This is a list of all my college acceptances/decisions. I applied to 30+ colleges and universities. I talk about all the colleges I applied to ( I applied through the common black college app) and a little information about them including scholarships. All the schools mentioned are HBCUs and if you’re interested in learning more about the college application process I have a video on that as well.

You've enlightened me on just how much applying to college has changed. Can you imagine applying to all those colleges using a manual typewriter and snail mail? The wait time as documents went back and forth was excruciating. Best wishes.

not me watching your video 2 years after the fact, but i've been looking into hbcu's and saw both parts of your video and i just wanted to say thank you for clearing the air because i was a bit iffy about commonblackcollegeapp, but I was wondering when you did the applications did they just give you scholarships or did you apply for them on the side?
You were correct with your previous notion that Lincoln University of Pa. is the first HBCU. Cheney was a secondary school (basically a high school) until 1914 when they switch to being a POST-secondary institution.
How did you find out about so many HBCU’s?
I live in the south and there are a lot of hbcu’s down here plus many of my family members graduated from hbcus
Central State & Wilberforce are definitely around the corner from each other, both HBCUs. Thee incredible Nancy Wilson is one of its notable Alums from CSU.

Yeah Cheney is the first hbcu & yes Lincoln was the first degree credited college , Lincoln gave our degrees before Cheney but Cheney was the first founded

wilberforce university is also an hbcu in ohio

FYI Central State University is NOT the only historically black university in Ohio. You have Wilberforce University which is directly across the street from Central State and also older than Central State. In fact Central State was born from Wilberforce. And I know this because I attended Wilberforce University. Thank you and have a wonderful day! LOL!

Hey I'm a rising senior and I am really interested in using this application process method. I was wondering after following up with all of these schools did you have to continue the application process by writing personal statements and supplements or anything, thanks in advance🙂
Sorry for the late reply, but I’m my experience I didn’t have to do any of that. I remember one college asked me for a personal statement but I got my acceptance before I turned it in so I guess not 🤷🏾♀️

Most of these scholarships were awarded to me upon admission to the university. But you can find some good outside scholarships on fastweb.com
hey, I have a 3.2uw/4.3w, I took mostly all honors classes, I’m in 2 clubs, have 2 leadership positions, had a summer job, have a lot of community service(300+ hours), and did an internship, do you think I have a chance for Howard?
Howard doesn’t require a specific gpa, standardized test score, or specific course work for admissions. On their admissions page they place emphasis on a well rounded applicant, so you never really know until you try
Did you apply to FAMU?
I did actually! But after a few phone calls to the admissions office I learned they never received some of my documents (even though I sent them twice) so just let it go lol
