"Let me show them!!"
"It's not finished you childish shrew!!"
*Meanwhile, the painting is fully facing Chloe and Andrew lmao*
RIIIIIIIIIIGHT 🤣😂🤣👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏿👏🏾🤣😂🤣😂🥰
I was going to post just that, lol
Lmaoi know right!!!!!!!!
Yeah I noticed that aswell I don't understand why they couldn't set the marks so they weren't right infront of them OR was that the joke?? Funny AF all the same..
THE WOMAN IS A DEVIL 😈
i think he meant to say childless shrew and mispoke
“You started this the day we met” “the day the sun went out!” 😂😂😂😂 definitely using this line in that exact voice
😂
Same lol. Of course she'd be confused at first and I'd be trying not to laugh
I was like, Zamnnnnn BURN! 🤣😂😂😂
Create your own she won't be mad at copycat.
Fantastic parody of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Cecily did an excellent job of channeling Elizabeth Taylor. Makes me want to watch the actual movie again.
It was a bit like "Shirley 2020" too!
@Sean Lawrence 👍🏻🙏
Right when I saw the thumbnail, I recognized this from Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and could not wait to see Cecily Strong channel Liz Taylor. She did a marvelous job and Jake as Richard Burton was great too!
That's no parody lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Movie holds up
"Thank you professor Williams and your wife Vanessa Williams"🤣😂 his delivery is so funny
She saved the best the best for last.
As silly and ridiculous as it was, the reveal of the first piece of "art" actually cracked me up. And I kind of want the last one, now that it's finished.
So true! I’d buy it.
P.S. Say hi to Kramer for me!
I really loved the dog with the afro 😂
I wonder what they did with the "art pieces" after this skit, like did they keep it in storage?
“Photos are art too” deserved at least half a laugh
As long as they are finished.
Tell that to Norman Rockefeller, hahaha
Man the moment Cecily is leaving the show I'm going to be real sad because man she is quite the MVP.
Kate McKinnon. Cecily Strong is OK though
@@voteZDLR Meh. Kate plays the same 3 characters in everything now
Cecily is a genius
Cecily Strong really is incredible. So perfect.
Kate Mckinnon is bottom tier when it comes to women on the show. Aidy and Cecily carry
The hottest, hammiest adaptation of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf around.
So good. I cannot believe how unbelievably good Gyllenhaals episode is. I really didn't even want to watch. I didn't expect much and now I feel guilty. Lol
@sound pilates and yoga where he failed I think it was the writers (per the norm)
I don’t know. I thought the Hamsters in the other Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf sketch were even hotter.
@@darwinsom957 idk this episode seemed to have more consistent decent writing. I wonder if it is bc of Gyllenhaals input? I think the guest host gets to brainstorm in some of the writing of the skits? Idk.
@@soundpilatesandyoga8531 hmmm. Good point
Cecily looks so beautiful in every era they make her up into, and then she kills it looking like Cathy Anne, she's so great! And singing too, love her!
You know you don't have to keep commenting on your own videos with these fake accounts, Cecily. We love you for who you are.
Except maybe not Cathy Anne lol
Fab. That cardigan looks like an exact replica of the one Burton wore in the movie. And the glasses too! Cecile does a great impression of Liz Taylor- including cleavage! Ha! Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf? Loved it
Plus the shrieking & accepted syllables
Tone of endlessly being disappointed, perhaps when she had no right
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite
Personally I think Jake has the better cleavage, love that chest!
Fd
Cecily is the freaking queen. So good in everything she does.
I am really surprised at how deeply & consistently Gyllenhall committed here. And Cecily Strong's "Elizabeth Taylor doing American Accent" is PERFECT!!!!!!! I mean I'm really impressed, she hits all of ET's beautifully odd intonations LOL!
Cecily's run on SNL is legendary.
“Ahh The Devil is A Woman”😂😂
I need to use that
@@seanraines5871 that’s funny as hell😂
Gotta love it when Cecily so clearly enjoys being in a sketch.
Great job by Cecily and Jake. I had to go and watch "Who's afraid of Virginia Wolfe?", and was awed by how closely they portrayed Elizabeth Taylor and the great Richard Burton. Cecily is pure Gold and her talent is exceptional.
"Sit down or I will sit you down" this sketch wins just for these awesome line deliveries. Cecily is genuinely one of the best "support players" in the history of SNL. Always makes the host look better.
I just love Cecily in every sketch.
