David Howard Thornton is too good at playing Art
If you thought the body being sawn in half was bad, one of the kills in Terrifier 2 is straight up overkill. Possibly the worst death you can imagine.
Did we even see her die? I’m pretty sure she was still alive by the last time we saw her, makes it all the more brutal.
@@Stumme-40203 I don’t know how someone can survive that tbh
@@Slade_Havokhe has the ability to make his victims immortal to prolong their suffering.
Horrible. I happen to really like scary movies but these are totally vile.
That shit with the trick or treat? Damnit man😩😭
Damien leone, the director of these films, is a special effects artist. I imagine he made these films to push himself and perfect his craft. Whatever he made these for, I'm happy he bloody did because I love Art.
"I've never heard of a vein being in your armpit before"
Oh boy, you'll be surprised to see how a circulatory system diagram looks.
You’re reactions during the scene where she gets cut down the middle was priceless. I watched this movie just to see what the fuss was about. It was crazy.
They're so gross. 2 was almost unwatchable.
@@ct6852Terrifier 2 is awesome.
Terrifier is actually the second film with Art the Clown in, he first appeared in a segment of a film called All Hallows Eve.
There is a movie called All Hallows' Eve (2013), where Art The Clown is first introduced. It's by the same writer/director of Terrifier Damien Leone.
That's interesting as what I didn't like was how there was no origin story. I will check it All Hallows Eve.
Love no matter how many movies these guys have seen they still have Visceral Reactions to gore and prosthetic make-up! The ones In Unison are my favorite! 😁
The Terrifier movies are very 80's inspired and they become soooo much more enjoyable when you keep that in mind hahaha
15:18 tom has the face of changed man after that saw scene hahahah his eyes look shell shocked for the next few min
You guys are in for a treat. Some people disagree but you can tell they improved the acting, story, and effects in the 2nd movie compared to this one
There are currently 3 movies that feature Art the Clown. Terrifier 1 and 2 are the more well known ones. But before these there was 'All Hallow's Eve'. Look for it. It's an anthology movie featuring several different stories all connected to Art in some way. The wrap around story has a babysitter taking care of some kids. One of the kids finds a video tape and they watch it. This is how the stories are told. The babysitter is the same actress that plays the talk show host at the start of Terrifer. The supernatural element was already in place with Art since this movie seems to take place some time after part 2 or 3 when Art is now immortal. The original version of Terrifier is featured as one of these short stories. Art is also portrayed by a different actor. T1 follows the rules of movies like Halloween where it wasn't supernatural. Part 2 goes the Nightmare on Elm Street route bringing in fantasy elements. 80's horror type things. Part 3 will take place during Christmas.
I saw the teaser for the 3rd movie and it looks like we're in for a really brutal scene. These kids go downstairs to see what Santa brought them and it's Art dressed as Santa. Then there's a cut and next we see Art in the same house with blood everywhere then it ends. It's gonna be a brutal, brutal movie based on that
Terrifier gets by on how memorable a villain Art the Clown is and its excellent practical effects/gory kills. In terms of setting, atmosphere, characters and suspense, it admittedly doesn't have a whole lot going for it. It's a solid slasher film, but I wouldn't say it's on par with the likes of Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. The sequel is definitely a step up and I'm eager to see where this franchise goes next.
I totally agree that this movie was all Art. You don't watch or like the movie for any other aspect. I also agree that 2nd movie made the effort to make everything else better in terms of other characters, plot, and dialogue
Oct 2024 for part 3. Gonna be a Xmas movie lol excited for that
Toms reaction to the saw scene was priceless he looked quite ill while Sean took it in his stride 😂😂
Great reaction guy's, always enjoy your post movie discussions.
Tom might actually vomit at the second one then
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 😂 😂 👍
I've met the guy that plays Art the clown, David Howard Thorton, and he's a really sweet guy to talk to. It's kinda surreal lol.
I didn’t care for this the first time I saw it, but after watching the sequel, both became two of my all-time favorites.
I can tell that everything within this movie is all based on the definition of 80s horror, like the victims who has such bad acting, dummy heads getting squashed and cut up, 80s thriller type music, and the supernatural...all of this is exactly like you would see in an 80s horror movie.
on the subject of clowns, they have to watch one of my favorite horror films and just films in general: Killer Klowns from Outer Space!! they’d love it. can’t wait to Terrifier 3 as well
I've shared you guys video with one of the producers for the Terrifier series, my buddy Steve. Hopefully he will see it soon and maybe get it to Damien. Love you guys videos!
