Many thanks from the UK - you saved my day, Jack! I was doing a recon HV battery swap in my 2006 Prius but after two hours could not get the relays etc to trigger and system fire up. Your service plug advice (inset AND push down) brought the old chap back to life. HV battery failure was the first issue after 18 years and 170k miles.

Just installed the Nexpower, and it was a great experience. High quality product and best customer service experience I ever had on a major purchase. Only wish I had found this video before I ran on EV mode, but the LFP seeems none the worse for a short trip, and naturally when it got to two bars the ICE kicked on any way. LFP is a TOUGH battery, and STRONG. Life time investment and very glad I got it while supply lasted. Jack made the whole install experience a joy too and helped with a few difficulties and questions that were answered with this video which is highly recommended.

Great information Jack. I admit to having a brief issue with the orange safety plug when I completed the install on my 2010 Prius. I used the Dr Prius app to find the trouble code and a quick Google search of the code and I determined I didn’t have the orange safety plug fully locked in place. This video will definitely help people on future installs. I’ve had your cells in my car for 1500 trouble free miles and WOW have they improved the performance and efficiency of the car. I have 215,000 miles on it and my mpg went from 43 mpg up to 53 mpg! Thank you for engineering an amazing upgrade that is easy and affordable!

Thank you for this comment Jeffrey I was wondering what the mileage difference might be. I have one with 390K right now and Im documenting the refresh this time because I want to see the mileage improvement if any before trying a Lithium upgrade then do the upgrade and document that too.

Im gonna start calling you Genious Jack. Not only is this a great video for what your doing (smart business decision) It is also a great checklist for both your batteries and the problems I have encountered with renewing old NiMH packs. I made a video similar to this a couple years ago. I will be making an updated version soon. I would also love to do a Lithium conversion at some point (and post the video of it too) one day in the future. BTW Im enjoying your DrPrius app way more than the other apps and will be doing more videos on that soon as well.

Thanks for the video and your focus on Priuses! I have the app and use it from time to time to check the battery health. Recently I've started getting P0A1F and P0A80 - and the RTOD. Today, the second time with these errors, after resetting those, I decided to run your paid-app Life Expectancy test. I still get about 85%. The 12v battery is 12 years old and I'm thinking I should look at the ECU connectors/harness for burning. What causes the microshorting/burning?

Hi Jack, great video! I am installing in my 2007 prius today with only 70k original miles and very excited. Unfortunately my high temperature today is only 42. Should I wait for a warmer sunnier day before taking the car on its initial break in drive? I am installing in my heated garage at about 68 degrees. Thank you!

I purchased reconditioned packs and even a reconditioned my own cells and still have the triangle. DR prius shows some yellow so I guess those are the problems trying to get all green. I want to convert to lithium saving up for the $2000.

Thanks for the info Jack. Can you give us the list of the tools you use to use? Power tools, extensions, sockets? Also would be great to see 12v aux batteries with more life span and less weight compared to traditional ones.

Would you have a part number for the bad battery ecu? Can a prius V part be interchanged with a different model part (ie prius battery ecu placed into a prius V)?

So, my sister's husband died and she left his 2006 prius sitting in the drive for about 5 years in her grief. The main batteries were replaced right before he died. I'm helping her get rid of it now but have no clue if those batteries can be expected to be good. She doesn't want to tow it to a mechanic. I'm just trying to get some ballpark info here to maybe help her get a little money from it. Thanks for any info. Best. L.

I have a question. My #4 module blew the top off it looks like it might have damaged a sensor right above it. It has 2 green wires going to it. How do I approach this problem? I think there is a small black part missing. Not sure. Is that a temp sensor? Thank you.