She's always so loud though 🤣
She’s the best
Especially when she plays these arch characters, just brilliant. Add in the great delivery by Jake and it's a great sketch despite it kinda drifting into the abyss by the end 😂
Cecily’s Elizabeth Taylor accent is on point and Jake is John Hamm caliber funny
Jake and Cecily’s acting is really good. She does an amazing Elizabeth Taylor.
How is no one picking up on the "too dark" being pronounced "too dog" lmao 3:40
I thought it was just me. I expected them to call it out after two or three iterations in their signature style where one of the normie characters asks 'wait, are you saying dark or dog?'
What a great switch from the pretend son they never had, "we were going to have one of them" to the conceit of the art.
Excellent reproduction of set design.
Jake really picks up some iconic Burton faces. Great eyes, too.
Switch from what to what? Are you saying it starts implying they wanted a human child and now we're to understand they wanted a puppy? Or that they've embellished upon who's afraid of Virginia woolf by making the hypothetical offspring gender neutral
@@visible2NE1one0nUtube if you know the play it begins with the son alive, right? George warns Martha not to go there.
In this version there is no suggestion that they have a son, rather that they wanted one
@@darwinsom957 it's coming back to me now
So I'm convinced Cecily told Lorne she'd come back this season only if every other episode had a dog-themed sketch.
I like how much Andrew is in sketches now
same
Dimukes rules.
It’s cause they lost Beck
@@Matt-xc6sp I think Alex is taking Becks spot in sketches now.
@@Frayste those two were basically interchangeable to begin with, there’s still a void
“It was an honor to get a dinner invitation from the dean…”
“Junior dean!”
Sounds like my ex 😆
That witch lol
So much bitterness in that extra adjective 🤣
Makes me want to rewatch "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
Makes me want to rewatch Benny Hiil's parody
_Who's Afraid of_
_VIRGIN_
_WOOL_

TAYL
I Know right! Even tho that filmed emotional scarred and drained me
"IT'S NOT FİNİSHED!"😂😂
JAKE IS SO FINE IN THIS OH MY GODDD
The best part is that someone had to actually create these pieces of art for the show.
Good job on the costumes and set for this SNL take on "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." The paintings were hysterical. Cecily really rocked the Elizabeth Taylor character, as did Chloe Fineman for Sandy Dennis's role. It defies comprehension why this was cut and the Trend Forecasters bit was left in.
I don't remember what it was now, but there was one sketch that stood out to me as having a really high school level concept. This one had great elements but didn't quite fly, but it was better than that one. The head writer changed recently and they are going more with weirdness now, but that one I can't remember wasn't one of those either.
I think the dog art in this sketch which is said to be unfinished may serve as a commentary on the rest of the sketches in this episode. Do y'all agree with my analysis, or is it "TOO DOOG!"
@@emjayay what the heck are you talking about?
This has been hands-down the most off-the-wall bonkers episode of Saturday Night Live ever
These are my favorite types of Cecily characters. ❤️❤️❤️ She does bursting with repressed resentment and dreams so well lol
Love the Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf parody! Kudos to the designers, cast and crew. Looks fantastic! 😊💙🖤✨🥃🥂
Wish they showed this during the actual show. This is a great throwback with wonderful performances! Jake and Cecil are fabulous!
Ok but how much is the dean selling those dog portraits for cuz they're good!!!
@The SNL Network: First dibs on the dog with the fannypacks --
Junior Dean
Omg Cecilys intro for this skit is Emmy nom quality!!!! She is channeling Taylor so well here and Gyllenhaals Burton is so good. Her laugh ❤ I Love this skit-minus the dog art. Lol reminds me of me and my partner.
Wow, Cecily and Jake acting skills are light years ahead of us, so method
Chloe Fineman is such a bonny wee lassie. Just lovely, and talented.
Can we please thank the king or queen for uploading snl so quickly? Thank you!!!!
I think it’s time cecily gets her well deserved Emmy.
Junior Dean of the Fine Arts Progam: "The Devil is a wombman!"
Me: I felt that! Lol
I always love the one REALLY weird one. The chaos fits the times we live in so well.
This puts Velvet Buzzsaw in a whole different light: imagine if these paintings were used in that movie instead!
Skits like this prove the SNL crew is a bunch of theatre nerds and cinephiles lol. Love the parody.
Here’s why we can’t have a baby!
*holds up painting of a dog on the toilet*
Jake Gyllenhaal is another great SNL host because he is just up for anything, no matter how ridiculous 😅. I love it!
Exactly!❤😂
They didn't air this? One of the better things I've seen from SNL in a long time!
Yodapug. Artistic merit, it has.
Just sell them as nfts man…
Brilliant sketch. Brillliant Jake and Cecily.
