipher that the O.G. made his call to drop it and move on from that discussion; silence speaks volumes. That's shows respect for the O.G. more than speaking out of place or saying too much.
Mr. Sweat is too wise to waste his energy on a "Merry go round" (pun intended) continuously speaking on Jacques or who the "King of R & B" is believed to be; he's too busy making king moves.
Much love to Mr. Sweat...he's already sealed with the legends so he is NOT sweating a topic like this. LOL!
