- This video was recommended by TheRealEnderboy and challenge to document the important histories of Craftwars and its' community and influence. With Craftwars being inactive, the history has pretty much come to an end at this point.

yea it was a fun ride. hope things go back to how they were it’d be fun to play with them again. always loved playing both cw and cw2. difficult to focus on those now that everything is getting crazier due to everyone getting older and possibly not having the time to focus on playing enough to keep the community active. seen many friends leave the community and even i slowed in activity in the discord. mad respect for everyone working on the games thanks for making games that i could enjoy.

Thanks, from all Roblox games I spent a lot of time in, Craftwars really stuck with me, I have seen so many good games rise and fall and seeing this just makes me tear up.

Just finished watching the video. You did an AMAZING job explaining the history of the game! There was a lot of stuff that I didn't know about, like Craftwars 2 still getting updates after the terrain change (Cthulhu, Demon King, etc). Keep up the great work!

This vid finally got around to me and I just wanted to say you did an incredible job! It's nice to be able to sit down and see the history of a game that I had loved and invested so much time in fully laid out for the community to see. It's sad to see its steep downfall just after a ray of hope and I wish there was more that could've been done to keep this game afloat. After seeing this vid, I almost wanna go back and fulfill my ultimate goal of 100k ranks like I said I would a year ago. Not much else I can say other than keep up the good work on these videos!

Aw man, starting to remember my time in the discord, I wasn't much there but it was fun interacting with people, wish I could've been there for the entire thing. I left before I got watch the end of it too. Some really cool people in the server. This community was great, I recognize some people in the comment section, very neat.

man just seeing the past and seeing the current year or day of the game is mind blowing. but i do remember some old things i remember doing around the community and seeing the old discord before i even made a full appearance from a certent event i caused in cw2 in some time i forgot. but all i know is i had good memories of the game but most... best to be forgotten because of other "events". i think i even seen the whole cw and da thing go one but no idea if i remember that but i do know for a fact that i MIGHT have caused the world to turn all blocky so... woops but the cw1 v2 project thought i do remember that but i have not even done a thing to that till it was now forgotten... but all i really know is this is a good video
I first made my account in 2016 and first discovered craftwars in 2017, probably a few months before the lux update was added but I never had discord and stuff at the time so while I was there when the game was popular I didn't really get to interact with the community at all. Ngl craftwars holds a very special place for me, I randomly visit it like every year or 2 for intense nostalgia. I'm sure people like nacker who are probably like 20 now are tired of always being reminded of a game they made years ago so I guess it's time the game rest.

Surprisingly accurate, honestly.
Some timelines are a little wrong and there's like 1 or 2 mistakes in there (for example im sure that true scythe, the only true item at that time was only 200m instead of 1billion)
Id also like to add that there were multiple tycoon housings alongside the one you showed before "early craftwars", one huge tower with multiple stories alongside generators and a heli pad at the top + a small tower with only one purchaseable extra story
Not to mention there used to be 4 white pathways with a couple free models around. I do think the thanksgiving event shouldve also been mentioned and the old tutorial system.
The dramas between people and also DA are unneccessary though, doesnt really relate to anything about cws history but fair enough.
But yeah CW was the most fun ive ever had and it certainly helped me get through 2015 and afterwards, I still return to 1 and 2 sometimes and it still is refreshing, I wonder what nacker is up to nowadays....

I'm glad you mentioned DA. It was what introduced me to cw-style games as a whole and still remains my favourite roblox game.
I remember joining a server in that game and seeing pearl and he was like "whats up you just missed nacker"
i was like "what"
he said "yeah he just left, he joined, yelled at me that this game was a ripoff and that he was going to sue, but he was level 100 so he must've played already"

I remember playing this game around like 2016/2017 when I was a kid just for fun and absolutely sucking at it but the fact there’s so much lore behind it is super interesting and a little nostalgic
I lved this. Although i join craftwars late 2018, i still play most of craftwars game. I also love documents so this made the expirence better. thank you for the memories.

Seeing Craftwars diminish in player count and love from the roblox community honestly makes me really sad. I actually first found out about craftwars via roblox ad in mid-late 2016, and i had a lot of fun. It’s sad to see the game go, as it’s mostly being ravaged by a general dislike from the new roblox generation of players, and exploiters.