I can't believe you guys watched this. Awesome. Must watch part 2. Holy shit.
Suggested this a couple of times, glad y’all finally saw it, can’t wait to see your reactions for part 2 and 3 when the 3rd one comes out
Tom’s T-shirt ❤ I used to have this poster on my door in 1986 ;) 😅
In regard to the supernatural element… you also have to realize this is not Art The Clown’s first appearance and the Supernatural element was introduced in the previous film All Hallows Eve.
I love that you got extra british during the hacksaw scene. “Y’a seen’nit! Y’a seen’nit!!” “Jesus wept!!” 😂😂😂
honestly one of your best reactions. this movie is wild and the sequel is even better. hope to see you guys do that next.
12:11 JOKER LAUGH LOL
14:49 😂😂 remember the first time I seen the saw kill. Love that these movies are getting recognized. 2 is great, & 3 already has controversy floating around with the opening scene🤘🏻🔥
Terrifier is underrated and underappreciated. We need more movies like Terrifier that give us new icons like Art and less movies like Smile or Truth or Dare.
Nahh it's not even that old and I'd say it's already a cult classic 😅
I like to think there's a place and audience for both. Imagine all the people!!
Smile is great and shouldn't be compared to movies like Truth or Dare at all. I honestly did think Smile was going to be like a "truth or dare" generic horror film and was pleasantly surprised when I actually watched it.
Hey, Smile was definitely great. It follows personally was underwhelming
@@Eldaaa its still a niche movie.
You'd basically need to be an elephant to crush a human skull like that by stomping on it ^.^;
The plot of this movie leaves a lot to be desired, but even so, this movie is soooo fun to watch! I am obsessed with Art the Clown! He is both terrifying and hilarious. I prefer the first movie to the second one, but they are both fun to watch. I can't wait to see the Terrifier 3!
The 2nd film is shocking 😮😮😮😮
Just like Scanners, we watched for your reaction for one scene more than any other.
Love your guys new thumbnails and new vid quality and lighting and whatnot....
I started watching a while back and watch ALOT,
Left....came back cuz i luv y'all 🤠
&& BOOOOOOM💣🔥🧑🚒 i came back to EVEN WAAAY NICER UPGRADES TO EVERYTHING Y'ALL ARE DOING KEEP UP THEE INCREDIBLE WORK
I like to play a little game when watching your reactions. Counting how many times Tom ends a sentence with 'Man'. Lol.
You should also watch ‘All Hallow’s Eve’ 2013 which was the first movie with Art the Clown.
I'll never stop being amused over how David Howard Thornton based his goofier moments on Stefan Karl, the guy who played Robbie Rotten.
If you want something in this vein, but actually good, a couple french films 'Martyrs' and 'High Tension' are must watches. The terrifier movies have some decent sfx and stuff and art is an effective / interesting character to watch, but the movies are pretty crap. The sequel has some good scenes but desperately needs cutting down, there is so much wasted time it becomes a chore to watch, the runtime is massively inflated to a fault.
It's funny that you guys mention the Halloween movie because this actually came out before the 2018 Halloween. So that means the "head Jack-o-lantern" was copied by Halloween and not the other way around.
Absolutely love the Terrifier movies. I prefer part 2 but think both are great and a real feat considering their budgets. The first was made for a measly 35k which is incredible I think. Love Damien's make up effects in this (practical effects are soooo much better than CGI) and Art is such a fun character. I do agree the victims in this movie aren't smart and fall into a lot of the horror tropes, but this movie is definitely a showcase for Art and a way to get the ball rolling. Part 2 has more story and and the acting is better etc. I am a huge 80s horror fan and usually don't like clowns at all, I think they're lame, but I am obsessed with Art and these movies. I love that Damien is saying screw Hollywood and keeping them indie and pushing limits! I can't wait for part 3!!! Great reaction fellas! That hacksaw scene is a doozy for sure! Can't wait to see you guys react to part 2! 💀🤘🏻
The reason she says "Figures..." about the tyres is because the reason they're stuck there is a flat tyre
This reaction video reminds me why you two are my favorite horror film reactors on You Tube. Will you react to Terrifier 2? All 2.5 hours of it?
