Behind Bars - Lepoglava, Croatia: • Behind Bars: Lepoglava...
Rahova Prison on the outskirts of the two Million Mega-City Bucharest is the second biggest prison in Romania. Surrounded by two walls murderers, human traffickers, and worse are serving their sentences. Escaping from here is nearly impossible. Each cell wing is monitored separately. Cameras record all movements in its corridors. Prisoners are in their cells for twenty hours a day. They can only leave under the strictest security measures. Even a walk in the prison yard takes place in cages.
Prison Officer Alina is the chief of Unit Four. Anyone who ends up in this block has either committed a particularly horrific crime or attacked a guard or inmate. Alina is the only woman in this block. She is responsible for around two hundred, exclusively male prisoners. - a job that requires professionalism and a thick skin. In total Rahova Prison is housing 1400 inmates. Every week 60 to 70 new criminals arrive. Every newcomer must first go through an admission process - like 53-year-old Dragosch, who was convicted of serious fraud. Dragosch has already served three and a half years. Two months ago, he was released on probation. Then there was a change in the law. And now he has to serve out the rest of his sentence - a stressful situation for the former manager.
Inmate Atas, who was born in Turkey, has been in Rahova for eight years. He was sentenced to twenty-two years for murder. Atas shares a forty-square-meter cell with six other men. The furnishings are worn and spartan. There is just one toilet for seven prisoners and only one shower which also serves as a laundry room. While most prisoners have to sit in their cell for twenty hours a day, Atas is lucky enough to have landed one of the coveted jobs available to prisoners. At eight o’clock, a guard picks up Atas and his cellmates for work. He first searches everyone thoroughly, because now they’re meeting prisoners from other cells, a potentially dangerous situation. Atas works at the prison’s art workshop. Only those who have behaved well in prison are allowed to work here. The inmates do not receive any money. Instead, they receive bonus points that they can use for visits or special purchases. Atas used to be a successful businessman and earned millions. A stark contrast to his work in the workshop. And he is well aware that one small mistake, one misstep, and all his privileges will be lost.

Prison cell with a kitchen, electricity and bathroom is pretty luxurious compared to many of the other prisons we've seen 😂😂😂
True
vory v zakone aint playing around they control the country
Believe Andrew tate when he says it's dope in romania
They're living a better life than i do and I'm not in prison
That’s what I was thinking… that’s not bad at all. A kitchen, private bathroom, tv… dang!
I am addict of watching prison documentaries
Just go to prison
I am too
Me too, don't know why
God please take away my life peacefully instead of going back again in prison.
I hate prison and in the outside world I hate people's behavior men are not allowed to fight freely without being arrested.
This life is total nonsense, nonsense and nonsense is living.
No prison is good they are just showing lies here on media all prison is hell fire.
Have you watched HBO's Oz? Highly recommended TV drama.
Madagascar's prison makes every other prison look like a 5 Star Hotel👀
And this one's a 7 Star😂😂😂
Most countries prisons are a cake walk compared to U.S prisons.
Dang, having 3 cell doors is crazy. Not bad Romania not bad.
That was a really fancy prison... they should do one of these documentaries on prisons in MISSISSIPPI. Go to the zones called Castle Grey Skull and The Thunder Dome where convicts regularly kill inmates and gang fights happen almost every day. My experience of prison in Mississippi fighting to be independent and serve my time alone without joining a gang really taught me the true value of freedom and independence. Those two things are irreplaceable.
I've heard that prisons in the south are pretty brutal.
This prison actually looks quite good compared to most I have seen. It’s very organised, rarely any crime, etc. cells with kitchen and own shopping once a week is heaven.
When are you going back inn ?

