Tekken Tag 2 - Best of Special Tag Throw & Great Combo Exhibition, these throw animations has a great personality back then. Tag Mode in Tekken 8 could also be an interesting option.
What makes both Tag games spectacular is watching your favorite characters fighting as a team; that sense of character building and community is what makes the duology extra special.
It was easily the funnest thing ever. Right when t7 came out I was like mannnn, no way it's gonna be as fun as ttt2. Imagine if ttt2 had all these patches an updates on balance etc, would've been so killer
Same for me, I hold both Tag games in pretty high regard, Tag 2 being the best Tekken game ever of course, and Tag 1 was very flawed and could get very boring at high levels of play (because backdash was so strong there) but it was fun at the arcades nevertheless. It was still better than both Tekken 3 AND Tekken 4 so it remained a stalwart title for the Tekken community during the early 2000's until 2005 when T5 finally dethroned it.
You can't watch this compilation of special interactions and Easter eggs and tell me that both Tekken Tag Tournament games weren't certified love letters to the franchise as a whole. It's a shame that TTT2 ended up selling the worst out of all the games, though, because imagining the amount of content, attention to detail, and love the developers would have given a hypothetical Tekken Tag Tournament 3 makes my heart ache.
If only Namco had supported and backed Tag 2 up just as much as they did to Kekken 7. They let Tag 2 down themselves. Having it ride on the back of some rapper like Snoop Dogg for publicity was an awful move. As was to never release it on Steam.
@@armanclarkConsidering the fact that TTT2 only sold 1.5 million copies, which is less than the amount of copies T1 sold, I highly doubt that TTT3 is ever happening.
@@E24KLawson I'm still keeping my hopes up. Tekken 7 is a completely new way Bamco handled Tekken games and since Tag 3 won't be out for at least a decade with the pace they're going, I'm sure they will have the time to fund and learn from their mistakes for Tag 3
TT2 didn't sell well, BUT it was the most fun out of all the Tekken I've played and also the most unbalanced. That Kazuya and Jinpachi tag combo is the strongest in the game.
@@Gazzoosethe1 Because most people buy FG for the fighting, and Tekken 7 handled the fighting mechanic (along with matchmaking) the best out of all Tekken game
I love how everyone have flashy punches or throws to perform a tag throw and then there's Miguel who's just like Imma throw you to your damn father Jin 1:10
0:19 I never seen this! I should try this too. Man, Bosconovitch tag moves with Alisa and Yoshmitsu were great. 1:47 Putting Alex on a test 2:04 how did you do it!? I kinda laughed when Unknown transformed to Devil when she was using Kazuya's moveset. 2:50 that was brutal!
To change Unknown's fighting style (like anytime in a round) in TTT1, you just press the left stick (L3 button). Though it resets to Jun's fighting style in the next round. I think it's a programming error where Unknown and Tetsujin/Mokujin can turn into Devil Kazuya if they were using Kazuya's fighting style. It was fun to watch but feels so wrong.
This game was a tribute to Tekken’s history as well as a final tribute to bound moves. I’ve been an Alisa main since 2010, and TTT2 made me a modern Jun main since 2014. Here’s to hoping there would be a TTT3; the new characters from T7 would be an awesome bunch to play as/with!
had to say that TTT1 was the very first video game I've played as a child. 7-year-old me would be so happy to find out that Tekken is still thriving and that we have a new one coming ahead.
I actually enjoy playing tag 2 and tag 1.They can both be fun despite of their problems alongside being a bit broken in some ways lol. But they feel like small love letters in their own ways in which I appreciate them for it.
Tag 2 may not have sold well and was competitively busted, but what other game let’s you duke it out with your opponent in the middle of Snoop Dogg’s concert with your Tekken character cosplaying Mario/Luigi/Toad/Link/Zelda/Zero Suit Samus/Fox?
Not only those cosplays but you can p much make anyone look like anyone outside the game. The customization system is still peak here. Like I remember already seeing Lucky Chloe, Claudio etc. customs in Tag2 when T7 wasn't even golbally released yet for Vanilla.
I will forever LOVE the Tag games! They were so amazing and gave me so many positive memories! 🙂🙂🙂 My favorite moments in this video is 0:05 and 1:18 , incredible combo movees, well done! 😃😃😃
Tekken Tag 1 and 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. The first one blew my childhood mind, I couldn't comprehend that the characters from the first 3 games were all there. I played it all day at the arcades and would cry, kicking and screaming when my mom had to physically drag me away from the arcade machine. That game was truly something beautiful. While the second one was a constant presence in game nights with friends in my college days and Pair Play vs became our way to bond. Tekken Tag 1 and 2 are truly a celebration of all things awesome about Tekken and I'm thankful for all the memories these games and the Tekken series as a whole has given me in my life.
Tag 2 had so much content that wasn't dlc (even tho there was a little) or a season pass that I wish current fighting games were still made that way but they essentially have to live with them now
Unknown into Devil Surprised me too! I think its an oversight on the developers: have Devil as a partner, and then unknown using kazuya's move list, is what I think allowed it. Still Hilarious and freaking awesome lol
Said it once and I'll say it again; Tekken Tag Tournament is Tekken at it's best. None of that story nonsense, just pure raw gameplay filled with customization, great selection of modes, amazing roster, fan service, and hilarious character endings.
Glad to see you finally recognized the Forest 2+4 to Marshall being a reference to their interaction in the Tekken 3 opening cinematic. You had missed that in your previous video about Tekken secret details and references 😛
I want Tekken Tag Tournament Three (TTTT) to have more characters, more in depth character relationships, and every stage/soundtrack form every past Tekken game... updated, of course. I'd gladly pay $100 for that.
And this is why we must see a Tekken Tag 3. Forget about the numbers Tag 2 did for a second and just... imagine. After Tekken 7's success and gameplay features, it's bound to be a winner.
It's so wild seeing all of these comments that TTT2 sold horribly. I spent all of middle school playing TTT2 man... this video gives me major nostalgia feels
After replaying Tag 1 and 2 recently, I discovered that for me at least, playing Tekken with a single character starts to feel wrong after a bit. Don't get me wrong, Tag is a spin-off, yes, but there is such a magic and the goddamn attention to detail in both entries (Tag 2 in particular has literally small easter eggs thrown in every single corner you can think of), that I can't really play normal Tekken anymore. Tag 2 was also the first time ever I really put time into any game in the series. Tag was also one of the best party games I played with friends, either with Pair-Play or the minigames as well. I really wish we could get another Tag game, at the very least as a sort of extra mode like the GBA title did (Tekken Advance basically has a Tag 1 mode included)
TTT1 and TT2 have almost no story and yet have the best story and character building in ANY fighting game, let alone Tekken game I wish we didnt have to wait so long in between releases
Just noticed Bryan has a move similar to Cervantes where it's an in air grab with his gun sword shoots them twices and smashes them to the ground to the other side. Bryan obviously doesn't have a gun hand so. Just gut punch to the ground. Pretty neat
Despite it being the least selling game in the franchise, TTT2 is still amazing to me. It is STILL my favorite Tekken game (along with many Tekken fans). And it's arguably the wildest combat game ever produced.
