How to Make 5 Amazing Clean Tones with the Yamaha THRII

- In this video, I show you how to make 5 amazing clean guitar tones with your Yamaha THR. If you’re not familiar with how to do deep editing on your THR using the Yamaha THR Control and Remote apps, this video breaks the process down completely. Hopefully by the end of this video, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to fully utilize and unlock all the features of one of the greatest practice amplifiers ever created. I mic’d up the THR with a Shure SM57 to give you the sound coming directly out of the speaker. Keep in mind, the THR is designed to be heard in the room so your results may vary based on the type of room you’re playing in. Have fun and keep jamming! Based on the title of video I expected some tips on specific settings that you have figured out and would share with you audience. However, what you are doing is simply going through the settings and trying out. Which is ok to show as a demo. But it is not what comes across in the title. At least for me.
Thanks for the feedback, my goal was to show viewers how I would make a great clean tone, that being said, this video is a little old and I think I'll have to revisit this series and do a follow up video.
Great video I love my THR ii. I bought myself a k line Springfield and I have an awesome blues tone on the boutique channel on the lead channel with the compressor and a little tremolo. Sounds amazing!

Hey, how does an electric guitar sound on your semi acoustic amp. Does it sound acoustic? Do you have clean electric sound like sounds? Tnx for checking! I mainly play a clean sound but I'd like a combination of electric and acoustic playing my strat with custumshop pick ups.
What happens when you save a preset with a "boutique" or "modern" type and then move the amp knob? does it goes back to classic or you're stuck in that mode forever until you change preset or connect the app?
Hello, I wanted to ask, how did you record the mic from the one usb interface with guitar from its own, but before writing, I've read, that you were using the mic. Are there any other ways to combine two different inputs in DAW, or I should to switch them after every recording to use my studio monitors output and mix it? Thanks for your presets)

Cmaj9 and Fmaj9, 3243 on the middle 4 strings will get you started.

Do you notice a crackling noise with the THR10II when using clean tones? Ive tried 2 different THR10II amps and they both did it. It's most noticeable when notes sustain and strumming multiple strings.

Do you still love this amp? I am thinking about getting one ( however ) I do think it's Overpriced. I love Fender-like Pristine "Cleans" like: Nile Rodgers or Prince. oNe LoVe from NYC
Yep, I'm still using the THR, and yes I agree they are pretty expensive amps. I look at it as a "one and done" purchase though.

You're paying for very Portable , and highly Versatile. If you're looking for both , you'll be very pleased.
Looking for primarily one or the other , you'll think about the $ , but still probably like it .
Mine is still having some distortion on the clean setting . What could it be ? I’ve also experienced this on my Marshall amp with this same guitar
It may be your pickups that are too hot, I have the same with my Ibanez while my Fender remains clean.

Im using Ableton live and Focusrite gen2 audio interface. I'm wondering that if i use Yamaha THRII instead of the Focusrite gen 2. How to deal with the latency while recording or arranging on Ableton Live.

Hi Drew, When I use my laptop to edit, the Remote App doesn't give all the cabinets. I'm only able to access 4 of them. It's weird! I'm not having this issue with the mobile app. Have you had this issue?
