      Exactly. They equate the success of the Premier League to English football. If you pick an EPL first XI, 7 or 8 would be non-English players year in and year out.

      I don't think that's true. England has very good players but they don't have a real manager. The way the team plays is very lackluster. They seem to have no conviction and the forwards are playing for themselves. Everyone wants to be a hero in that English team.

      @@harryn1602Kane and Bellingham are the only “world class” players. For every other English players, there are players just as good or even better than them in their position in other top nations. Not saying they’re awful, but most of the English squad is either average or not as good as their made out to be. A lot of the starting 11 for England wouldn’t make it in the teams of other top nations.

      @@tomodul2619 You may be right about Southgate. England has great players, and he doesn't seem to be able to get the best out of them. At the same time, though, should we all assume they've only had bad managers since 1966? I think it's one of those cases where you desperately need to win something important, then you can start really piling up some titles. The heavy burden of constant failure, in a nutshell.

His IQ is arguably the highest in world football currently, he's a leader, dictates and orchestrates the press from attack and creates space for players around him. There's not much more to say or prove of Müllers capabilities, he's world class even still at this age. Gundo hasn't been that effective in the CAM number 10 role behind Havertz for Germany, he gets caught out to quick because of the pace of the attack, Müller is more efficient, he picks out passes and is always one step ahead of the attacking flow. Nagelsmann needs to try him out there instead of Gundo against Netherlands.

    Many people can disagree with this due to the fact that they don’t watch the Bundesliga, but Florian Wirtz is a 100+ player. Around this time 2 years ago, he had an ACL injury that ruled him out for a year and since his comeback, he’s elevated his game to another level and has been the driving force of Bayer Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten run and success in the Bundesliga this season. He has 11 goals and 17 assists in all competitions and against France for Germany he just scored again today and he’s just enjoying himself on the field. To come back from that injury and to be playing in a way in which he’s doing right now that takes some doing and he’s only 20 years old.
    He’ll be on the radar of a lot of top clubs and I see him making a big money move eventually. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at Bayern Munich in the next 18 months because they’re a club that’s interested in him, I’d want to see that Jamal Musiala linkup and it’d be a great fit for him. As excellent of a player Thomas Miller has been for the Bavarians, at some point he needs to be replaced because they can’t rely on him forever since he’s 34 years old. Wirtz would be a perfect replacement for him and he’d be a great fit for Bayern Munich due to his versatility age and how much talent he has. I think this is a move that could eventually happen and if it does they’d pay over 100+ million for him, I think to play it safe and continue his development, I’d stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more season.

    France’s defense is the only issue they have. What’s their best combination in defense, what’s the back 4 that Deschamps will lineup with, Theo Hernandez is probably a guaranteed starter at LB, but at CB who starts Lucas Hernandez Benjamin Pavard Ibrahima Konate William Saliba Dayot Upamecano or do you move Jules Kounde at CB and maybe give Malo Gusto a rare chance because he’s having an excellent season at Chelsea in the midst of Reece James having another injury plagued season.
    That midfield has so much talent, we all know how brilliant Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchuoameni are, at the age of 17 Warren Zaire Emery is an exciting player and is excelling and starting week in week out for PSG and in my opinion, we can all agree that when this team has everyone healthy, Antoine Griezmann is the most important player on the France national team and that’s a fact right there. His presence in the team is genuinely irreplaceable and when he missed his first game for France since 2017, isn’t a surprise that they lost 2-0 to Germany even though he played in that other fixture when they lost. Didier Deschamps knows that France can’t win the EUROs without Antoine Griezmann despite how good Mbappe is because he offers a lot of experience in the attack, he’s the first player to build up their plays from deep into the attacking third, he links the play up and he is dangerous in the final third. What Kylian Mbappe can do is well documented he’s that good, even though Ousmane Dembele has finally had a season where he’s been relatively fit and has barely missed a game with injury since he joined PSG, he can do a lot more does great work, but doesn’t do enough in the final third and while Marcus Thuram has been amazing for Inter Milan, they’re a better team with Olivier Giroud as their striker and he’s 37 years old. Mbappe obviously loves playing with him and the guy himself is an integral player for Deschamps’ system, he and Griezmann are as important to the team as he is. I personally think that France are the team to beat at the EUROs, they’re massive favorites to win the tournament in the summer and I know it’s just a friendly, but not just against Germany, like in the last EUROs where they got knocked out of the last 16 by Switzerland, they can’t get complacent, the last World Cup they were so close to winning it back to back and at the EUROs, it’s possible they can win this tournament if the manager gets the right balance in the team.

    Jamal Musiala has gone from strength to strength at Bayern Munich in recent seasons and he’s already a key player on the Germany national team. It’s easy to forget that he’s still only 21 years old, but that guy is a phenomenal player. He’s had a bit of a mixed season so far, but he has found his form lately, he has 5 goals in his last 5 league games he has 10+ goals in the Bundesliga, 12 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. What’s special about his game is the fact that he passes the eye test with flying colors and while we live in a world where players are only judged off of stats and the only thing that fans care about is goals and assists to differentiate between a good and a bad player, Musiala is just incredible his dribbling control ability to get out of tight spaces technique etc, it’s like watching a La Masia player over and over again. In a “stat driven culture” his game catches the eye and he’s brilliant. He’s such a versatile player, he’s a number 10 a CM LM etc excels in any role in the midfield. Everybody talks about Jude Bellingham, but Jamal Musiala is a different beast and it’s unlucky for him that people don’t have time to watch Bundesliga because this guy is just memorizing.

  • @vladtepes97
    @vladtepes97 Před měsícem +2

    no matter the talent suffer from having fans who care more about domestic competitions than international ones. as a result, the players feel they're there to represent their clubs, not their country. that hampers the team-building portion of training. many former players, including gerrard, terry, lampard, ferdinand, have stated this has long been a huge problem in the england national team.
    also, talented or not, many english players don't play together until they reach the national side, meaning, it takes longer to grow chemistry and understanding between teammates.
    also also, southgate is not a very good coach, and too often plays players out of position.