I remember playing this game endlessly back in 2016-2017 with my older brother, even with a simple map the game has a lot to discover (items) and probably the dungeon/temple bossfights you can get through from your house, i remember the only weapon i used was that red giant hammer from a code.

It’s been a year since I’ve made CW gameplay content. I’m happy that people still care about the game. Hopefully I can make more content in a fan-game version of CW.

although i haven't played craftwars much, mostly due to the 3 lives in dungeon system: soloing them on tablet was one level of a pain, i have to say: watching this was a breeze, and, despite CW being gone, there's something we should remember: the fanmade games. stuff like bad craftwars, although having insane numbers is actually fun + it has an element of grinding + analyzing various materials, there are games with more balance like crimson craftwars and it's also a huge deal.
one suggestion: could you do a review on some of the popular CW fanmades? would be interesting to see your opinion on something like bad craftwars or some meme variants like maybe meme craftwars.

Craftwars is such a golden relic of roblox's past and it's really amazing how far we've gone.
Also check out Balanced Craftwars Reworked, it's stupidly fun and might be better than the og Craftwars too. The updates are pretty smooth but they're pretty fun

Craftwar was my first ever Grinding Game back when i still playing ROBLOX on my Mobile. I have a really fun experience with it, back then i team up with stranger to defeat boss and get loot, i never get to my first raid due to real life problem
But if One Thing Craftwar Taught me. Grinding really time consuming and that applies to other non ROBLOX game as well.
Craftwars was my first game where i met my first friend, then it got hacked and i could never dm him again life is unfair.
I started to play Balanced Craftwars Overhaul some days ago and I really enjoyed the community and the play style, it is simple but very well done, this video clarified a lot of doubts I had about the same game having different versions and gave me a lot of information about the history of it, thank you for the video!

I think the essential growth period was between mid 2016 from late 2017. That's were i took notice, then somewhere around 2019 the game was declining rapidly and it wasn't even averaging 20 players anymore. If you check now its barely 10 players.

This really was a superb video! This was my go to game back in 2017 and 2018 and watching this video was quite sentimental for me.
One of my favorite games. I would grind it everyday for a few hours, until I the game prevented me from crafting the true fire crown after crashing 4 times and taking all of my resources.

Im currently making a game called Craftwars: Reborn and I had absolutely no clue that there was a game before mine that was called the exact same thing lol, it's cool honestly. And to the rest of the experiences i had, from the mewishm8x raid, to the tatsu drama, it was a good time. Some missed out info is, what i would think, is the real reason mewishm8x had his mod powers stripped. I had a lot more interaction with him than i would've actually thought i did. During the rex raids, he also gave out random items, along with his girlfriend also beign a cw fan at the time. Due to this, he gave her practically any item she wanted. this would later cause drama in the discord (from what i remember), and eventually him being removed as a moderator
Edit: as odd as it is, (you would need context) i dont want my game to suffer the same fate the previous one did

I remember my time in this community as a long time member from januarary 2016... I had connections with some of the well known people in the community such as Dicemeister, Elco, and even Edos. This game has a lot of memorys hooked to it for me and i would go back to the good days any chance i could get, the game is dead now, only around 10-30 players but every, single, time, i join, the game brings back a rush of nostalgia i loved having a part of the community and even produced ost for some of the offshoots of the game from time to time. I even remember when cw2 came out, it was like a revival of the community, sad that it is also dead now..... I really wish i could go back to see more of the community.. To think just a year or so ago craftwars got what was probably the last update in a game so nostalgic to me... just makes me cry.

for some information about exotic craftwars vanta was burnt out from what i've heard and something was happening to the exotic craftwars server and vanta decided to delete the game and the server
Another part no knows when craftwars stopped updating 2017-2018 almost 19 I would say I payed for retro craft wars updates and I even have a tribute in the game Lexi made for me I miss the games feels like such a long time ago

Im sad I joined the community late, after the "golden age." I joined about half a year after the game commmunity was officially ended, and a little before exotic ended. Even though I missed out on the main part of the community, I feel like it has changed and turned into something new with all the different unique and well made games coming out recently.
