'Back To December' is a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her 3rd studio album 'Speak Now'. It is a song of apology for a past lover whom she dropped the ball despite the fact that he was nice and wonderful to her. In this song, she recalled about her time with him and also expressed her regrets for leaving his past lover, as well as hurting him.
I really love this song very much although it's quite a sad and heartbreaking song. What I like about this song is how Taylor Swift showed her maturity by having the courage to admit her mistakes and swallowing her pride to say sorry for hurting her past lover. Based on the lyrics, she probably was seeking for reconciliation despite so much had gone wrong in their relationship. Though Taylor Swift did not reveal who this song was for, Taylor Lautner told the press in year 2016 that he was the inspiration of the song.
Since it's December, I might as well cover this favorite song of mine. As usual, I did my own arrangement with some reharmonization. I hope I did this song justice and that you would enjoy my cover version of this song. I also hope that I've expressed the emotions that inspired the writing of this song.
