    Thank you, Jim, for this Navien video. While it didn’t answer to my issue (where the hell is that DIP switch? - I have an older 240a), I did learn something about my ten year old unit. BTW…..nice Porsche. I’m a long time owner of a 944, which is in winter-time mothballs right now. I’m already looking forward to spring! Take care!

    This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. czcams.com/users/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

    Hi. Is there a manifold for the circ pump (at the end point) or do you have a loop plumbed into your house? Not sure how the external loop works. Also, can you install PEX that close to a tankless unit? 18" linear for tanks. These things have really improved since the last one I installed. Great video, thanks. I'm sold.

  • @dshanahan99
    @dshanahan99 Před 2 lety +3

    Jim, I am pretty sure the internal and external recirc is in reference to the pumps, Internal will use the pump you have internal to the unit and will push water through the circ loop via that pump. External would be if you had an external pump connected to the pcb in the water heater. The "A" units come all ready to go with internal recirc you just need to flip up dip switch 1

    • @awnrc70
      @awnrc70 Před 2 lety +5

    Did the intelligence setting actually work, and if it did how long do you feel it took to learn your usage? Was the 10 min preheat sufficient or did you have to change it back. I have a new 240a2 and just changed setting from always on where plumber left it to intelligent so we’ll see. Good video

    That "well pump" setting is very vague - what does it do? I've always assumed it changes the control to better manage the pressure/flow swings associated with the well operation, but I've never really noticed much difference.
