I love pocket squares! They're pretty much the only thing in Classic menswear were you can really have fun with! Well you can also really have fun with socks, but beside from that there aren't many items in your outfit were you can completely go nuts!
Hear! Hear! Great advice, per usual, Ms. Weston. I never wear a jacket without a pocket square and they're a very easy way to up your style game. I've always gone with silk as it provides a nice contrast to a lot of the worsted wool jackets are made of (especially tweed) but I'll have to look into cotton ones for their versatility. Love how you always focus on the details such as not having too much of the square exposed (a la Steve Harvey who I saw today while changing channels) and angling it towards the shoulder as well. I used to go for the single point fold but now mostly use the Presidential and puff ones. Great solid advice on matching as well.
Hey Ashley, What about matching it with the shoe& belt? For instance if I am wearing navy suit, white shirt, oxblood shoes&belt, is it a good idea, say wearing burgundy pocket square?
That should be fine, as long as the pocket square isn't silky. I'd even consider a white pocket square with green tipping. I think that'd look more subtle and better.
Who made these rules? I mean i want to know history behind it. Can you make a video on who created these rules or these are just individual code of conducts.
Sajal Sahai Check our The Gentleman’s Gazette, Sven gives examples, reasons, and why you do certain things. Much more informative and better quality than this video.
This is not the 30s anymore men don't have to wear 3 piece suits and pocket scarves and all this super fancy suit stuff men can wear casual at any time whenever they choose however they choose if you want a man to start wearing the fancy 3 piece suits you pick out you start buying for them
Why don't you put a time table to all your videos,I know it's gonna be a tiring work to do ,but it'd be appreciated, especially by me who recheck some much videos of yours from time to time
I know this is late but the most formal way to wear a pocket square is a white linen/cotton one in a presidential fold. That should be the only worn worn for funerals and extremly formal events
I personally like to wear pocket squares but I very rarely see any politician wearing them which is a sad thing. Perhaps it is because they worry it would make them too elitist or too dandyish compared to their average voter…
Cotton! That was my question - thanks.

What are your thoughts between a pocket square or a boutonniere? Is it appropriate to wear both at the same time?

Hey Ashley,

Thanks Ashley! Learnt so much from your vids! Two thumbs up 👍👍
Perfect!
So if I get a shirt tailored, should I get a pocket square made from the same shirting? Or does an exact match only really work with white?
Ashley what is your opinion on wearing a pocket square with a vest?
I actually like those tie and pocket square sets, I just don't wear them at the same time.....is that fine?
That's fine yes. If you like the print/colour then pair them with other pieces.
Hi Ashley, whats the difference between the plain tie and solid tie?
Hi Ashley, what should I look out for when shopping for a pocket square? Having TieBar.com shipped to my town is too expensive lol Many thanks!
You should come to NC and help a hopeless college kid with his style
Is it O.K to wear a navy suit, a white shirt and a navy bow-tie with a light green pocket square?
That should be fine, as long as the pocket square isn't silky. I'd even consider a white pocket square with green tipping. I think that'd look more subtle and better.
I would personally go for a darker green pocket square to be honest, less contrast but I'm sure it'd look good in light green.
u look amazing 👍
0:37 does he have one notch lapel and one peak?
Made me look twice...but no he doesn't.

Dude you recommend COTTON pocket squares?! You're tripping! Sorry but you lost me after that lmao...
I'm a huge fan of pocket square's with ornamental designs on them.
Honestly the Gingham Pocket Squares look awful imo.

Ashley "it looks tacky" Weston
What if you have all black ? Black suit , shirt , belt , shoes , socks ?
Then you become a comic book villain
Hey Ashley, can you wear a pocket square to a funeral? I live in Japan and it's very conservative, so I'm a bit unsure.

your outfit confuses me
I disagree about not matching tie and pocket square. They are almost always sold together. That means they are supposed to be matched.
Amateurish advice
