A big part of their vocal training involves running on the spot and singing at the same time, so that they're able to handle the dancing and the live singing at the same time

Jesy is comfortable there. Her voice sounds like that normally. She does sound better slightly higher tho but her voice is set farther back hence why you thought that.
I don't think she sings in an F3 for as long as she does in this song. Usually she goes down to it and then back up but she doesn't usually sit at an F3 like she does here.

She SLAYED those lines and managed to sing them well but was she fully comfortable ? No for me. And the only reason why you say it's usual for her to sing/sound like that is because she always likes to sing those type of notes even tho she could slay high notes and that makes me pretty sad honestly...
I think even though Jesy is kinda designated as the “lower singer” she really isn’t all that “low”.
This song is actually really difficult in terms of range, and while Jesy can definitely sing down there, even just moving and singing at the same time can really make it not sound clean. Absolutely not a bad critique, I think even the best singers ever would have issues with that.
With the dance breaks, they use the backing vocals because it's literally impossible to do that dnace break live. So they save their voice for their own verses and harmonies

I don't know a lot about singing to be honest but I think jesy's voice just generally sounds like that. You're probably right, I don't really know but her voice is just always pretty breathy.
Jade’s always seemed like the one who’s been 100% comfortable with her voice. Perrie’s regressed since Salute era but no doubt still a strong vocalist. And Leigh’s improved a lot but sometimes she lacks confidence and tends to shy away from higher notes and has been inconsistent lately. Jesy I feel has never been properly given the chance to shine; she’s an amazing vocalist but in a group with 2 of the best vocalists from their generation, she was bound to be overshadowed along with Leigh Anne. But honestly Jade is another level; she’s not the best belter but her developed registers, range and technique makes up for that. Its the same case with Wheein from Mamamoo; they’re both the best vocalists in their respective groups, but overshadowed by a strong belter (Perrie and Solar)
what's life? I agree with most of your point, however it’s clear that Perrie has regressed slightly, but shes also been getting her voice back on track lately. The regression was evident from 2016-late 2019 however. Especially when she got the high notes in the bridge. Down and Dirty worried me a lot considering how she lengthened the high note and strained most of the time throughout the tour. Most were hit but a lot were strained and pushed. The problem with Jade is she doesn’t seem to getting enough rest. She’s still better than Perrie vocally, but her voice has been sounding tired since the Glory Days era. It’s true that Leigh Anne is the second most powerful in the group, but don’t forget, technique is more important than power. Despite having powerful voices, Perrie and Leigh aren’t always hitting them properly. Perrie especially tends to strain and Leigh, im not sure why she dodged notes, but it’s either she’s not confident or she knows she can’t hit it properly (ie. sls2, power, lightning), but definitely a lot of untapped potential. Jesy needs to step her game up. She’s not a weak vocalist, but compared to other 3 she tends to lacks resonance and to the point where you can barely understand a word she’s singing. I agree w h the carry thing; Jade and Perrie get the most lines and high notes and you can definitely tell it’s negatively affected them throughout the years, and 2019-2020’s the first time they’ve taken a long break since they began. I really hope Jade recovers, because the amount of growls she’s put in, and inconsistencies she’s shown recently are concerning.
And the thing with Wheein and Solar is that Wheein is naturally a good vocalist, whereas Solar said that she had to work to get where she is as she used to be the weakest, meaning that Moonbyul was initially stronger than Solar, which kinda makes sense since her high note in Ten Nights sounds like a full, open their, supported note which note many sub and lead vocalists would be able to even think of executing.
@@taeslilclown9801 it's just the growls on Jade isn't natural and I agree if Leigh could push some of her note and be confident she can step up. Leigh is MY 2nd best vocalist in little mix after Perrie, Jade can hit jigh note but it seems like she's pushing her voice so much to hit high notes. With Jesy's voice it's also fine she didn't need to go high just to be a good vocalist, her vocals was good but not high. Perrie's vocals is high and powerful but her technique can damage her voice also.
I am not a vocal coach, I just listen to a lot of music and this is my opinion
Jade has a really strong and the most versatile voice in the group with the best technique, control, range, consistency & agility! She can literally do anything with her voice tho! Definitely one of the best vocalists of this generation!
Diksha Mawri and the sad part is she never gets credit nor acknowledged for it. when the gp thinks Little Mix they mainly think of Perrie. And even Perrie doesn’t get acknowledged for being one of the best vocalists of their generation

You should react to more of their live performance , or them live on tour and you will see that they love some heavy choreo , so they are pretty trained to dance and sing at the same time 🤗 Great reaction

When Little Mix are rehearsing they usually run on the spot or dance while singing so when they perform live or after dancing they don’t sound out of breath😁

I'm late as hell but just wanted to say that i have noticed that jesy sings after choruses(dance breaks) a lot and most her lines are in a lower register, i think it's understandable for her to sound out of breath because you can't really project your lows after that much physical engagement. i think jesy is pretty comfortable with her upper third octave notes since she's usually one doing low harmonies.
I love LM dearly and I know that they're great vocalists but they're not robots so they obviously using pre-record sometimes, I can defenetly say that in this particular song Jesy uses pre-records(different almost every time) pretty often cause it's pretty low, then goes Leigh Anne she uses it sometimes when it's low but rare, same with Jade she uses it really rare, couple times, and Perrie almost never usues it, I think I hear it only once, and I listened every performance
And for everybody I just want to say that with their choreography and long concerts it's COMPLETELY OKAY to use it, everyone does and Little mix uses it rearer than any other artists I know(with dances)
All of that was said to fans in comment who writes that it their normal voice and all, I just wanted to clarify
Jesy's 2nd verse here was live but the only one consistently live in wlm (not just this performance) is Perrie and she used track in some early performances. In general, Jade and Leigh lip the most then Perrie when she lips her high notes instead of dodging them.
I like how you gave your honest opinion and tried to be nice still and not offend anybody and still said that it was an amazing performance because some vocal coaches only focus on the negative and only say what needs to be improved but you were very nice about it so I appreciate that 😌💕

I love this reaction, it's honest but still kind. Also, little mix try to not only be a vocal group but give great performances which includes dancing. They often do not sing on the choruses of their songs and use that for their more heavy dancing and they very often don't even attempt to lip sync in those parts. They do also really have a great ability to sing while dancing though so sometimes I do think they're lip syncing when they're actually singing. As a lot of other people have commented, they've trained with singing while running or jumping on the spot.

They aren’t singing on the chorus for the chair dance. That’s somewhat typical of them, they sing their verses and often leave the choruses in dancey songs to the track so that they can do choreography

yeah they sometimes just have the track when it's a chorus cos they like to focus on choreography at some parts as they always put on a full performance.

Manga - “We could be the same” from Eurovision 2010 is an amazing performance. It is literally in Top 3 all time Eurovision performances and the song is written against racism. So its a great one to react i think.

But honestly....they are dancing their asses off and still maintaining some sort of vocal steadiness...come on, how many act really can pull that off? Most groups would totally just stick to a backing track and just barely sing, Little Mix give it their all and dance, and entertain! Who cares if their off a few notes here and there...they never really go far off key or range AT ALL....and they rock it even if they do; I've noticed they're queens of "bringing it back" when a note gets "lost" so let's give em that :) :)

Lot of butt hurt people here in the comments because of your honesty. I personally don’t like the way they sing Woman Like Me in any performances. I enjoy the occasional playfulness of how they sing their parts, but they deviate from the studio versions way too much and sometimes try a bit too hard which also causes them miss lyrics. Great reaction, keep up the good work!
