I was once on Holliday in Romania when a dog suddenly jumped onto my dads car. Luckily he was driving slowly and the puppy did not get hurt, turned out the pup was a stray and so we took Benji (the dog) to our grandparents house. He now is living a good life with them and we visit him almost every Holliday as we live in England.

@krazy s unfortunately, there are lots of stray cats and dogs in every community; you don’t need to go anywhere to save a life. It’s so sad people can just throw away a pet like taking out the trash. But, I agree that Bali looks like an amazing place to visit.

Edit: I'm getting a lot of comments from people saying some people don't have time and some have allergies, the key word is "imagine". Imagine people HAD the time and the space. (Most people aren't allergic to every single animal, so they could also get one that doesn't trigger their allergies).
I'm aware my dream is far from a possible reality, but it's a nice dream to have.

In this case I agree that money played a part, inasmuch as Taylor appears to be financially independent and could afford to stay in Bali and send Stevie independently to Indonesia, when it was time to return to the US. But goodness per se is not a function of wealth. Indeed to say that it is may be closer to the opposite of the truth. The fact that Taylor was compassionate was a function of her own nature, beliefs and enculturation, not her wealth.
@@davidw.robertson448 this isn't about being good. It's about doing things like what's being done in the video. Things that require having a large income.
The amount of good one can do is often restricted by a lack of finances. I don't know anyone that could afford to do what she did, but most people I know would be heart broken that they couldn't. So, if they were financially able, more people would do things like this.

Whenever you take your dogs to the mountains whether you’re on a trail or not, always have them on a leash. Buy a long one if needed. It takes one second for a mountain lion, wolf, coyote.... or whatever to grab a small dog. Keep your dog on a leash you keep them from becoming prey. I’ve seen so many stories of small dogs being taken also dogs in general getting hurt from falling off rugged terrain.
Good advice - I know of a Rottweiler taken out of a fenced compound and carried into a nearby tree by a mountain lion in my county (Northern CA). Plus there are hawks, eagles, etc. Not to mention rattle snakes are EVERYWHERE in the hills.
I agree with that. I never like to be that person to bring negativity to such a beautiful story, but I would have for something to happen to Stevie given all she went through in the early part of her life and just her long journey to the US. She’s such a beautiful little dog.

We all need to ADOPT, take our dogs to a reputable veterinarian to be spayed and neutered and NEVER EVER BUY A DOG/CAT OR BREED DOGS/CATS, when there are millions of dogs and cats in need of a home. Also we should EDUCATE our relatives above adopting, spaying and neutering and about never buying pets. That's the only way to stop the suffering of millions of animals. This is a human created problem. Let's all solve it together.

Dearest Taylor Smith, you're a person with an ocean size(no end) heart full of love. I definitely believe that your dad sent Stevie for you. There was a dog skinny with dirty coat I met when we were on a medical mission to Brazil. It was very poverty driven area. To make it short, my attemp to bring him home was not successful. I can still picture him and didn't forget about him. Your dad and I are very proud of you. I think your dad will say, 'that's my girl, so loving and caring!' 😍 I'm SO~~~~ proud of her!' LOVE THIS WITH MY WHOLE HEART! This happened when I found my girl. I wanted to save a dog from a shelter an hr from me who was on red alert that he was going to be put down.
I called the shelter and said I will be there tomorrow at your door when you open to take the dog they said they don’t hold dogs. I went there an hour before they opened and stood there knocking and making sure they know I’m there. They opened and it turned out that this senior German Shepherd that I was there to take home was “adopted out” the night before. I broke down because I knew he was euthanized and that I was too late. It was all a lie. They killed him before they even opened. I drove home and stopped by to get tea at a local Starbucks to calm my stomach since I felt absolutely sick and was a wreck. In the alley behind it I ran into my baby. She was small, and dirty and covered in fleas. I took her home no chip no tags no missing posters.. let’s just say she’s now my best friend ever. And life has never been the same.

I hate shelters like that. Why on earth would they killed that poor senior German Shepherd? You've told them that you were going to pick him up. Some people are just NOT qualified to work at shelters. But I'm glad you found your baby girl.