😅😅😅😅 very good! Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Another one 😅
I watched other documentaries of prisons in south America, there is no ground to compare. Here it looks a 5 star hotel.
having a tv in your cell room is paradise.
It is amazing how close this prison is to the city. Most are out in the middle of nowhere.
You need to visit many countries because our prisons are in our cities
Jason,, thank you for your service, mate... The Documentary was fabulous, Top Shelf, my friend... So glad I found you're channel,, amazing content & the photography is truly amazing, I never saw a quiver & you gentlemen were in some pretty hairy situations... Once again, great job, I look forward to the next one... Sray safe out there mate, keep her outta the hedges...🪢
Every time I Get Despressed I Watch One Of These Videos.. & Somehow I Find My Self Not Feeling So Bad Anyone.
So you're always that way I take it 😂
When ever you feel down or depressed or unhappy with anything just look at those who have it worse than you with any and every aspect in your life and it will work out for you just the way you want it, I promise that method works 💯
The tate brothers!
They didnt go here😂😂😂
Thanks for these prison documentaries.
My favourite series ❤
Heck, I thought the Prisons in the United States were beach homes, let me add something first, a good majority of Federal Prisons are like that. That is where the adage “Club Fed” comes from.
Also State Penitentiaries vary from State to State and so does some of their basic mission statements and so forth. The minimum security level penitentiaries are usually not so bad. But when you’re talking about maximum security prisons…you’re basically in hell. Then the Supermax Prisons like ADX Florence….you are in your cell I believe 23 hours a day.
I know some countries just throw their criminals in a walled in and fenced in building with towers for guards to shoot and they basically let the prisoners run the place. That’s horrible. But this prison in this documentary seems like the cells are like a one room suite you could rent here in the states. Looks like they treat the inmates much more like human beings than just garbage and the guard seems like he genuinely cares about rehabilitation and the welfare of the prisoners. Which is what penitentiaries are supposed to be about, rehabilitation through paying your debt to society by being confined away from them and then try to come out a better person.
I am a romanian and I can confirm that our prisons are pretty boring BUT SAFE, everybody choose to serve their sentence and get out, those who want to be "gangsters" here are punished quickly by inmates. So if you respect us, you'll 100% get respected, if don't, as always, expect the worse. That's why my country is one of the safest in the world, 0% random violence.
0% ça n'existe pas

Mathematically:
Absolutely: 0% is a fundamental concept. It represents "nothing out of a total." It's essential for calculations involving percentages and comparisons.
Practically:
Essential: 0% is a valuable tool. It helps us communicate ideas like "no chance of success" or "battery completely drained."
And yet I see a ad on my computer marry a Romanian woman bring to United states LMAO

that's total bs. i feel bad for the dude
That is Romania😂 Not a good sistem
Love your videos
This is definitely not a tough prison. It shows the generosity and humane side of Romanian people. Great job, Romania! ❤❤❤
You are perfectly right
Amazing content
After long time…More behind bars frequently pls
They are throwing away huge chunks of fresh potatoes. Other prisons don't even get that kind of meal. This prison has higher standards than most prisons we see on this channel.
I watch prison documentaries cause it makes me feel the God keeping me way better than lots of people out there.
Amazing documentary🎉
How do you know, you didn't seen all :P
This prison is like a mansion compared to ones found here in America.
of all prison documentaries this is the only one that officers and inmates are mostly good looking.
Lol I thought the same thing!
I believe this is because they are all being well taken care of. It seems like the prison is strict, but rather fair. This is an amazingly run prison, with the only problems being inter prisoner violence, which is a problem in every prison.
Also all police officers recieved new equipment and clothes
yeah Romanians are good looking people i know. but you never know it may also be the case they switched the guards just for the filming.
@@wonderfulworld2475 we are usually good looking people overall :P
Yo I'm from Ukraine and let me tell you some, this prison cell looks better then some of apartments I've been too

I've never been to prison but what I have heard about prisons in the US, they seem way worse. Regardless of the massive security, these prisoners seem to be treated like people. Respect is reciprocated. In the US, prisons aim to 'rehabilitate' by dehumanizing people and some of the guards should be in prison, themselves. The US prison system is a business and most are corrupt.
That’s gotta be the hottest prison guard I’ve ever seen
You should check out the Singapore prison. Now that one is harsh.
I would much rather be in this prison , than the US prison I did time in . This is literally an apartment. You have cigarettes , a kitchen , a laundry room, free world clothes . Looks
Pretty good for prison
Man. If county jail was like that in the US, it be okay.
This looks so much better than the prison in Haiti or Brazil
Free documentary.. please bring back most dangerous way to school series 😢
Fun fact : Cameraman never dies at any cost😂

Imagine seeing Andrew Tate in one of the cells
This prison is so much better than the South Cotobato Prison in Philippines.
At least they all have their own bed in their cell.
this should be called the most luxurious prison...a cell with a kitchen, shower, electricity and toilet damn that's luxurious for prison life.
Just because it's comfortable compared to other prisons it doesn't mean it's not dangerous.
@@Boston82bl who said anything about "danger" 👀!!!
It's absolute normality throughout the EU, the prison is focused on reintegration unlike 3rd world countries (including the US) where they just lock people up and throw away the key
We need this here in America. But then again, we need to start hold people accountable for their crimes.
This is like a luxury hotel compared to most American prisons lol
New one
I think a prison with even a supermarket that a luxurious one.😁😂
Even if you have anything you want, honestly being away from the world and your loved ones, after a while it hurts, especially if they need your help and you can’t. Or they get hurt or they pass away. It sucks. It’s better to do good and be home
This is almost a hotel if compare with some countries that over 50 inmates share the same small room where was suppose to have around 10 , most of them sleeping on the concrete .
Romania has some of the prettiest women I've seen
This prison seems nicer than my high school boarding dorm here in Ghana .Im not even kidding