🤡TERRIFIER 3 Is planned on coming out October of NEXT YEAR! But there's a twist... It will be set on CHRISTMAS!!!!!! 🎅🎄
Shaun is correct in the fact that Art the clown has created a huge following and he is making a name for himself. Terrifier 3 has been confirmed as well. Personally Terrifier 2 is better but this is a great introduction to the soon to become trilogy. Also, had the same reaction as you guys with the woman being sawed in half! 😱
Actually, the actor playing Art isn't wearing a mask
It's a mold
They'd have to remake it though because they'd eventually stop filming for the day
And the actor went to mime school and uses that while playing Art
These reaction videos make these movies seem so much more intense than they really are.
Met the director and actor for "Art" and have a photo and autograph, love these films
Well, THIS movie didn't wallop me quite the same way it seems to many other people. But, then again, I'm no virgin to F’d up ultra-violent cinema. I've grown up watching flicks like Pieces, Make Them Die Slowly (Cannibal Ferox), Faces of Death, The Gore Gore Girls, Pink Flamingos, Female trouble, Maniac, New York Ripper, Eraserhead, Henry; portrait of a Serial killer, Blood Sucking Freaks and the sort. And THAT has no doubt sort of soothed the impact for me.
7:17 New Jersey. Trenton, New Jersey.
Grew up near there. Movie checks out
I love Art the Clown. Best scary clown look ever!
Before Terrifier, Art already appeared in All Hallows Eve. In that movie you'll see his actual supernatural nature.
10:57
Armpit is a straight shot to your lungs and heart, will a long enough blade getting hit there could absolutely be fatal. This, along with gaps like eye-slits, are where soldiers used to target men in full plate armor.
And you're absolutely right. These movies are all about Art the Clown. He's the star of these movies.
The best slasher movie in a long time....and to think abou...this movie is made with a budget of 35000 dollars....the person i love the most is David howard thorton he play´s Art the clown....but anyway.....the director of this film...Damian Leone did all of the special effect....make up....and more
he is an icon. Was so funny watching people walk out during the second one
This movie is a tribute to freddy krueger a nightmare on elm street...both movies have a similar opening scene with the slashers creating their signature weapons. Both have supernatural abilities and both have a certain amount of humor installed in their killers.
TERRIFIER isn't my fave, but TERRIFIER 2 absolutely SLAPS. Total banger.
Great vid. Where did you get that Smiths shirt though?
Love this one, and yes the sequel is better in every way, they had a bigger budget and took what worked and expanded on it, better story, better characters, better kills, better soundtrack.. and the practical effects are just as good if not better...i saw the trailer for Terrifier 3 as well and that one is going to be a blast!! I can't wait! lol...Art is becoming one of my favourite slashers of all time he's already flying up near the top of the list!
There is one single thing that is worst about the sequel but it makes such a huge impact: The color of the blood in Terrifier 2 looks way too much like raspberry-syrup. The movie would have been gore perfection with a better blood-color.
Great reaction. Gotta add that I love your shirt, Tom.
I dressed up as art the clown for Halloween this year
IMO, the Terrifier franchise is the best original slasher since The Strangers.
You guys need to watch Turbo Kid. Greatly underrated movie that deserves more exposure. You'll love it.
Also hope y’all do Terrifier 2 soon.
They should make a spin off of the weird lady with the fake baby and how psycho she is.
I don't think the sequel is more brutal than this movie at all. The tone is so goofy in 2, and it has way more of a mainstream horror vibe with the typical final girl plot armor and etc. The first movie was just different than most other horror at the time.
Loved the reaction and Tom’s tshirt
Art the Clown is most definitely an iconic horror character. That's a very hard thing to accomplish these days. Have you seen Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer yet?
It’s almost better to think of this movie as a prologue, the very short intro that is sometimes at the beginning of books to kind of set the tone for the general story. It’s not really a chapter, just a slight insight into the world and the character of Art the Clown before we jump into the real story beginning with Terrifier 2, which I think is about to kickoff a whole chain reaction of events that will play out over the course of the next few sequels. Part 2 doesn’t spell everything out either, and I think it does so intentionally. It seems as though Damien Leone finally found some sort of story to follow whilst waiting in between these first two films. I’m super excited for part 3, I think it’s going to be the best of the 3 films considering it’s finally getting a decent low-budget.
