    Notes for myself:
    Passions are formed, not found
▪find passions by actually doing things!
    ▪clarity comes from doing
Success fuels passion more than passion fuels success
▪if you define passion as a feeling then you risk failure if/when that feeling changes
▪think about what you would suffer for.
Suffer for something you actually care about

Put all your energy and attention towards what you want to do right now and you won't have to worry about the longterm. As long as you keep doing this, that will make up your lifetime

Searching for a single grand passion can often be linked to perfectionism - we want to get everything just right and be 100% certain something will be *perfect* for us. But life is messy and malleable, and so are the things we love. It's best to simply enjoy the exploration.

Your point on romanticising passion was such a good one. For me, "passions" are a labour of love: a love, but no doubt laborious. Maintaining them isn't always easy, but they're absolutely necessary to making you feel alive and enthralled in the world.

Understanding that helped me a lot with making all kinds of decisions.

I dont think this is really necessary but for me even just meeting so many new people outside my usual bubble and also distancing myself a bit from those who I noticed held me back in some ways was super helpful. I really got to know myself better and learned what was actually important in life for me.
I met some super inspiring people that showed me different ways of making decisions and going about life. Still in the end the most important thing was actually figuring out what gives me the most joy and fulfils me. My observation is that oftentimes we feel somewhat entitled to solutions presenting themselves out of nowhere... Forgetting that it takes time and effort to find what we truly enjoy. It's a lifelong journey! We're constantly evolving. No surprise that we're persistently searching for something, let it be passion or purpose. Finding anything worth having in life comes from trial and error though, and that requires action, not just guesswork.

I think maybe it’s easier for people who are lucky enough to grow up with parents or other role models around them who encourage, compliment, validate and therefore reinforce what you are good at, to find their ‘passion’. And even ‘picks’ a passion for you as you tend to do what you see around you. As Lana says, success fuels passion and by actually doing something who is seen by others we form an identity around that. For people who lack that validation it’s harder, and they must do the work to validate themselves (both as a person and what they do/accomplish) and find a community who can fuel that. A lot comes down to feeling seen, worthy and validated by others as well as yourself. Remember that you are worthy to feel good. 💞

Passion has always been a tricky one. What we tend to think is that there's some hobby, career, activity etc. out there that's the key to living our most fulfilling life, one that'll make us happy and keep us satisfied for the rest of our lives. But there's nothing like that.
No matter what you want in life, or how you choose to do it, you won't always find it fun or thrilling, you'll have your ups and downs and that's part of life.
Yes there are things in life that just won't work out for us, but that doesn't mean you'll come across something and the stars will align and it'll be perfect. Sometimes you start something and realize that while it may have not been something you ever thought of in the past, it ends up becoming something you do for the long-term.

Thank you fort your videos. I want to share a little bit on this subject. Younger, I thought that I had only one passion, it was a big one, and I followed it, it became my job... And I was loosing passion, I wasn't happy. Having this passion as a job was making me sick and unhappy, not because it's not a passion, but because I had to make so many sacrifices that was to much for me to be happy. It wasn't working with who I am and what I need to be happy and healthy. It wasn't the right way to live for me. What I didn't know, is that I have so many other passions, I didn't know because I had never tried before. Sometimes, trying new things is really a good thing. And my first passion, became a passion again, I just need it to not be my only job, to do it less, and appreciate it more when I do it. As I try new things, I am learning about myself more and more. Passions can change, we can have more than one passion, and it's not because something is a passion that we would be happy having it as a job. That's what I learned!

Powerful video! I struggle with this really hard right now and although I feel like I know what I like and what I don't like, it's still incredibly hard to turn these feelings into action because it would mean a big and uncertain change. I'm confident that I will find my way eventually but getting there is really not easy.
Also the moment you mentioned Mark Manson made my heart warm. I adore his books!

As someone who grew up with a lot of interests, choosing what you want to do, I think, is just as difficult. But you're right, perhaps it really just comes from doing things that eventually help form a path that you could thrive in. I've been doing mental analysis and frameworks of which path to take based on quantified experiences, which at this point is stressing me out. Now I'm realizing the only way to find out is not through micro-analyzing, but through experiencing. "Clarity comes from doing" !!!

'Passions are formed, not found'. Amen Lana! Passions and hobbies come through experiencing things. There is nothing more powerful than trying things, doing things, practicing good habits and not being afraid of experiencing new habits if needs be, to find what truly motivates you and truly soothes you.
You are your own self healer and you are your greatest coach in life. Juts believe in yourself and do what you want to do, your purpose in life will come from that.

I remeber talking with my father and he told one thing that changed my life. " I try to enjoy and love my job independent of what job i take".The people think that they gonna find a dream job and be happly ever after, but the truth is that we have to find happiness in any situation that we can, only accepting our reality and trying to be happy the way life is now until we can "change our lives", thats what i think.
    thank u for the video

Why are your insights so good!? I've been subscribed for a while but honestly it was a bit of a half hearted subscription because I usually prefer to listen to these sort of perspectives when they are biblicly based but when I listen to your videos I feel like I've learned something new, true, helpful (and not incompatible with Christian based teachings)!

It’s true the pressure from society on “finding your passion” leads to mislead road and deep within we all have our interests it’s a matter of time till we actually choose to take actions based on our interest and finally live our passion 🌼 great video ✨

I love that quote from Jerome Bruner. This idea is something that my therapist has taught me and I try to remember it every time I lack motivation - it probably won't come out of nowhere, but rather by me doing something and feeling good about it, nine times out of ten that's what's going to help me. I've also heard a TED talk by Terry Trespacio (sorry if I misspelled her name) that quote you mentioned comes from - one of the most meaningful TED talks for me. Changed my perception of passion, and this quote still pops into my head from time to time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, you're such a sweet person.

I tend to see passion somehow different from what to do with our lives. Passion is something that brings joy to our hearts, what we want to do with our lives is a kind of a life’s mission. Thank you Lana for the video, always among the best here on CZcams!