The prison looks like 2 star hotel.
A perfect location in case of a zombie apocalypse

Bro can you make documentry on one of the Indian prison
This prison is nicer than any American prison I've seen
This is a 5-star hotel compared with communist-era jails when the political opponents were exterminated just because they had different doctrines. At that time inmates were "re-educated", and de-personalized and if this didn't work, or the "treatment" was unbearable then they passed away! There are on YT documentaries about communist jails, that are more shocking than the worst you've seen here!
In 2015 Abdullah Atas was driving after he left a bar drunk as a skunk and he intentionally hit a police officer with his car.The officer died a few days later.
Life difficult in Romania 😢😢😢
Prison is prison no matter where you are. Every prison has their "most dangerous" inmate.
It’s soooo hard for those prisoners! Hopefully they didn’t miss their episode Friends and banana pudding that day 🙄
You all have to stop compare a Christian Ortodox country with any other one like America or India or whatever. We have morality and respect. You all better learn from us how to be more human. In Romania nobody kills for fun like in other Godless countries. Peace and love from Bucharest!
I’m ngl…that cell is better than any cell I ever had in the US.
Andrew and Tristan Tate had it made in jail clearly! If this is what they complained about they would really be dying here in the US 😂. This place is a hotel compared to what we get here in America
doesn`t seem like anyone told you that the Tates weren't in jail, but in detention.
The detention center where they were held is luxurious compared to Rahova. It has been recently renovated, with new beds and plasma TVs in every cell. And, they were allowed to order food from outside. Yet they were whining so much that they earned the nickname "The Princesses".
@@PetriTemisevaThe detention cell (arest) has seen no infrastructure improvements since Nicolae Ceausescu!) Only the prisons update their condition somehow, but the detention (arest) is much worser, that’s why most of the prisoners in Romania can’t wait to exist arest and go to jail as fast is possible.)
@@adrianstere We can agree that prison conditions, especially due to overcrowding, in Romania are not up to general (Western) European standards. But, the situation is improving, by 2025 there should be accomodation for 8,000 inmates in newly constructed or renovated facilities. This has been enabled with loan from European Development bank, and grants from Norway to e.g. construct Craiova and Vaslui prisons.
My point was to state that the conditions in Bucharest detention center are not as horrific as Andrew lets his audience to believe. There has been no major renovation, but having a new bed and a plasma TV in (private) cell could be considered luxury in many parts of the world.
The prison guard is so dam fine. ❤

Prisoners in Romania living better than me on the outside
$25 is the real price for food nowadays even in Europe so they have a kitchen TV they have basically more space within the cell alone then what a lot of people do living in very small apartments across America in Europe now actually says it all in terms of why maybe crime is up
No prison uniforms in this prison? They’re wearing regular clothes like any ordinary citizens in free world!

Wow that makes American prison seem like college!! If America prison was like that it will be over populated. They would love to go to prison
Notice one main thing in this prison that's different to the US?
It's nearly impossible to escape? So you're saying there's a chance? 😏
Tate brothers have not been in any prison. They been only in detention (arest) in Romania. Basically, the worst place in Romania to be. Prisons have much better conditions but they can only send you there if you have a final sentence. Otherwise, you need to spend some months on the police station itself (arest) and this one’s they haven’t been upgraded at all since communism. The conditions are indeed compared like in some South American countries. And you can really get sick if you spend to much time in there. Most of the criminals in Romania they just stay there only 1-2 months then after are sent to prison. But for a person to spend 6 months there it’s indeed horrible. Only if you want to kill someone with a disease you will try that. That’s why there are no documentaries about the “arest” places in Romania as they can’t allow anyone to see the dare conditions in there. Not dangerous as for conflicts but more because of the diseases are there from the lack of conditions.
1 to 7 my god 1 to 7 is a bloody luxury compared to a lot of other complete prisons where it's about 200 people sharing bucket or a hole in the ground tea coffee sugar on shelves you kidding me