I feel like All Hallows Eve is the prologue to Terrfier 1.
@@em.415 I don’t know if I’d count that. It doesn’t really seem like that counts in terms of the canon for Art the Clown anymore. It’s more of a proof of concept for me. I still like All Hallow’s Eve though, and I think that aspects of it will find themselves back in the Terrifier franchise, such as the 9th Circle segment. Don’t think we’ve seen the last of those demons yet but I think it’ll be reworked and tweaked to fit better into the overall Art story.
The second one is even better!
Cant wait for terrifier 3. The trailer looks great. The tree is going to be one of a kind when hes done decorating that tree by adding some years to it 💀🔪
“Bone Tomahawk.” Somehow, imo, worse. Feels more realistic than anything the Terrifier franchise has done.
A good horror movie, a better western.
Bless your hearts for watching this.
Enjoy, love Art the clown 😬
This is the best horror movie since the exorcist! No bad acting!
you need to see the second one
You should watch “Bone Tomahawk”!!!
"Just have fun with it" he said.... You guys need to get to the Spookyrice⚔️ materia. Then watch the sequel.
I love Art the Clown! ❤ Have his picture hanging in my theatre room right beside Michael and Jason. 🔪😁
David did such a great job....athough i am abit of an actor made my own horror movie....but it is so difficult
This one is better then the sequel in my opinion, I don't want to SPOILER anything but it is less gory and I loved that part about this movie
Can’t remember what it’s called but there is absolutely a major artery in your armpit. I could be wrong but I believe you can bleed out in minutes if that artery gets severed or damaged enough.
watch Martyrs 2008
Damien Leone has it all planned out from start to finish. He is not making just another random killer like Michael Myers for example. Here when he was writing Terrifier 2016 he was already planning Terrifier 2 an when he was. Writing Terrifier 2 he was already planning Terrifier 3 an maybe Terrifier 4. If he can't finish Art the Clowns story in Terrifier 3. So Damien Leone has a start that is this movie an a ending all planned out already. Its just going to take 3 or 4 parts or movies to get there.
Damien Leone is setting up things for the next movie in this movie an so on down the line. So in the end everything is connected. Unlike other writers that only write an plan the movie they are currently working on. They are not thinking of what happens next they think of that when the time comes to work on the next movie.
Damien Leone knew the start an the middle an the end of Arts story from the start. Its just coming out in parts because thats how the kind of story he wants to write an tell works.
Omg I thought I watched it.. but I watched the second one 😅 didn’t effect my experience. But thanks, now I know there is a part 1.
Learned something, Sean hates his family lol and Tom you need the supernatural aspect for the sequel
Can’t wait for you guys to do 2:)
As one who's around 200 lbs, I can assure that I wouldn't be able to cave in a face like that. Now, if I were 400 lbs (like a silverback gorilla, for example), I might be able to pull it off!
i'm scared already
A lot of people tend to be... split... on this movie.
Honestly, solid low budget movie right here. Prefer it over the second by a long shot. Art the Clown is a amazing villain and definitely deserves to be up there with Jason, Freddy and Michael Myers.
Thanks, Shaun! Thanks, Tom! 😱
You needed to watch all hollows eve, that would let you understand Art the Clown more. The 2nd has more of a story in it.
You guys should react to Insidious
Shaun please do not subject Hattie to any part of Terrifier.
Time to react to Terrifier 2 now
I'm of two minds about this. I think Art the Clown is a great addition to the horror pantheon, the way he moves, the way he acts, all without making a sound, just really creepy and unnerving. The film also has pretty good gore, though a touch sadistic and "torture-porn" for me. Everything else though, like the acting, the writing, etc., is really just not good. The second film is even worse in those areas, including the filmmaking, and for much longer. So I don't know. I think if the director focused on the gore effects and let someone else take a crack at an Art the Clown film, we could get something really great. For now though, I don't have high hopes for future films.
No.
Seriously no
Agree with every word.
Great reaction! Pleeeeease do Train to Busan! Don’t think you’ve done it yet?
Tom clearly didn't like the movie at all despite his inflated score. Shaun sounded like a cheerleader without the pom-poms. Shaun clearly saw both movies.
These movies are just crazy and over the top. I enjoyed them though lmao
I thought this one was sickening until I saw the deaths in Terrifier 2. This is nightmare inducing fuel. God knows why people make these sick flicks.
