This song is an example of criticism of today's pop music, actually the whole music industry. Its a depiction on how the industry is trying to mold artists in the image they want people to see. It also tells something about the music of some artists. Covering random crap lines with good tune and beat to make it catchy, but ultimately their music is quite hollow. Just like a bag of Doritos, it looks really good outside, but inside its just mostly air, not much of the good stuff.

I feel like the songs I like from her are the songs that ARE her. The ones where she's the only writer. I mean, Should've Been Us is cool and fun and soulful too, don't get me wrong, but her EPs are so much better than her album.
What she wrote for the album was still her, but mixed with things that don't have to do with her style, her *Soul*.
I love Unbreakable Smile, Personal, Bottled Up. My too favorite songs from all time are All In My Head and Paper Hearts. Don't all of these describe her style perfectly?

+Filipe Lopes I tooooootally get what you mean! The songs where there's something mixed in are awesome, but... I guess it's kind of like drugs - once we've heard pure Tori Kelly we're craving it in every song of her we hear. The pure Tori Kelly songs are the ones I repeat and come back to.
To be honest though, I think it's great she's collaborating with people, because I'm sure she learns a lot from it. I just hope it doesn't mold her into something she's not, but I don't think it will.