How did this cut but the Doc Holiday sketch aired? The fun Jake and Cecily were having was infectious.
This sketch was better than half of the ones in the actual show imo
Well they aren't finished yet.
@@visible2NE1one0nUtube Good comeback! 🤣
"Who's afraid of severe over-acting?" -- my Lord, this is brilliant!!
WHY WAS THIS CUT FOR TIME??? this is perfect. also cecily is so stunning in this look
Edward Albee is looking up at this an dying laughing.
“Looking up”?!?!?!?!?! 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Jeeze Louise, I could watch this all day. His face at the end was straight Bubble Boy.
"It's a living" i can't, i just can't
The difference it makes when the host is an actuall actor
Didn't he do a painting of a bunch of dogs sitting around a poker table playing cards as well?
Yes and "Le Velveete de Elveese"
Makes me think of Sam in Cheers. He loved the dogs playing poker art 🤣
He did, but it’s not finished.
As soon as I saw the costumes and layout of the house, I knew exactly what this was a paradoy of. Great stuff.
what is it a parody of?
I LOVE Cecily and Jake going toe to toe like this
Jake shows us his great versatility.
He is one of the finest and most versatile actors around...
JAKE BEING ON HERE IS MY DREAM
Jake's acting is superb. He is one of the best we got this generation
I would have easily picked this sketch to be on instead of most of the ones that made it to air. I don't think they did a good job writing for him at all. But he certainly was a good sport about it -- apparently agreeing to everything they pitched.
Now I NEED to see Cecily Strong star in a production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
'The day the sun went out' 🤣😂
Who is Afraid of VW was a great play/move
Yes! But a number of mine are adaptations : Betrayal, Night of The Iguana etc.
Yes, Volkswagens are TERRIFYING.
The dog wearing 3 Fanny packs almost killed me.
Gotta admit...I was surprised at Jake and Cecily's acting abilities. I know it's comedy but damn, they can act.
are you joking
@@liloa03 #TROLL
oh my god i haven't thought cecily could look like liz taylor until now
She actually played Elizabeth Taylor on the "Joan Rivers Heaven Celebrity Roast" sketch from season 40. However, that was in the dress rehearsal version. The live show version referred to the Elizabeth Taylor impression as one for Ava Gardener, though I'm pretty sure there were similarities between them, in the same way they had Jayne Mansfield be like Marilyn Monroe.
And she still doesn't.
Finally! Someone gets what Edward Albee was going for
Elaborate, please. ( I really wanna know your take on it.)
@@annangel4828 Albee's intention was, "I work so hard on my art, staying up nights, only to have it shown before it's finished... Sometimes it makes me wanna....tell Lorne to find another head writer!"
What a lovely couple. You see how much they love each other even if they never had a baby. There are many couples like this.
I had the privilege of being in the cast of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”and I’m unsure how many people get the reference. It is brilliant!
Cecilia was so good in this, from the voice to the mannerisms
Absolutely loved this performance. So over the top, but perfectly done
The Art, is actually really good.👍
Love a Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf reference! Cecily always steals the door- she was chewing through the scene like Liz herself!
Jake Gyllenhaal as host was one of the better SNL shows. Cecily is the only reason I ever watch SNL anymore, she is awesome in any role she's given. Whatever SNL pays her it's not enough.
Man, I'm excited to see Quinto in the LA production of Woolf later this month, but I'd buy tickets to see Gyllenhaal in a heartbeat.
i love jake so much.
the last one was the best the bulldog is sooo cute he is actually talented!
Jake and Cecily are great together😂
I haven't laughed that hard at a SNL skit in a long time!!
Jake really enjoys comedy 😂
He's hilarious! ❤
The melodrama! I am loving this.
The yoda painting with the pup face in it was so funny 😂😂
reminds me of one of my all time favorite SNL skits "Cocktail Hour" with Charlize Theron.
Is that the one with the hamsters? I love that one.
thanks i enjoyed that.
It also was a parody of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
I have trouble drawing hands.
Give Cecily an Emmy already!!
this is surprisingly the third Who's Afraid sketch they have done on SNL
What/when were the other two?
Bravo to props dept! Who painted these?? They’re amazing 🤣
I know a lots of people who will definitely buy these art pieces
OMG I kinda want to buy the dog reading a newspaper while on the toilet pic. So cute and funny!
I love the straight line deliveries
It’s giving “dinner party” from the office but in an alternate universe
They can barely stay in character!!! 😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰
Love love LOVE how silly it was 😂😂😂😂
Cecile is great. I never tire of her.
Funny sketch 😜🐶. Cecily always does a great job.
